Monday. I was telling Peggy just last night. We need to do something, or else tomorrow will be Monday. Did she listen? Of course not, and see, now it is indeed MONDAY.

OK, just had to get that off my chest. (and it took the last two chest hairs with it).

Moving right along, the coffee is strong and hot. I ran off and left the Danish and my lunch sitting on the kitchen counter this morning so I will have to eat oat meal. Not a bad thing, but not nearly as good as an onion and tomatila sandwich and tater chips.

Hope everyone had a wonderful week-end, and is looking forward to having a productive and meaningful Monday, I know I am. yawn

I think I will go back and read just what you have been up to. Been busy, or lazy, either way didn't spend too much time here over the week end.

Later, Dudes and Dudettes

'morning Folks,

I am in the lower-48, NY to be exact, and there is a frost advisory for tonight! I didn't get around to planting anything except some pumpkin and sunflower seeds, and hopefully everything that grows on it's own knows what it's doing. The sun is just coming out, and the week of rain is supposed to be over, but it will still be too wet to mow today--no problem!

I hope everybody had a good weekend. If you didn't, this is the place to whine...not that no one will listen, it's just something we have all done, so we won't say anything (although if you come back and see cheese, don't be offended :floorrollin: :floorrollin: )

If you haven't yet noticed "Today's CS Headlines" at the top of the page, have a look. The links will take you to the hot topics! Right now Illegals Get Social Security is listed, but that could change later.

Yawl have a good day, stay warm, stay cool, stay dry,

JM

Hi Y'all. Coffee at sunrise over the Des Moines river at the Red Rock Dam in Iowa. I'll be home for the summer this PM; it is only 75 miles away.

If you ever come this way Ivan's Campground is a good place to stay; small, beautiful and bucolic. It is a COE facility on a first come basis.

In a while I'll take my broken motorscooter to Ron Kramer to be fixed. You all know a guy like Ron I'll bet. He "retired" maybe 15 years ago but can't stop working. He's a pilot & performance machine specialist. His shop is like a surgery. I think he's even got a little end mill to make special parts.

It is fun to hear him complain about how people keep bringing in things to be fixed; he's even gotten to the point where he pretends not to be in the shop! I've seen him working in so much pain he can't stand up straight. What a guy! I pity his poor wife who must deal with a great but driven guy.

Have a good day Y'all,

Dave

Good morning, all,

How strange! Last week felt like just a few days off from work and then the wife and I had a "regular" weekend doing weekendy type stuff. And then - today - I STILL didn't have to get up and go to work! I think I'm gonna like this retirement gig.

Big plans for the day include pulling the telescope out of the storage room and giving the mirror a bath. It's a job I've been remiss on since the trip to the Keys in February 2005. But, with the trip to Chiefland coming up this week, if I want to see anything, better clean the crud and spider poop off the mirror.

Hmm... other than that, I don't seem to have ANY plans for the day! Might as well drink another cup of coffee and think about not doing anything.

Well, I do want to finish another lesson in the TTC (The Teaching Company) "Photoshop CS2 Total Training" course I'm working on. 21 hours of video training and I recommend it highly for anyone who wants to get up to speed on CS2. It ain't cheap, but it beats the heck out of trying to learn CS2 out of a book for those of us who respond to visual learning.

For those who might not be familiar with TTC, they have some great courses on tape, CD and DVD. Not only am I doing the Photoshop course, I have their 48 CD(!) course "How to Listen to and Understand Great Music." I'll start that after I have CS2 whipped.

A good day, all.

Good morning to all you early birds. Well, ok, not so early.

Dave, you've made good time! Good luck getting the scooter fixed; you're so lucky to have a friend like that. It's so hard to find anyone skilled at this in this throwaway society. Mom had a lamp that needed the cord replaced; it cost $25 and cheap material was used. Oh well, it works...

Eric, what do you use to clean the camera and telescope lenses? I am afraid of using the wrong thing and ruining them.

I think I'd rather enjoy great music, that try to understand it. And I think no amount of scholarly explanation could make me understand Schoenberg's atonal music....let alone like it. :faint:

Morning Everyone!! It is raining here again today, and the highs here will be in the lower 70's which is better than it was last week when we hit the upper 100's

Got all the new furniture in place, I enjoyed sleeping in a bed again, that old camping cot was uncomfortable.

I took the cradle out of the nursery and I now have it in the Master bedroom so that when Elisabeth wakes up I can get to her before she starts crying and wakes the dead.

My sister works a 12 hour shift that started at midnight so I have the house to myself to spend some good time with my daughter.

My MIL called me last night and told me that Ell signed the papers and will be relinquishing her parental rights to the baby. Not really sure how I feel about that at the moment, I am kind of in a fog emotionally.

My brother will be getting back to town sometime today (he took the weekend off and went out to have some fun)

This afternoon my lawyer wants me to stop by his office to look at some paperwork that arrived at his office over the weekend, not sure what this is all about. But I will know more when I get there.

I am just taking life one step at a time at this point, bassically it is all I can do at this point.

Yes, I will be taking it easy.

I got my lil pumpkin all dressed up and I am going to head out to my lawyers office, I hate suspence so I need to get this over with. Something tells me it is not something I will enjoy. His office opens at 8 AM, sure glad he doesn't keep banker's hours. I called him and told him I am on my way so he is expecting me.

I will keep you all informed.

Heather,

It all depends upon several factors including:

How dirty the surface,
What kind of dirt,
How badly you need it clean and how quickly.

I must admit to being one of those who will pull out the edge of my t-shirt and wipe mist off the front of a $700 camera lens. I prefer using a Giotto rocket blower to blow the big chunks off and follow this with a gentle cleaning of the surface with a clean microfiber cloth. I do not like lens tissue and never use it. If you get a bit of grease on a lens, get some liquid lens cleaner, apply it to a non-scented/non-aloe infected Kleenex and dab it on the grease. Never shoot liquid cleaner onto a lens or it may get between the lens elements.

Most important - don't be anal about cleaning! A little dust on the lens ain't gonna show up in your images, but a scratch from too avid a cleaning might. Also, lens coatings are pretty tough, but too much rubbing will rub thos expensive coatings away at the cost of contrast.

:worry: Derrick, you told us you'd not keep us in suspense...? :fryingpan:

I hope you are going after child support, big time!!

Eric, thanks for the info. I read somewhere lens tissue isn't the best; that's good to know you agree.

I am anything but anal about cleaning, but when I do clean, don't want to scratch of fog anything.

Can't get childsupport from someone who has relinquished all her parental rights..Oh and she got the marriage annulled to boot..I am a free man now (so why am I not happy about this)

Annullment based on a mental illness on her part, seems she had this all along and refused to disclose it to me, her mom convinced her to tell her lawyer about it and they together decided to take it to a judge to decide..Oh to top it all off this was discussed a month proir to her having the baby. :biting: :biting: :biting:

I forgot to mention that lilttle detail in an email I sent someone. Myhead is reeling and I am having difficulty consentrating on everything I have learned.

So, any single older ladies out there who want a younger (27 year old ) man with a newborn? :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Too bad she didn't tell you first, and give you a chance to accept and be supportive. One extreme or another...go figure...

On edit (again): I hope you are fortunate enough to find one like I found, although she is not older. Maybe I should leave older out of that sentence? Might be better to delete the whole section. Ohwell, no lilmit on edits...
