Just wondering . . . if a few of us did get together, could we enjoy it for what it was - could we rise above our opinions & egos to really enjoy some potential relationship building? I'd let you play Freesbie with Sparky the wonder dog . . . and even mix you a tall, cold Mai Tai (the 1st is always free).

What, no Shiner? I've been to rallies with people I've argued with day in and day out and never talked politics or religion the whole time, just had fun. Talking politics and religion is fun too. I find it challenging, learn a lot, and try to put in what I take out. |

I would have no problem at all, I know all sorts of good people I disagree with. Besides I am always right. :spin: A good beer (Shiner qualifies) always improves my opinion of my host.

Just like Chris I noticed change of personality, when we are on rallies. We can be die-hard enemies on the forum, but it is totally different, when we roast whole pig for the night. |

I tend to avoid confrontational disagreement in social settings. So, would probably just stick to talking about camping, the grandkids etc. And, try to accentuate things we have in common rather than disagree on. |

Not sure it's so much a change of personality as having topics like drinking good beer and roasting pigs to talk about. |

I doubt I would enter into some of the discussions we have here, in person. I think I would not fit in , I have a feeling I am younger then some of you. I am also female, and many of you are male, so really what female wants to sit around with a bunch of guys chewing the fat. I would most likely , LIKE most of you, but, I would end up chatting with your wives and commiserating over your inability to ask for directions, get your socks in the laundry bin, or not put the empty juice jug back in the fridge. MInd you, after a few Hienekens, if I heard " fighting words" over at your end of the circle , I know I would interject myself! YOu know , stuff like, " in my day all children were perfect" etc. |

First of all, what's a "Shiner?" As far as all this stereotypical male shortcomings - I do none of these, and you can ask my wife!

Oh my, you have led a culturally sheltered life. It is a rather fine line of beers brewed at a brewery started in the boondocks of Texas by a German family.

Or it could be that I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore. |

When I said I'm not much of a beer drinker any more, it just meant I don't drink a case at a time these days! |

Don't see any reason why we wouldn't all get along. I gather with friends who hold diametrically opposite opinions from mine and we get so heated and angry at each other we'll leave the room. Doesn't make us any less friends and doesn't mean we don't enjoy each other's company. And we're damned well not going to sit around talking about television shows! |
