Many radio host are talking about it. I think we've all just got accustomed to the income tax mess, even though it is absurd, complex & fraught with the potential of political schenanigans.

It would take a groundswell as strong as the ILLEGAL immigrant thing is now - and probably stronger, considering the vested interest most of Washington has in it.

I guess we'll see how strongly people feel about these issues after the November elections. I'd be willing to bet the number of voters remains about the same as in other years.

There's a meaningful ground swell about illegal immigration? You mean the one that's forcing Bush to let most of the illegals stay and become citizens? That ground swell? Pretty ground swelly, if you ask me!

Support is growing grassroots on up, slow and steady. I figure it will take something of a revolution.

Uh yeah - The same groundswell that the Sentate listened to today with only 18 voting against a fence. Pretty big turn around, wouldn't you say.

"Groundswell? I see no stinking groundswell!" :spin:

Did that groundswell include path to citizenship? Don't think so.

So what's the point? No one I've heard is against a path to citizenship - just ILLEGAL immigration & amnesty - that's the groundswell. But then again, I live in Arizona! Even my apolitical wife is up in arms.

Oh? Those most vehement about buidling a fence are completely against any sort of path to citizenship, what they call "amnesty".

Chris - I'm surprised at all those generalizations you threw out in 1 sentence! :redcard: I've heard no one like that, and I've talked/heard many people who are strongly for a wall/fence/securing our southern border (next we must focus on those shifty Canadians - I don't trust 'em).

I think what Bush talked about today in Yuma sounded fairly good.
