'morning Folks!

About time I got to start one of these...it's been awhile. Wasn't my idea to be up at this hour. Sharon had to take her daughter (Toni) to the hospital last night, and you know how that can be. The docs finally *found* a room for Toni at midnight. Sharon had to drive for an hour in the dark on country roads to get home after a full day on the go. She didn't want to call at 1a.m. to tell me she got home safely, so she left email--she got home safely. The eye doc will do a procedure on Toni this morning that is too gross to describe: anything that involves needles and eyeballs is too gross to describe. Sharon will do the hour drive back to the hospital later this morning...

Not much else going on around here, except that it's getting light out already...time to start (strong) coffee and make a plan for the day. Might be nice to put "nap" on the schedule, but I don't usually do that sort of thing...breakfast first, then, who knows,.... Yawl have a good day,

JM

John;

Hell John, anything involving a needle is gross. A needle and her eye in the same sentence is........... well, I just hope she does well. Sharon will need some rest after this is over.

I guess this put some prospective on my big adventure of the day. I rode my little Chappy into work today. Should have wore a jacket. Didn't realize it, but it is only 42 degrees out. I got a little chilled on the ride in, but my hands felt like they were gonna be frost bit by the time I got here. Next time jacket, (or shirt) and gloves. It is an 8 mile ride, and it took just under 30 min., so that is do-able. The ride home should hold more adventure since there will be traffic, but I think it should work out.

Well, the work week is half behind me so things are looking up. Gonna grab another cup of coffee, my salisbury steak and get to it.

Again, good luck to Toni. Hope it goes well.

That's too bad about Sharon's daughter, hope she recovers quickly.

Brr, John; even 50* is cold to be riding unprotected from the wind....but you know that now :fryingpan: .

Cool and cloudy here, more rain coming, I guess. I am ready for our guests; my nephew Peter (Maryland), his wife and their two young children. After a week of indecision, I decided what to have: tiny devilled eggs (some curry and some plain), crescent rolls rolled around little sausages and baked, coleslaw, and very little yellow tomatoes stuffed with tuna salad (some with onion and some without; thanks, Pat!). Now I am going down and make lemon poppyseed cupcakes for dessert. I won't have to make supper!

Good luck to Sharon and Toni  What a worry. Hope things resolve quickly.

The sun is supposed to be out, but it is late for some reason. :dunno: We will see...

No big plans today - some errands, etc... after normal chores.

Heather, your menu sounds delicioius :)

Have a day!

I just typed a long "good morning" it disappeared. Don't you just hate that? :fryingpan:

Good morning.........Thanks for the coffee (strong), didn't sleep but a few hours last night. I may need more than one cup, hope there's plenty left. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:
A few things to do today after our camping trip. It's a beautiful morning, went into the low fifties last night. Low humidity..........not for long. ;)

JohnM, yes, that is very, very, very, very, early to wake up...........
What an upsetting thing to go through for Sharon's daughter Toni, hope everything is ok. Keep in touch and let us know how Mom and daughter are doing.

Heather, enjoy your day with your family, you are such a wonderful hostess. Anything you make sound delicious. Let me take that back, most things you make sound delicious. :floorrollin:

Pat, I forgot to ask, how are you enjoying "the room"? Is it warm enough to sit out there, have cocktails? Did Don buy anything else for the room? :fryingpan:

Morning,

John/Sharon2, when Eddie JR was small and playing ball on street, reached to catch and hit corner of a mailbox. They had to stitch so close to his tear duct. Teenie needles and thinnest of threads...so traumatic at the time and now he remembers nothing about being in ER. Hope Toni and Mom will be fine. Just thinking about dark country roads and under those conditions makes me nervous.

Quiet day today. Think I will continue book I started at the beach.

Good day all,

Kate

:) Taking a breather before our guests arrive; I copped out and made a bundt cake instead of cupcakes. Just easier. And glazed it with lemon juice and sugar. And it being a rainy cool day, I made baked stuffed tomatoes instead of tuna. We have plenty of devilled eggs for protein.

A week ago, this rain was being forecast for tomorrow. Now they say partly cloudy and temps in the high 70's. I better wear something light for the all-day trip to NYC (all excited about it, now! ) Oh, and better change my small handbag for one that can hold my camera and a water bottle... :)

Sharon2 sorry to hear about Toni

Well I have been up for a bit and today I will see what I can do. Nicole is feeling a bit better so far, but she does have a nasty cold. The one she so lovingly shared with grandma.

I don't drink coffee at home only work. Odd I know..but my boss makes it for me ;) so it is much better. I think I will make a pot of herbal tea so if you want a spot of tea I will share with you.

Afternoon everyone
Thanks for all yoour thought and wishes for me and Toni.

I just got home from the hospital and she will be there a few more day . Today he went and had fluid drainned from her eye (left) and then had a injection into it and then this afternoon they were going to try and drain more when I let the hospital saw the Dr. before I left and it isn't good at all looks like she wont get her sight back in the eye, They are going to keep trying but not looking good at all.
She has diabites real bad got it at age 10 is when we found out when she went into a coma and I had to fight with the dr. to test her so the Dr. says that this was cause from the diabites. And she is only 26 now. If only the Drs. would have given her the insulin pump before last yr. things may have been different.

Well everyone I need to go and get a few hr. of sleep as I am beat and thanks again.
