Doc..keep safe

Well we got some good news tonight

 Nicole got accepted into the High School she wanted. The principal called to night to tell her she has been accepted. That will tick her teacher off as she said she was not good enough to go to that school. Nicole and I had a meeting with the principal a few weeks ago and he was impressed with her possitive outlook.

It will be a struggle that is true. We have had some long serious talks. She has overcome so many obstacles in her young life and she is determined to succeed. I was not about to sit back and say "sorry I don't believe in you " but I did reinforce it will take alot on your part to make this work.

She was hugging me and the smile...one happy young lady. We will go in this week to pick her options.

:redcard: my grandaughter is going into high school  :worry:

Help me :faint:

GREAT NEWS! I sometimes forget that she has had a plateful to deal with at such a young age, what with her Mom and all that.... I guess because YOU are so caring, it seems like she is living a very good life, but it came with no small amount af heartache, I'm sure.

This will be a big boost in her outlook to life, too - Yes, sometimes YOU do get what you want, Mick! ;)

Ya dun good, Grams....

What great news Wolfie! I'm sure she will do well; don't forget she has a forum full of tutors here to help. ;)
Up early; have to make a delivery before going to forensic accounting class. Actually had to pick up the work yesterday evening after class and went to work and took care of loose ends. Nice it rained a little yesterday morning; brings the humidity up...

Good Morning Everyone!!

It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Chilly, raining, and dark, but what the hey, it could be snow.

Ms. Wolfie; It sounds like you are very pleased. That is good. I hope everything goes great for Nicole. Is this a private school, or maybe a "magnet school"? Regardless, Congrats to her. Now then, having survived two teenage girls, I get the feeling the next few years will not be uneventful.

It's nice to hear from everyone else. Hopefully, all things considered, it will be a wonderous and fruitful day. (gosh, don't I sound swell?)

Well, the coffee is brewing, and the "nutrition bar" is calling my name. I have pledged to forego any "Salisbury Steak Dinners" for the duration of my new imposed diet, so I am "looking forward" to my nutrition bar for breakfast. Anyway, the celebral portion of my day is now behind me, so I can switch off my brain for the next 10 hours, and get busy at work.

You'se guys Be Of Good Cheer!!!

Good morning, all you cheerful people! So much chatter so early in the morning, but, where's the coffee?? OK, I admit I already had mine and the newspaper too...:coffee:

Pat, it is impossible to annoy me after I have had my coffee... :)

Busy morning today; I have to food-shop and then we are having lunch with Mom's friends at Dock 'n Dine in Old Saybrook. That's the one right on the water; big plate glass windows and a wide dock. Boats tie up and the crews come in to eat. Always something going on.

We got about 1/2" of rain yesterday; still drizzly-looking. I might as well get used to it...looks like rain all weekend in the Northeast. I hope I can wash the van before leaving Friday for the Rally, but may have to be content with hosing it down. It is COVERED with maple flowers and pollen.

Wolfie, that is such good news; congratulations to Nichole  . I remember how I dreaded my kids' teens and then it was such fun (ok...most of the time! ) As Ken says, it will not be uneventful, but hopefully it will be fulfilling.

I am off to Stop&Shop; happy day to everybody!

Good Morning, Wolfie...thats great news on Nicole, with you behind her I'm sure she will reach her goals and then some. Looks like a cloudy day here, gotta load up the truck with some logs I got from my BIL to split as firewood.....damn things are infested with ants...as soon as I split one, they were everywhere...now I gotta find a place to dump them. :biting:

You done good, Pat! It was nice to see 6 replies to today's thread made at all hours of the morning, instead of me starting it at 7:30! (I'm sure you can find other ways to annoy people if you really want to   :floorrollin: ).

'morning Folks!

Not much doing around here...warm and cloudy. The local weather guy changes the forecast every morning. Now Thursday is supposed to be dry and cloudy, with the rain pushed into the weekend. But we gotta have some soon!

KAren, this is very good news for Nicole. Although this: "That will tick her teacher off..." is not so good, depends on how it was said. A little success can wet the appetite for more success. Hopefully she will follow through with her part--doing the work.

Nothing has changed with Sharon and Toni. "Maybe today" she will be released from the hospital, but her problem is now focused on constantly low blood glucose 40-60. It goes up for awhile and then goes right back down. Heather, the answer to your question about mileage from the other day is either 26 miles or 60 minutes (Yup, I forgot the question). The 26 mile route is over back roads with turns and switchbacks, so 30 is about top speed for most of it. And Sharon can't afford any more points at this time.

Thanx for making the coffee, Ken (you did make enough to share, didn't you?). I'll go get the donuts. And welcome back, Chris, too bad under dog got lost along the way--that was one of the better avatars I've seen around here.

I do believe I perpetrated a falsehood. But daylight is a mixed blessing. Once it got light here at the shop, and actually getting off my butt and looking outside, there is SNOW on the soft ground. OMG, SNOW!!. I am really gonna be upset if it is enough to score "snow day donuts", being that I won't be able to take part in the festivities due to this ill concieved diet that has been imposed upon me by a well meaning but overly concerned and maybe just plain mean and nasty Peggy.

Oh, sorry, was I venting?

Great news Karen, I know she is delighted.

Warm and muggy but.............COOL FRONT tomorrow.......down to 82 degrees.
Wowzer. :)

No one showed up yesterday to start the work in the back. Someone is here now talking with an engineer...Always something. ;)

Nothing much planned for today other than getting my nails done.

Have a nice Thursday.

Turns out it was a good idea I started this thread last night! I woke up at 9:30!!! Rolled over about 7, rolled back, and lo and behold! it was 9:30. Plus, this rotten pollen has done a number on my sinuses. Work little red pill, work!

Drinking the coffee now :) See you later...
