May 31, 2006 Wednesday; Record highs ending in northeast

'morning Folks

A few days of afternoon thunderstorms and record high temps in the northeast are coming to an end by tomorrow! It's much to early in the summer season to have 90F during the day! Fortunately, here in the mountains, it cools to 50-something at night, and the rain isn't a bad thing at this point. Blue sky right now, but that may not last...

There are still a few more things inside that need to be finished. I get a lot done when I (geez, I hated to say this) turn the computer off for a few hours. But that's what it takes these days. It's as bad as my coffee habit. Speaking of which, coffee's hot, help yourself!

If you haven't seen the << Great Red Spot >> yet, have a look. Interesting pix with a description by Eric (ngc1514), CS resident astronomer.

Yawl have a good day, stay cool,

JM

Running a bit late today, so good afternoon, y'all.

Nothing exciting going on here right now. Just got my old 1996 Dodge 2500 van emissions inspected - it amazes me that this beast passes every year. Espcially since a newer - MUCH newer - Lexus failed right before it was my turn to test!

Trying to get everything in order before we leave on our trip Friday evening.

Other than that, it's another hot one in Atlanta and we won't see cool weather until the end of September or beginning of October. What we need right now is rain.

Have a good day.

Morning Everyone!! I took the day off from work so that me and my daughter could hang around the house making gurgling noises  I believe she is starting to smile (not gas) :floorrollin: She sure is a happy baby and no trouble at all unless she is hungry and I don't make it out of the kitchen fast enough with her bottle

Getting hot here in the desert (ok when is it not hot here) but I enjoy the weather here. Going to take Elisabeth out to the front porch where I can read to her. Have a good day!

Geez, it is anything but a beautiful day here, the *3 H's* of summer are here for one more day--hazy, hot, humid. :faint:

The vet's office called earlier and asked if I could bring the boyz in to cover a 1:00 cancellation. "Sure." I waited until the last minute to leave, and since I hadn't had the "gentle leaders" on the boyz since last summer, I forgot how to make it fit right. Oh well, I am never late, so I walked them down there on conventional collars and leads. If I could only harness that power! Either one alone knows all his commands, but 2 together--forget about it. They give each other permission to misbehave.

But I am back now, and it's too hot for lawn mowing. Well, not actually too hot, I just don't feel like doing it today. Oops, that isn't right, I mean I have to save gas by adding an extra day to the schedule! Yup, that's it. So I will sit in here where it's cool!

BTW, WyliFox, what part of the country (Canada) are you from?? :dunno:

Nice to see ya back Derrick. How's that schedule work? One day on, one off? Can't beat that! :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Hello from Connecticut; another beautiful June day in May...hope June won't be like July. My mother's sister will be spending 2 weeks with us, the 16th thru the first; the wing room might be pretty hot!

Mom won't get an a/c for it....another line would have to be run that would handle that kind of power. So fans will have to do the job, push air in from the other rooms that do have a/c...

Lots of gardening going on. The iris are gorgeous this year!

Good grief! Iris already! It was only last Sunday that the Lilacs here were blooming well enough to photograph! I do have an Iris called (oops, I forgot), ..well, it's purple. Dark purple beard, and a slightly lighter purple flower. I have to get pix this year. The Tiger Lilies will bloom around the 4th of July. I hope the iris don't take that long. BTW, Heather is in Connecticut, about 100 (or so) miles east of me.

Excuse me while I just blurt this out :

Well my daughter just called. She has not been doing well the past few days. Weak, cheast pain, can't go up any stairs so she knew somthing was starting again in her chest.
As you know she was in the hospital a few weeks back with double pnemonia. Well her respitory therapist was just at the house to check on her. Her left lung is full of fluid. She said you could hear the fluid swishing around in there. She is calling her lung specialist and we shall wait to see what he wants to do. She can see her Doc tomorrow. Sure sounds like the making of a pneumothorax again ( # 8 if it is collapsed lung in the process)
They told her a few weeks back that her heart is starting to deteriate/shut down as it is working to hard to try and keep up. That means she may go back on the double lung heart transplant list again. She was in the past then they thought the heart was going to be ok. Not anymore.. She has been on the transplant list for over 12 yrs now.

Mom is numb...

I need to try and work.. I will let you know as soon as I know more. :spin:

My assumption would have been Texas, since she met Chris, but aside from that, where does it say U.S.? (to think that I would be bad...geez, some poeple.. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: ).
