This is totally unbelievable. It just shows how sick these people really are. :biting:
Paedophiles
Yes, let’s bring them out in the open so we can really “cure” them of their perversion.

You may think they are sick, but it wouldn't appear they do. And, they will push their social agenda until little by little it is accepted as normal. Wasn't this sort of thing going on with the ancient Greeks? I wonder, once they have achieved their goal of legalizing consensual sex with minors, will there be provisions for a "permission slip" signed by the parent or guardian. You might say, "no parent would sign that". But, given time and liberalization of attitudes toward the subject, it might in time be akin to a permission slip for a field trip.

The only way degradation of moral values can be prohibited is by intolerance. And, we all know how intolerance can be twisted around to mean bigotry. Sound familiar?

I think it is pretty well documented, there is no "cure" for sexual deviancy. IMO, the only way to control it is via nuetering offenders. That is once you have decided where to draw the line on what is "normal", and what is unacceptable. And, your link clearly shows that is subject to individual and popular opinion.

The ancient Greece's, Romans and others had their "little boys and girls" The Roman Catholic Church still has their "little boys and girls". A thousand years from now others will have their "little boys and girls". Massive witch hunts have been tried in the past and failed miserably, the hunts with its faults accusations were worse then the crime, what makes anyone think now would be any different.
History 101: When a popular myth is believed to be factual, teach the myth.

Its not possible to underestimate the intelligence of the voting populous.

Hummm, after seeing the results of the 06 election, I may have to modify my perception of the voting populous and refer to them as "Late Bloomers".

Hunts worse than the crime? I guess that depends on the prevailing attitude of society. In a society such as ours, non consensual sex with minors often causes mental and emotional problems with the individual. Society can take the, "anything goes" approach, which would probably lead to less guilt and psycological damage. But, there probably would be other complications to this liberal of an attitude, like maybe being changed to a pillar of salt. :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

This is a terrible crime and the guilty deserve to spend some time in Stir with Bubba as their cellmate.

But.....there have also been witch hunts where aggressive prosecutors have run amuck, one was in Southern California at a preschool, I read some of the interrogation reports from the "specialists" in child abuse that worked for the prosecution. Using a doll figure with a penis and repeatedly asking the child if so and so had shown it or had them play with it and when they repeatedly said no, telling them that another "friendly" doll figure would be very unhappy with them if they didn't tell the truth. Multiple leading questions with threats of the interviewer, their parents and this “friendly” doll being unhappy if they didn't tell the truth about so and so showing his penis having them play with it etc.

My description here just glosses over how it went but this was a criminal witch hunt.

For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being obliged, by better information or fuller consideration, to change opinions, even on important subjects, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise.

We need to get off our high horse on this subject, since we allow kids to get married at 14, and in some states it was even lower. Do you all remember the stir Jerry Lee Lewis caused in Europe when he showed up with his wife who looked like she was 12? Didn't help much when the press found out she was barely 14. How about all the sexually active teens and pre-teens? Here in San Antonio, a 12-year-old gave a blowjob to her 17-year-old boyfriend on the schoolbus--supposedly wilingly.

Justine, I don't think that's what Per is suggesting, in fact, likely just the opposite. :o

Chris, you are right--I think kids have no business getting married at 14, and I saw a lot of examples while living in Lubbock. Sometimes they were both 14, and sometimes she was 14, and the groom was 20 or more. And we talk about the pedophiles in Netherland? Just look at the fundamentalist mormons in Colorado City and Hilldale (and now in Eldorada up the road). 40-50 year old men marrying 13-year olds. And we let it happen! Let's clean up our own backyard before we criticize the dutch!
