'morning Folks!

Yup, it has started! Rain! It's been 17 days (I know, not long compared to some recent history), but it is spring, and this is farm/dairy country. Looks like the rain will be an on/off thing. Right now it's off, but there is more on radar. Next 7 days should be like this.

I saw on yesterday's thread that Pat is leaving for the rally early today, and Heather is still packing. A few other regulars from the "Thread of the Day" will also be at the rally, so we'll see who shows up here with WiFi over the weekend.

Sharon's daughter left the hospital yesterday, and Sharon plans on getting some sleep. I hope she'll be back online sometime today. There hasn't been anybody around to play one-word-answer with me. :fryingpan: :fryingpan:

Time for dog walking and breakfast...(strong) coffee is on, help yourselves. Yawl have a good day, stay warm, stay cool, stay dry,

Good (dark, gloomy, pouring-down-rain) morning!

I just looked at the radar and a wide band of rain is moving east a lot more quickly than predicted yesterday, so we might be in luck. In any case, we'll have a great time.

I've been up since five, showered, breakfasted, attended to the chickies, written my sister Mazzie a note, made the bed with clean sheets; now to get the frozen and refrigerated stuff out and into the van and I am outta here!

Doubt I will be on while camping so see you Monday evening...I am going to    .

John, Orson thanks you. I always read this column out loud to him. He got to the part about walking the dog and he decided he was ready. I didn't have any choice. So off we will go. Groan.... It wasn't even fully light here in Central Standard Time. But you know how dogs can be. He was ready. A formal walk? Let's do it. We are actually gonna drive to the place of formal walks. The grand prominade. We are just outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas. On the mountain, there is this place were presidents have walked their dogs. We are headed there.

Arkansas is an interesting state. We will be leaving later today. But today, we shall stroll on the grand promenade and then we shall get coffee Arkansas respects the California tag thing. Orson is recognized here as a helper dog. He can go with me almost anywhere.

So, once we do our walk, we will get a coffee. He will hang out in a place where dogs hang out. We will sit there and dogs will grin. Our Orson will grin.

Morning John. And Heather.

For those of you going to the rally, "Party On" For everyone else, "Its Friday".

I slept in this morning, and it felt good. Got up and loaded all the propane bottles into the truck, tinkered with the scooter for awhile, and now its coffee time. Trying to lay off all the goodies to comply with Peggy's iron fisted, over the top, gonna starve me into submission, "its my diet and we'll do it my way", if it taste good I can't have it, why does water have to be diluted, I need to lose a few pounds diet. Oh, sorry, was I venting again?

Anyway, another busy day. Peggy has some early morning things to take care of, then off to the other side of town for propane, and diesel fuel before her Dentist appointment. After the Dentist, stop by and see Kylie for a few minutes, borrow the "weed-whipper", and head back this way. Have to go up to Bandimere and pick up the trailer, drag it over to Krazy Kreations and pick up the car, then depending on time, tow back up to Bandimere for this evening race. We won't be racing, but have friends that will, and this way we can leave the trailer in the pits so that it will be "pre-spotted for tomorrows race.

Going to work would be much less hectic, but not near as much fun.

Everyone have a great week-end, and hope the rally is wonderful.

Doc, the Ozarks make for a great random day trip if like wondering around in the mountains, and if you're a trout fisherman, it don't get much better than the Little Red River. here's one link.

Good morning, all.

After a few inches of rain earlier this week, this morning dawned cool, clear and cloudless. The trailer is packed and, as soon as the wife gets home from work (I'm off after working last weekend), we'll be heading down the road to Georgia's FDR State Park in Pine Mountain. She has to stay within beeper range of Atlanta until she goes off-call at 6 PM, but with Friday night traffic in Atlanta... that's not a problem!

We'll spend tomorrow touring Calloway Gardens and the lovely butterfly pavilion as well as hiking and photographing in the state park. It's only the second time we've had the trailer out this year together (I spent a week in the Keys in February, but Candace just doesn't see the fun in staying up all night and sleeping all day during a star party - odd) and we can't wait to get outta town!

Get back home Sunday afternoon and Monday will be my last day at work.

Wow!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

As I get closer (about a year) I'm seeing this as somewhat of a contradiction, very much looking forward to it with some sense of loss. My wife is already retired and wants mine to be tomorrow. I'm still a little too young. :floorrollin: But I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun traveling.

Good morning, all!

No rain right now - seems to have moved on - east to Albany :( Hopefully it will rain itself out and the rally weather will be livable. We'll have fun any way - 51 rigs signed up.

I'm not bringing our laptop, so I'll check in sometime Sunday.

Happy early Mother's Day!

Have a weekend :)

We're getting ready for our rally, too! Cold and rainy, but the winds have died down. Only about 25 mph gusts now. The good news is that the wind is from the north, so we'll have a great tailwind pushing us to the campground! Should be interesting to see what kind of mileage I get! :floorrollin:

Gotta run into the store and pack up an order that came in overnight, then finish packing and off we go! Not sure if we have wi-fi there or not, but I'll bring the laptop, just in case.

Have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all!

Busy day here; not much time to play until this evening. You all have a great time at the rally and tell us all about it when you return.

Yup! I'm pleased that you're having *a* good day. With three months of heat and humidity on the way, you deserve a break now and then. I was in Florida once in August--it was a trip nightmares are made of.... Humid and 85F at 11:30 at night--couldn't leave the hotel. Thunderstorms every afternoon at 4--rain so heavy that cars lined the sides of the road until it let up. Florida in summer! What a thought! :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:
