'morning Folks, Word is that Heather is back in the NE. Looks like she brought some Florida sunshine with her too! Not a cloud on the northeast radar,... can't ask for a better start to the day than that! I have to get moving, so somebody else can make coffee today... there's nobody here to drink it 'sept me anyway, so start fresh when yawl wake up! I must say, I am rather pleased with myself this morning. I got all of the firewood moved yesterday (22 X 7) probably 4 face cords. Then I got the gravel raked on the garage floor, and put up a few new stakes in the driveway to keep careless drives off the lawn. Not too bad, considering I didn't get any exercise shoveling snow this winter. Welcome back Heather, and yawl have a good day, JM

Wow John, keeping busy eh. thats a lot of wood to move, hope you had a wheel barrow or something to move it with, that would of taken me at least a 12-pack....I measure things by how long it takes to consume my favorite beverage. Sunny outside and hopefully the temps will bump up a little bit more....things to do outdoors you know.....but till then, anyone want to help take down Wallpaper

Good Morning, I'm up a little early today, in fact earlier than Heather.
Ok John coffee's made in case you didn't have your morning cup yet. You deserve a break today. Wow you did a lot of work yesterday.
Rick, sorry I can't help. Beautiful cool, sunny morning, lots of sunshine. It will start to warm up in a few days. I'm not looking forward to the summer........I'll take the cold weather any day (that is in Florida). Happy Monday.

Good morning all!! Woke about 5ish to the sound of sprinkles on the roof. I love that sound, BTW. My immediate thought was "Dylans bed is getting wet", so I threw on my robe and went to stick his bed in the basement...............as soon as my behind was back in bed, it stopped. Damn dog.Going to go to water aerobics today. Haven't been in a while, so really need to get back into the habit. Made copies of the cd's so later when it is HOT around here in the daytime, Greg and I can do them in the evening hours.
At least that's the plan.
Rick, as my father would say "That wallpaper is very busy". And there is so much of it. Have fun. If I were closer, I'd help.................:pound: How many Coors Lights is THAT job gonna take?????????

....a couple of 30 packs at least. Terri wants to just paint over it, but with my luck the paint will soak thru and loosen the glue and star bubbling off the wall in spots.....gonna do it right the first time around. ...you should invest in a place up North for the summer.....I know of a nice Townhouse that may hit the market soon....maybe , it's roomy enough not to feel cramped, yet small enough to easily maintain.....special pricing too

Goodmorning from Mississippi.... Finally, the sun is shining brightly so hopefully it will warm up today. Rick, i checked out your wallpaper project and you have lots of work to do, but as someone else has said, thats one more busy pattern.. im anxious to see what you are going to replace it with..Please keep us posted, as this is the thing i really like to do at my home, of course not take down wall paper , but any kind of interior decorating.. I can see that room lightening up a lot when you get the wall paper off, so better get an extra beer for the light...I dont mean to be critical so please take this as constructive critism...Ill let you critize mine any time you want and i have plenty of it... all have a blessed day...Patti |

. I'm always open to suggestions. We are'nt 100% sure what we'll do once the Wallpaper is down, figure we got time to think about it. One thing is definite, the backsplash is getting Ceramic Tiles....maybe a couple of decoritive ones mixed in. The pictures were taken with the lights off, there are 4 cans with 100 Watts each....it does get pretty bright in there so we have to be careful of the paint color.....and it's usually not as cluttered, should of cleaned up for the shot

The only paper I have ever removed nicely was paper I hung myself - since I sized it properly. When our house was painted last year it took one man one entire day to remove the paper doing up our stairway - it had been there for 35 years, was in decent shape, but had been hung improperly. What a job for that poor guy...I knew it would be horrible since we had removed the dining room paper years before - put up by the same owners. Miserable job. Hopefully yours will be easier to remove, Rick. I'd have a case of cold ones on hand - in a BIG BLUE COOLER!!!! Gorgeous day here - primo forecast for our last week!!!! Don is playing golf, and I'll be doing more packing, etc...The pool is a definite today - not a cloud in the sky. Have a day

JohnM, thanks. I did my best to bring you a bucketload of sunshine...it is beautiful here and I think spring has actually arrived. Supposed to go to the 70's by the weekend. Rick, good pictures...and better you than I...just looks like a lot of work! I put some of the better pictures on the travel and camping forum in thumbnail version. To see some of the rest, here's the link to the Photobucket site: Florida It takes a long time to download and resize and title them, so I didn't put anywhere near all of them (some weren't that great either).. Wish I could find a quicker way. My brother Dave built a wonderful new fence for my chickens while I was gone, with a real gate. He also installed three new nest boxes, which the hens are still in the process of checking out. I am up to my hips in laundry and cleaning tasks...have a great day, everyone.

Very nice pix! I tried to "borrow" Sundown as wallpaper to replace the Great Wall of China, but the res wasn't high enough. JM |

John, years ago we used wood exclusively for heat, so I can appreciate what a job that was to move.... are you stiff and sore today? Moving pretty slow myself after the tumble down the steps Saturday; nailed my ribs pretty good. Why does it always get worse a couple days later, before it gets better? (Grrrr.) DW's happy though, the waterbed is up and filled again. I'm not envying you the wallpaper job either, Rick, especially if it is from before the "easy-strip" stuff they've been making for some time now. That old stuff was murder, even with a steam-stripper. Gonna be a pretty quiet day around here, methinks.... |

Mur, Sorry about the ribs I really think our brains think we are still 38, 46...pick a number...but when we do something simple our body says, in my case, "You are 62, lady!!! Don't do this again without help!!" I did see something interesting this afternoon...a gopher turtle. The people with the site right by the pool and shuffleboard courts (who are very nice) have two chairs turned over and a stick in the ground right there. It's the den of this little turtle. It moved faster than some of the big box turtles I've seen here, and it ate weeds. They have the chairs there to protect the den from cars or bikes, since it is right by the pool. They named him Nubby - he was there last year too. |

Naah, 4 face cords was just a warmup for next weekend. Then comes a truck load. Hopefully close to 7 face cords. That will take about 5 hours. (or a 12pk on the other time scale).
That must hurt! (sorry, now wise-ass graphics). There hasn't been a post on this thread on 8 hours, and it's after 10 already. Does this mean I'll be getting the last word? It will be a first. JM |

My parents have "pet" gators who visit their place.
They had a large turtle as well. That is until the gator ate it.
Pat, they are headed back in a couple of weeks to close up the place. My Mom wanted me to tell you.........I told her this was your last week there. She laughed and said "next year". Mur, yes strange that it usually gets worse before it gets better. Not fair. Hope you get better quickly!
