Sent the President an email suggesting he pay more attention to the FairTax.

And I got this reply!!

Quote:

On behalf of President Bush, thank you for your correspondence.
We appreciate hearing your views and welcome your suggestions.
Due to the large volume of e-mail received, the White House is unable to respond to every message, and therefore this response is an autoreply.

Thank you again for taking the time to write.

OK, so it's an automated, canned response. Still, you know he's listening!

It's easy to do. Here's his email addy: comments@whitehouse.gov. So don't hestitate, send him your comments today!

Many years ago, while living in Alaska, I sent a letter to Sen. Ted Stevens about a subject I was interested in, and shortly after received an Official envelope containing a personal letter from him acknowledging my concern and his stand on the subject, had his distinctive signature on the bottom, I was impressed! until later that year when I met a young lady from Juneau who worked in his D.C. office, Her main job?, operating the "signature machine", they took boilerplate replies and she copied his sig on them and sent them off, lost my interest in correspondence after that..........
by the way, his vote on the subject was the opposite of his stand in the letter.....

I have a friend who wrote a letter to President Bush urging him to bring the troops home from Iraq immediately. He receive a reply almost identical to yours, Chris. Do you think he was really "listening?" :floorrollin:

Of course they (politicians), don't have time for personal replies. But, I do believe their staff keeps tabs on yeas and nays on issues and gives them feedback.
