Friday, Friday, Friday is my favorite day. Monday is a bummer, Tuesday is................ Oh, wait. It isn't Friday, it's Thursday. But that's ok, Thursday is my Friday, so Thursday, Thursday, Thur.................. ah, never mind, you get the idea.

So, how are all you beautifu people doing this fine morning? Things here are just fine thank you. It is colder than a witch's .........better not go there, but it is about freezing out there.

Think I mentioned that we had taken the car to "Krazy Kreations" to have it prepped for painting. The man said it would take three weeks, but would try very hard to get it done in that time. Well, there is a problem. He called yesterday and said I could come pick up the car. I thought something was wrong, but no, the car is finished. Went over and took a look. It is awesome. I guess his crew just liked working on the car, and even stayed late on their own time to get it done. Now the problem is, I can't get the trailer until Friday, and I will need to take some money out of savings to pay for it. We were planning to use my next paycheck, but that isn't for two weeks. This isn't a bad problem to have, just going to make tomorrow a very busy day since we hadn't planned on picking up the car.

Other than that, life is good. Thursday, Thursday, Thur..........aw, there I go again.
Better grab me another cup of coffee, and eat my "nutrition bar" oh boy.

Later folks

Ken Gasbarri

'morning Folks!

Sorry to hear about the cold weather, Ken. It could be hot and humid--you'd be much more confortable, (or not). But a 3-day weekend sounds good. Looks like rain will finally fall in the NE. Its' a slow mover, which may not be good for the weekend, but there's not much anybody can do about that. We do need it badly.

I haven't heard anything new from Sharon this a.m.. Toni is supposed to be released from the hospital this morning (this time for sure), and Sharon has to go to Albany after that--then maybe she can get some rest.

Coffee will be ready shortly--I'll be making 2 pots to start the day from now on since some of us are hogs. Guess I should get some Irish coffee for Chrissy--she's so pleasant after she drinks that stuff (there's enough booze in it to stun a mule :floorrollin: ) Yawl have a good day, stay warm, stay cool, stay dry,

JM

I guess summer weather has come to central florida. After months of almost no rain at all we now have rain at night and thunderstorms during the day interspersed with sunlight.

It is nice & refreshing & I'm not complaining. Yet.

I suppose the biggest problem will be the bugs the rain brings (note mosquito net under awning.)

Shall I escape to the north? I suppose I will, but the bugs won't be any better up there.

Home for now....

Yum, that looks good, JohnM. No fear I will try to grab one; I need to keep my wits about me. I'll be finishing packing the van, except for perishables, today. Leaving in just about 24 hours for Schaghticoke. (That is pronounced "Shat-ih-coke", for those of you who are Native American-challenged). Pretty, rolling farmland northeast of Albany. from the bluff at the back of the grounds, you can see the Hudson River. (Maybe, not in the rain, though).

Glad Toni is getting out of the hospital and hope she does better.

Busy day ahead; better finish up here and get moving. I have a heel spur kicking up again (NOT the same thing as kicking up one's heels!) so I move very s-l-o-w-l-y. Will be popping Advil all weekend. :(

Dave, what photo program are you using for those nicely cropped pictures, or are they panoramic? They are eminently suited to forum use.

That setting is SO Florida!

How is the sideroom working for your son? Is it keeping the bugs and the rain out ok?

Rick, have you found everything you need?

Is your brother still coming with you? Are you both using the pop-up?

Good morning folks. Haven't posted here much lately. Sorry about that. You know how things go, though. Busy is good! :) No coffee for me, thanks. I'll just stick with my water.

We're getting ready for the RV.Net rally, as well. Not the New York one, but the Wisconsin one. Looks like we'll have about the same weather, though. Today's COLD and WINDY (up to 50 mph gusts). Glad we're not leaving today! Wouldn't want to pull the 5er in those winds. Also supposed to get some rain, and just a few county's north of us, they're calling for SN*W! Mother Nature is NOT being nice! :fryingpan:

I'll be making this for our potluck on Saturday: Posted Image

Made it for the Indiana rally and there wasn't a crumb left! Heather, I'll try and post the recipe later today. It's called "Chocolate Lover's Delight."

Have a great day!

Julie

I don't like when people point out the obvious treatment for common medical conditions, but I'll take a chance here. My heel spurs were so painful in 1994 that I went for treatment after I could no longer walk the 1/4 to work. They suggested injections or shoe inserts. I went with the inserts--from the arch to the heel, and within a few weeks I was pain free. It has remained that way since, although my feet do get tired after hiking or lawn mowing. But this is more likely because of excessive weight, not spurs. Just a thought...

JohnM, did you buy them off the shelf, or have them made? They are $400, so I hesitate. The Dr. Scholl ones do seem to help (have to use the men's style that have a higher arch), and I had an injection in winter that kept me pain-free for about four months. I intend to have another one before I go to Alaska. It hurts like heck but only for a few seconds.

I think any medical advice that relates to actual experience is good. It makes it easier to come to a decision.

Ken, I bet the car looks awsome

Just a quick note as I have to take the dog to the groomer before work. She will come home naked

Work is very busy and I am very tired. I came home last night and all I wanted to do was sleep.

Nicole had to have a sub for supper. Some at work are not feeling well and I think they are giving it to me. :redcard:

Anyway, I have to leave very soon so I will try to check in later.

:kickcan: I just want to go back to bed

Sure hope Sharon gets some rest today and that Toni will be ok

The first pair of inserts I had was scripted by the podiatrist. I had to go to a place that sold orthopedic devices (crutches, etc.) to get it filled. They were not custom made, and not too expensive (although I don't remember how much they were). A few years ago I walked past the window of a small town shoe store and saw boots that were just what I had been looking for. Long story short, the guy wsa selling the same inserts that I had, without a script, for $30. I now have 2 pair.

I said no to the injection in '94 because it was temporary, and I couldn't deal with the idea of going back a few times a year for another shot. I had the same experience with my knee. A brace worked better than the shot (which I did have). I can go for months at a time without using the brace, when the shot would have been a temporary fix. Bottom line: I have a lot of faith in these devices.

The arch supports address only the symptoms but don't cure the problem. I am thinking of surgery; have to find out why my DP doesn't seem that enthusiastic. Might it not work too well, I wonder? or does he just want to sell me custom inserts...

Heather,

To make pictures for the web I use a small application to snag a rectangular portion of an on-screen image. That way a new image with only the pixels shown on my screen are copied; this makes the result about as small as possible.

The camper picture above was just cropped out of a 3mb larger photo using a Mac freeware application called SnapN'Drag.

A similar (actually much better) program for PCs is called PrintKey 5.10. It is a superb freeware program; run it as part of your computer's startup so it is always available.

Configure it so when you press the PrintScreen key cross-hairs appear on the screen. You drag the cross-hairs to outline a rectangular portion of the screen. When you lift your finger the cut portion appears in a window (and on the clip-board) to be saved, pasted into another app, or edited.

The 5.1 version of PrintKey has a few very handy editing tools, resize, rotate, brightness, contrast, etc.

PrintKey is one of the best programs I've ever used. It allows one to easily snag whatever you want from your screen (from another website for example) and embed it in another document.
