I think I may have screwed up BIG TIME!!! While typing in today's date, it occured to me that this just may be Peggy Birthday. This is all the girl's fault. They know to warn me in advance. I wonder if they just don't care anymore. They have to know that Mom will not be pleased. If you don't hear from me for awhile, you can imagine why. Well, let's see. THE COFFEE IS ON!!! Today, I didn't need to go get another bottle of water for the water machine, so coffee is on time. I made it extra strong and it is very hot. The weather is about perfect. Rained last evening, but this morning it is neither cool, nor warm. Just exactly in between. Tomorrow is suppose to be near 90, so that will be a good test of the race car's cooling system. I have started a new regiment this morning, and I must get to it. I will be eating oatmeal for breakfast. There is a good reason, but I forgot what it is. Oh, now I remember. Peggy sez so. 'morning Folks! Sunny and pleasant here this a.m., no complaints about the weather. That seems to be the least of things folks have to worry about, but a sunny day always helps to make things seem just a little bit better. Thanks for starting the coffee, Ken! And you're having delicious oatmeal, yummm,--I'm so jealous! Yesterday's thread got busy last night, so to catch you up if you haven't read it: Derrick's ole lady left after she had their baby. She's headed for Alabama with her maw, and I must say, he's handling this situation better than most guys do. You have no idea what it's like when you don't see it coming. As for Wolfie's question, Sharon is "hibernating". She is still upset by recent events, and when she does sit at the computer, it's usually to play solitaire. But she will be back online. Hopefully soon. I must go have my sausage and eggs, so yawl have a good day, stay warm, stay cool, and stay dry, JM |

Good morning, all, Got the trailer cleaned and back into the storage yard yesterday. Life would be so much easier if we had a place to store it at home. With any luck, we'll have such a facility when the wife retired and we build our retirement home in Ohio. She wants a house... I want a big garage and workshop! Looks to be another beautiful day in Atlanta. The seaon's heat isn't on us as yet and high temperatures have been in the mid 70's. Had plenty of rain lately and the whole world is green. Spring is Atlanta's best season. Hope everyone has a great day and, for those who still have to go to work... HAHAHA! Oh, sorry, that just slipped out and you know I don't mean it. Really. Eric |

Morning everyone, the sun is starting to peek through the cloud coverage that we got here late last night. I'm doing good this morning, got up at 4 AM for diaper duty and had my coffee, then fell back to sleep with a baby on my chest. Elisabeth is still asleep and I am here playing online until she wakes up. I have a busy day today starting at 9 AM. I will try to get online later to check in. John thanks for the vote of confidence, I am doing what has to be done, as far as taking all this in stride well it's what I have to do. Everyone have a good day! Ken hit the stores man and buy her something she will love (flowers always work, as well as a gift, gold works well) Eric, laugh all you want about not working, you earned your right to laugh at all the hard working folks out there. |

Derrick; Wow, I didn't read about your situation until just now. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that once you come up to speed on being a single parent, you are going to have a wonderful time. It gets hetic, and sometimes you think you can't deal with it, but you can. My Daughter's (Shannon) Mom left when she was almost three, so I had a lot more time to get use to it. I did however, see it coming back when she discovered that a baby wasn't like playing dolls. I too was a few years older than her. I can understand her thinking she made a mistake marrying me, and leaving, but for the life of me, I just can't understand how anyone can leave a baby, especially in the care of someone like me. It was pretty rough on me at first, or should I say rough on my ego. Having the responsibility of caring for Shannon kept me from doing something stupid. In hind sight, I can't imagine anything more wonderful happening to me. I guess it doesn't say much for my life, but raising Shannon was and is the definition of my life. I don't know if shannon was just special, or if she rose to the occasion, but having her in my life was by far more benefical to me than it was for her. I wish you all the luck and patience in the world. You will need it, but in the end, there is nothing in life so fulfilling as the journey you are just now beginning. Damn, I think I envy you. Be Of Good Cheer!!! Ken Gasbarri |

Ken this daddy thing is hard, but worth every moment of it. I am sure it will get easier and harder at the same time. I will just have to re-arrainge my work schedual to fit around an infant. Good thing I have been with this company for 5 years. They are very understanding. My sister will be moving in this afternoon and she works nights, so she will help out during the day. This is the only time you will hear me say this, but I love my lawyer He managed to convince the court that I am to have sole custody, and they are in the process of terminating Ellen's rights to the baby. This is a rough call on my part but I have to protect my rights as well as Elisabeth's. I never say never, but I can't imagine that I would take Ellen back after something like this, it is just mind blowing. There are many factors I will never understand about the whole thing, and if I keep thinking about it I will get emotional. There is no time for that now. After my sister gets here I will take a ride out in the desert and try to sort out my emotions, my brother will come with me to pick up the pieces if needed. Everyone have a good day, I will be here in and out, and as long as my antenna is out I will have internet. |

Derrick, for now, you can post the pic here in this thread. We are discussing the possibility of a "picture posting thread", but that doesn't exist yet, although, hmmm.. I guess it could exist in Cafe, and move later if it has too. OK, post it on the Picture Posting Thread in Cafe! JM |

Derrick, I am so sorry and shocked to hear of your misfortune. Can it be a case of temporary maternal insanity? There is such a thing, caused by rampaging hormones, and it has caused new mothers to do worse than this, sadly. The nice man down the street, Tim, who gave me our chickens and built us a house for them, is trying to raise a little boy alone; his wife left him two months ago. The child is only 1. BUT, she didn't clean out the house, and she is sharing custody. Still, a sad thing. |
