I'm writing this for a couple of reasons.. A. see where it goes B. figure out if people who "message" will know where the day is C. ask if it is still going to be led by Campfire Soapbox Team (which it used to be) and if the answer is yes, you need to give the Team privileges in here. I think that's all... Edit - this mushes is with the daily thread - which is a decent draw of folks, but not enough - so I wonder if it needs tweaking somewhere. It being the moving, not the daily thread. |

Not clear on A or B. On C, CST was the admins. That account will be used to do things like the Welcome Message. Otherwise forum areas without leaders need them. Volunteers? Anyone? |

Is this B? Friday May 5, 2006, Cinco de Mayo. Moved some Cafe pins. Unclear why it needs two welcomes, but that will be up to whoever volunteers to lead this forum area. Leading a forum area means putting in as much time and effort as you have and desire, no obligations. Anyone? |

I'm here all the time anyway, and the crowds aren't beating the door down trying to get to Critters, so I'll do whatever is needed...unless somebody who isn't leading a forum wants one. Lets wait a see... JM |

With the recent changes I need to update the Leader Guide and get that posted--maybe tonight. That will help describe what all the job of leader entails, mostly keeping a forum area straightened up, getting people to post, a nudge to keep them in line now and then--as much as your interest drives you to do. But one thing's for sure, you can't beat the pay and benefits!

Well, we don't need two welcomes...one was welcome to the forum and one was individual welcomes, which could go in the body of Café. Now I see that anything posted in Café - that would previously have gone in About, goes right into the list of Messages, comments, whatever. That was kind of my question last night. I would suggest that you completely delete the first pinned topics in Welcome...Welcome and Newsletter, and put them - or at least Newsletter - in the batch of five or however many it is. I would further just put Business Cards back in the general population, if it would fall within the dates already there. It's over a year old and doesn't seem to be active at all. Does that make sense? |

Sorry, not exactly. But maybe I know what you're getting at. Let me clarify first. Welcome -- a sub-forum area collection of welcomes and introductions. Newsletter -- a sub-forum area collection of previous newsletters +---Business Cards -- a thread Map - thread for member map Invite -- thread for old Messages welcome/invite Welcome -- thread for forum welcome Friday May 5, 2006 -- today's thread .... -- other threads Those are grouped that way because that's how the forum software groups them and lays them out. I have not control: sub-forum areas, followed by pinned topics, followed by regular topics. Where I don't follow is batches and general population.... Also, while I can take suggestions on changes, if John is volunteering to take lead of Cafe, it would be up to him what to do, how to organize. So I'm going to hold off further changes, but suggestions are welcome. |

OK, I've made a quick revision of the Leader Guide. Anyone interested in leading a forum area should read it first. There's a general overview, and then details on the tools available to leaders. I'm serious, if you think you'd be interested in leading a forum area, or partnering with an existing leader, don't hesitate to speak up. Right now Cafe, Home and Garden, and Technobabble are leaderless. I'd even give up Soap to the right volunteers! Feel free to contact any leader or me to answer questions, or ask them right here. |

Ok, since 3 forums are leaderless, I'll take Cafe (although I do know how to share).
