Good Morning everybody, up and at 'em. Looks to be a sunny day here, temps in the mid/high 50's.....thank you Heather  . Trying to think of what I can do to occupy myself this morning, I'm sure I'll think of something. Gotta go :bolt:

It's beautiful here too! Sooner or later I have to go into town to push some papers, so I figure it might as well be today, so I am on my way out for awhile. I'm not used to getting in here this late anymore... Be back later to catch up on what I missed.

JM

(I didn't make coffee either).

And good morning to you, Mr. Belly. (or may I call you Beer?)

And good morning to all, thank you all (y'all) for the warm welcomes.

Still working on my early morning routine in prep for going back to work next Monday. I usually don't get up until 5:00 or 5:30, but I will need to be at work at 5:30, so will need to crack it just a little earlier.

Today, I need to get a Colorado driver's licensee. I will be working for the state, driving one of their trucks, and they insist I have one of their licensee. For what ever reason, I look much better on a South Dakota licensee than I do on a Colorado licensee, but I will go along with it this time.

Weather here is not bad for here, but we just left Rockport, Texas and it is much warmer there this morning.

Well, I think I will check in with the Council of the Elders before I go for my licensee. It is good practice trying to stay on top of the "lies and tall stories" game each morning. I just may learn how to get myself out of trouble when "ol' what's her name" catches me going down the drive with a fishing pole in hand. Maybe not, but the challenge is irresistable.

Everyone have a great day. I certainly intend to do just that.

Already at work; I'm such a good boy. :floorrollin: Starting warm up here, probably seen the last of cold weather until November which will come soon enough. I'm still hacking, but getting better by the week. :banghead: Enjoy the day. :spin:

I love a good laugh first thing in the morning. Well, second or third thing actually; I've been up since five. Someone pointed out that DST starts this weekend and I decided to get a head start on it since I HATE being jerked around by things I cannot control.

I am very busy now getting ready for my aunt and uncle, Sally and Jack Lesh, to visit tomorrow for lunch and the afternoon, along with my uncle's sister Ruthie whom they are visiting in New York. These are the most amazing people! In their mid eighties, they flew from La Paz, Baja California (where they spend each winter in a home they own there) to Phoenix, AZ, visited Sal's brother Chris for a few days in Tombstone, then flew to Florida to visit Jack's brother, then took the train to NY, and from here will take another train to Montana and visit one of their daughters in Montana, then continue to Seattle and take the inland waterway back to their summer home in Gustavus, Alaska (north of Juneau). I am in awe of them (always have been).

Back to the salt mines. Just smile pretty, DraginRat; the picture will come out great. If it doesn't, just make sure you never have to show it to anyone...

Good morning all! Sounds like all of you are starting off well :)

Another gorgeous day!!! I'm having my hair cut this morning, pack a little more, hit the pool by 1 and then head down to my in-laws' house, go out for dinner with them, and then Don will pack their car for them. They head north tomorrow.

Glad to hear how nice the northeast is!!! Maybe it is really spring???

Have a day :)

Pat, we have four male robins fighting for territory in our back yard this morning, and purple and gold crocus blooming. If that isn't spring, I don't know what is!

Goodmorning and hugs from Patticake...

No coffee this morning, Im afraid we may have to fire John if he dosent keep
the coffee going..Whats more important, John, taking papers to town or keeping
the coffee hot for the late risers.???
Havent gotten started yet, have just got up..I slept in and didnt mean to but i was
exhaused when i went to bed last night..
Have any of you ever tried to call any of these insurance companies that sell part D insurance, well i stayed on the line for 3 hrs yesterday, trying to find out why moms insurance will not pay for her drugs..we took the insurance 2/17 and was assured we would be able to use it by 3/1, that was an untruth if ever i heard one..
anyway, i was transferred around until i was getting annoyed and still not getting any answers..when i got an agent that i thought was going to help me she asked if i minded if she put me on hold for a min and i say no so guess what she disconnected me..was i ever mad, so i finally called the agent that sold the insurance to us, and did i let him know he had an unhappy camper...well, after leaving 3 messages for him he assured me, mom would be able to get her meds today , so we will see...i dont know what people are going to do, if these big companines, dont stop transferring people...and passing the buck..in that 3 hrs time i could have done lots of things..Social Security is even worse than insurance companies...ok ive complained enough, and really thats not my nature, but its out of my system now..sorry to rant to you guys but im happy i have you..thanks...pat

Morning all - been up since 7:20 this morning, had cereal and am on my second cuppa now, that will probably be all for the day.
I think I see a nap somewhere in my day today - sleeping poorly again because of my ribs from that display of "unplanned gymnastics" last weekend - I feel like I have been kicked by a horse.
Looking at sunshine again and a high of 17c./63f. The rhubarb is sprouting up through the ground. I still have to get the darn fruit trees pruned, but it will have to wait a couple more days, I would say.

Patti,
I know what you mean. I'm not sure how the elderly especially deal with those lengthy menus. Getting a live person who speaks this language can be a challenge. Some companies are much better at customer service than others.
Good luck with your mom's meds.

PRT, the elderly just cannot handle these things or my mom couldnt..
She has a problem remembering what was told to her, and honestly im
a few years younger than her and i have trouble myself..
Humana, has the poorest customer service of anyone i have ever tried to
deal with, outside of social security...
Im the one that has to handle most of it, for my family, i guess because of
lack of confidence, but heck im about to lose mine and then i dont know what
they will do...i very seldom have a day, that something like this dosent occur..
but all i can do is the best i can do...anyway, thanks for answering my post..patti

Heather, you brought back a flood of memories for me when you mentioned the Lesh family, We lived in Juneau for 25 years, and the Lesh family is legendary in that area. True pioneers in living in the "bush" and raising the brightest kids. I used to fly over to Gustavus quite often for work (this is the closest village to the entrance to Glacier Bay) the first time you fly there it is a shock to find this really HUGE airfield with north/south, east/west runways that was built during the war to use for ferrying aircraft north and to Russia. Quite often had to "buzz" the Field to chase off the wolves or moose before landing. Anyway, please tell them hello from the Parker family and we sure are glad to hear they are doing so well......

Keeping the coffee hot? :dunno:

I've been living in Delhi for 3 or 4 years, and have never walked to the village before. It was actually very pleasant--might make a habit of it just to get some exercise and control my blood sugar. Couldn't ask for a better day to walk, either. It was chilly on the way down, but in the 50's by the time I headed home.

Of course, I made coffee when I got back. I didn't realize how addicted I am until I took the first sip! But now that the pot is empty, it's time to get with the outdoor stuff. Then one last hot fire tonight to *scrub* the pipe, and tomorrow will be the day to clean the fireplace incert. I don't realize how much time heating with wood takes up until I don't have to do it. But heating season starts early around here. Less than 6 months and it will start all over again. Geez, I can sure write when I'm wired.. :yammer: but I will stop now...

Yawl have a good afternoon.

John
