'morning Folks!

It's the middle of May already and my lilacs haven't bloomed yet. Maybe they'll get 'round to it by fall! It's cool and cloudy here (again), but no rain right now.

All the rally people are home. Heather will post something here today...no word on the mid-west rally, maybe it was too wet to think about now that it's over.

Today is voting day for the local school budget. I won't get started on that--that's the kind of thing I take to Soap. They're used to hearing ...well, never mind, gotta pay taxes, I guess... :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :fryingpan:

Coffee's ready, and Chrissy is bringing donuts. I remembered a delicious nutrition bar for Ken Posted Image(ew, choke a horse). That beats salisbury steak and donuts any day.

Time for breakfast: That's what I get for talking about food. Yawl have a good day, stay warm, stay cool, stay dry,

JM

Morning John;

Thanks for the 'trition bar. Actually, Peggy has me well trained. I am beginning to look forward to those kind of things. Food, any kind of food is welcomed. I do need to lose about 8 lbs. and could get it done by passing up a Mickey Dee's once in awhile, but she is on this diet, and if "Mamma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" is her position, so I will just have to endure for awhile.

Truthfully, the old gal is really trying, and it isn't that big a deal for me to go along and support her efforts. My mind does, however, stray to thoughts of a beautiful, young, leggy blonde, wearing very little, and holding a Steak, Egg, and cheese Bagel. Boy oh boy, in my younger days, what I could do with a Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel.

Oh, back to reality. I have to focus on the race car. We have decided to have it painted at MAACO. After a lot of thought, we would prefer one of those high dollar custom paint jobs, but it is a race car, not a show car, and a race track is a difficult place to keep a paint job "cherry". Hopefullly, the guy in the other lane will see just a red blurr going past at the finish line.

Well, gotta get to that damn 'trition bar', the day is waitng, and I have things to do. (hey, you don't know, I might have something to do, it could happen).

Be Of Good Cheer!!

Good morning, all you happy people. JohnM, I did post something on yesterday's thread about the Rally; mostly what went on Sunday and Monday morning.

If I start recounting the whole thing, I will be here all morning. Suffice it to say, the food was great and more than plentiful, the company even greater, and there is no question but that we are going to repeat it next year. However, if you want to be there, I strongly urge you to watch the RV.net Rallies and Gatherings forum and sign up asap when it opens for 2007. A lot of people are going to be left out, as they are limiting it to 50 rigs. That is the outside limit for having a manageable group re activities and food. I would love to see many of you at this rally in May; the weekend after Mother's Day this time!

Gloomy and threatening more rain here. They had FIVE inches while I was gone!

This is the week my oldest is representing her company at the trade show at Mohegan Sun Casino in Norwich. On Friday Alison will pick Val up after the show closes, and bring her here. Saturday night Val is treating all of us to dinner at the Bistro, and Sunday I take her to the airport. I am so looking forward to seeing her again!

Thursday I have to get up way before dawn and get myself to Old Lyme to meet a few Audubon Society people for a morning of warblers and thrushes in Nehantic State Forest. It's an all-morning event; bring your own breakfast. Hope it doesn't rain!

I am going out to look for morels. You cannot miss them or mistake them for any other mushroom! They look not at all like store mushrooms but like little tan or brown sponges on stems and are hollow when cut open. Rinse them, dry with paper towels, and fry them in butter. They are wonderful! Look for them under old apple trees or dying elms.

Morning! Today should be interesting. I get to go see the accountant to have our taxes done for the store and our perosnal returns. I filed extensions for both of them because I just ran out of time to get things done and get to the accountant. :kickcan: This is the first time I've ever had someone else do my taxes. Feels like I'm turning my life over to someone . . .

Our rally in Wisconsin was wet and a little nippy, but one of our friends had some tarps and was able to make an awesome shelter so that a large group of us was able to sit underneath it at the campfire. I didn't have boots for the kids, so they ended up using putting their feet into plastic Walmart type bags and then into their tennis shoes to keep their feet dry! Boy, did that bring back memories of when I was a kid and winter boots always leaked! Course, back then I think we used bread bags! :floorrollin:

Some folks decided to show up Thursday night and had to drive through VERY windy conditions. We had gusts up to 70 mph recorded in Green Bay! Around our house, they were 40-50 mph. There was NO WAY we were going to leave early with those kinds of winds. It was still windy Friday morning, but for us, it was a nice tail wind that helped to push us south! :)

We had some rain every day, but that was OK, because they weren't all day rains and was quite spotty. We also had a commercial hot chocolate and cappuccino machine available (compliments of one of our campers) so everyone was able to keep warm (at least on the inside!).

As always, the food was incredible! We always have everyone bring little $5 gifts that we pick site numbers from so everyone gets something. That's always fun! We had one RV dealer with us (they came to our fall rally, too), and they donated T-shirts for everyone. Of course, there were RV.Net t-shirts as well.

It was a great time, but it's always good to be home, too. Lots of laundry to do and drying out, but that's OK.

Well, gotta get ready to head to the store! See ya'all later!

I will be hit and miss all week. Wed on there are 2 girls booked off. That leaves me short then if anyone does not show up :banghead: Loooooog week just so you know.

I know it is too much too soon, trust me I feel it. The phones never stopped constant flashing from 8am till 7:30 pm. :unbelievable: It is beyond crazy. Short 2 people and one left for the Doc.. :frustrated: Plus my other stuff I have to do.
I had @ 40 messages on Mon am on the a/m over the weekend plus notes. Most important I got most of it done.

I am going in for 7 to get stuff done before the phones go on.

Good morning, all! Rally cleanup here too, Julie. I don't think we got quite as wet as you guys did, but ralliacs do not care ;)

Actually, the 4th Annual Northeast Rally will be the weekend before Mother's Day in 2007 - May 4 - 6, and they have 55 sites reserved. No reservations accepted until Jan. 1, 2007. Still at Deer Run - north of Albany, NY by about 30 miles. It's a great cg for rallies, as well as other camping.

Well, laundry calls and then the kitchen floor.

Have a day :)

Good Morning......
Because Ken is on a diet I bought some donut holes for breakfast. They have to taste better than the nutrition bar.
Anyone make coffee (strong)?

Sounds like great times this weekend at the rallies. Someone should plan one in a little further south, maybe North Carolina. :)

Wood is being delivered for the patio......Finally. :)

Good morning, all.

How odd to be off on a Tuesday and not HAVE to do anything. To wake up without the alarm, have a second cup of coffee and the time to read the whole newspaper.

Think I'm gonna enjoy this!

Good Morning everyone!

I am having a late start this AM, my brother got called into work so I have to sit put until he gets here, when he gets here.

Ellen has come out of her funk and is now really getting into caring for our daughter, so much so that she and her Mother went shopping for baby clothes and other stuff.. I handed her my business credit card and told her to buy what she wants.

The 5'er is loaded with food and my toys. Please pass the donuts and the coffee, they smell great, just don't tell Ell that I ate a donut or she will make me work it off.

Looks like it is going to be a hot one here in the windy desert today, but that's fine with me, my brother and I can see how many snakes we can run over with our quads. Sorry for all you reptile lovers out there but the only good rattlesnake is a dead one
:floorrollin:
And where I am going they have two kinds and one that is very aggressive and to watch out for because it is one of the deadlist ones out there. The Mojave Green.

Okay is there a spell checker here, I know I misspelled a word or two in that last paragraph :floorrollin: :pistols: :pistols:

Derrick, Google offers a great Firefox spellchecker in its toolbar, here: http://www.google.com/tools/toolbar/T4/index.html. I think it now supports IE.

Thanks Chris...

Now I guess there are no excuses for my bad spelling :floorrollin: Other than fat-fingering the keys   Now ladies don't take that last statement out of context :floorrollin:  :floorrollin:

My brother is working a MVA outside of Bakersfield and it looks as though we will be leaving later today sometime, if it is too late we will leave tonight when it is cool.

Ellen has a funny look in her eyes and wants me to follow her somewhere so I am off to see what she has in mind.

I have it installed and rarely use it. Too lazy.

In the desert? Must be Spring in the Mojave. I'd go for a walk, take my camera.
