I slept so soundly last night and woke up at five; chorus of songbirds and the caroling of Napoleon got me up. I want to go fishing! but my sister and her DD and SIL coming for lunch, and I want to make the chicken Parmesan for the Rally next weekend.
Pat, I made a beautiful chocolate cake with fudge frosting; it is in the freezer as well. I was disappointed in the desserts last year; very little homemade stuff, lots of goopy Cool Whip, store-bought cake and instant pudding things. Yes, I am a food snob; it doesn't have to be elaborate, but I like fresh and homemade! Also, a man and his wife coming this afternoon to look at the Sportsmobile. I am not selling it; they are thinking of ordering one. I told them mine is hardly typical, but they can judge the quality of work and the amount of workable space. Have a good spring morning, everyone; will check back later on in the day...

'morning Folks, Yesterday's drizzle moved out and the sky is blue and sunny once again. Cold, tho, a bit below freezing this morning, with a layer of frost on the pasture, but it will warm up quickly. Somebody hit a utility pole by Sharon's house last night, and that left her without digital telephone--so no long call last night, just a few minutes on the cell. That made for a good excuse to go to sleep early. So much for extra sleep, I just got up earlier than usual, but I feel good anyway. Usual plans for today--figure it out as I go. Hopefully get the rest of the garden turned after I do the inside stuff. But for now, feed the dogs, and feed me, and then come back for a few minutes and see what 's going on. Yawl have a good day, JM |

Nothing seems to be going right for Sharon right now, except you.
Hope her luck changes soon. (for the good)No plans today but plenty to do. If it isn't too hot, I'll get some yard work done or maybe clean up some more of the garage. My night to cook, so need to be thinking about that too. |

My eldest son (42) arrives for a few day's visit this PM; I'm looking forward to it a lot. I'm not sure what we'll do but I've rented a car "just in case." He'll spend a lot of time in/on our rivers, the Withlacoochee & Rainbow. The morning is beautiful again. I've been here in central florida since Halloween and am amazed by the weather. Not the temperature so much as the sunshine - of the almost 200 days I've been here I think that fewer than 20 have been grey. Happy campn' Dave & Burnie |

Well, many of you good folk are up and at it already this morning. I layed around way too late, but stayed up late last night, so that's my excuse. Sharon, hopefully, your run of bad things has come to an end. We can all hope so anyway. Heather; Just so you know, Peggy has me on this all protein diet for one more day, and thinking about that cake is making me crazy. Yesterday, we got a lot of those pesky little chores that take more time, money, and effort than they are worth, but they needed doing, and they got did. Today, we are taking the car up to "Krazy Kars", a custom car shop, to get an estimate on prepping it for paint. They do a flawless job of prepping, but are expensive, and their paint jobs are fantastic, but way out of our budget. Thinking with a good prep, we can take it to a number of places around here to be painted for a lot less money. Tomorrow, its back to work again. I will try riding the scooter, so that means rain, cold, and nasty. I will dress for it this time. Maybe next week, we can actually go racing, and thinking about it will get me through the week. Everyone have a great Sunday, and Be Of Good Cheer!!! Ken Gasbarri |

Good morning, all! Poor Sharon - hope things start improving for you and your family. Lovely sun once again replaced yesterday's rain and it's a good thing. I've gotten spoiled with all the nice weather. No big plans today...but something will turn up, I'm sure. Coffee is needed! Have a day

Good Morning. I did some yard work yesterday, we have terrible vines with prickeries all over, they take over a small tree or bush. My skin is scratched a bit itchy. Frank said "check for ticks". That will be the last time I do that.I have a few Gardenia bushes, cut some and put the in a small vase. Smells nice in here. It'a amazing what I can done when I'm not at the computer all day. I think I should stick to housework. Speaking of............I should be dusting the furniture, not my favorite job. I'd rather clean toilets. Chocolate cake sounds delicious...........Hey no one makes (strong) coffee anymore? What's this world coming to?. ![]() Wwhen it's gone someone please make another pot......... It may be time for Ken to order some fancy danish. Have a nice day. on edit......Sorry about Sharon John, give her our best. Too many upsetting things for her to go through. How's her daughter? |

Nothing much doing here today - sorta took a day or two off, got some yardwork done, swept the three-car parking stall, etc. The sand that is used on our road and the hill up to it in winter still hasn't been cleaned up - gotta have a chat with the park manager. There wasn't all that much, but it sure looks better when its clean. Hopes for our first weekend at the lake are not turning out. It was sunny and in the low 70's during the week, but a cold rainy front turned up on Friday - how typical, eh? Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "Sportsmobile"? Sorry to hear that Sharon's been out of touch - don't we rely on our modern communications, though? Imagine what it was like a hundred or so years ago... a letter might arrive that's a month old! Karen, sounds like you are coming along, but don't push it ok? BTW, I'm confused about who Ursala is vs. who Sally is.... where have I got it wrong? Chrissy, perhaps Frank was making a subtle offer to do the checking-for-ticks, and you missed it? |

Mur, leave it to you to say something about the ticks.
Frank can make all the subtle offers he wants but it will not include tick hunting.

Sorry, Ursla and Sally are the same person. I have always called her Sally ( one of her middle names and Ursla is her first name. She feels as an adult Sally is a sissy name. Sorry about that. I forget at times who knows her by what name. Well she does not look so great. The fluid in her left lung is going down slowly though so still no need for chest tubes. They may do a MRI of her chest to find any nasty pools of infection. She is on the caradic unit so her IV has to have filters ..etc.. I am bad. I need to keep my mouth shut. Ok, for those who do not know I will make it a bit more clear. My daughter has been on the transplant list for a double lung on and off heart transplant for @ 13 yrs or more...lost count. She lives with a controlling
thing so you know how I feel about him and I am sure this gives you a drift of the unrest. I have been doing postural drainage for her sense birth so I kinda have it down pat after 30 plus yrs. I know what to look for etc. She calls me Dr Mom. Today when I was at the hospital I heard her tell the physo lady my Doctor wants me to go to have the postural drainage done by a professional now. Oh meeeeee had to open my mouth " whats the matter I thought he knew how to do everything..guess you miss Mom eh" she just said he has no clue on what to do. Hey I showed him a few yrs ago ...oh well.. I know bad mom

Wolfie, we know you are a wonderful Mom.
I think of you and your daughter every day. (BTW, Sally was my grandmother's name; what everyone called her til the day she died at 93. Her daughter, my father's sister Auntie Sal, is in her mid-eighties with no sign of slowing down.)Murray, I certainly do not think you are ignorant! This is it:Sportsmobile My little van camper. The people couldn't have been nicer.I suppose we won't hear from Dave for the next few days; hope he is having fun in the sun with his son....

Thanks Heather - gotcha now. I had an old (and I mean OLD - '54) VW van when we first got married, that had a single bed, icebox, and set of drawers. But I never used it for it's intended purpose much... probably because, instead of a good "week-ender" like the ones you linked to, mine was more of a good "till-you-gotta-take-her-home-at-the-end-of-the-nighter". |
