'morning Folks,

It's after 6 and there's nobody here but me--not even a guest. But somebody has to get in early to put the (strong) coffee on...so here I am. Actually, I woke up and 4 and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally found a new ISP yesterday with local access, and I couldn't wait to finish setting up the new account!! Email started coming in right away--it was truely a beautiful thing....

I spent 16 hours at the keys yesterday, and my anatomy won't permit a repeat of that today....besides, there is too much to catch up on now. I'm already 2 days late dipping the oil tanks.

No snow fell last night, and the moon was shining through the kitchen window when I got there... It's 13F now, but all the snow melted yesterday even tho it never got warm. Soon enough it will be time to complain about the humidity, so I'll shut up about the weather....

Yawl have a good day, I didn't check yesterday's thread yet...just wondering what Heather and the crew had for dinner...something special, no doubt!

JM

"good" morning. Geeze and I thought it was bad to have a drunken cowboy as president, it is much worse to have them as neighbors. With over a million acres, one would think that they could find a spot that was not right next to me...

I'm packed up and ready to roll at first light.

Good morning John. If you want to test your new account, let me know.

Rain is predicted for later today, but I'll be gone. Have you ever been in the mode of "anywhere but here?" If it rains on the loud drunken cowboys, I will not be upset. In fact, I might even chuckle.

It was a combination of the guns and banging on my door that caused me to decide to leave. Some morons feel more secure when they camp right next to someone who has found an isoloated spot. I am used to that. But it is not polite to fire guns next to my mh, nor to get drunk/high and bang on the side of my mh to ask for drugs.

I am sooooo out of here, as the kids would say. I'll stop and leave a note at the ranger station because these idiots are just throwing their beer cans all over the place. I will let the very cute ranger deal with it.

Doc, it sounds as if you will be much better off out of there. What a shame to have a peaceful spot ruined by yahoos. :biting:

OK, JohnM, you are hungry? we ate at the Ballyhoo Grill, a very nice and fun place. I had rack of lamb; enough for three people and cooked perfectly rare as I like it. YUM! I almost never get lamb and it was so flavorful and tender. I ate half last night and the rest for breakfast; I almost think it tasted even better this morning! Caesar salad and good bread with this, and sauteed baby spinach with garlic.

For dessert, Tah-Daahhh! We shared bananas Foster. I've seen this prepared many times but never tried it.

The waiter wheels a big cart to the table, lights a gas ring and in a big skillet, puts butter and about a half-pound of bananas, cut in half and sliced lengthwise. As this heats, he adds a lot of light brown sugar and some cream, then some banana liqueur and some Cointreau. when this is almost boiling, about a half cup of dark rum is added to the pan, swirled and slightly tilted and the mixture bursts into blue flames. Still tiilting to encourage the burning, the sauce is spooned up over and over until the flames are completely out.

On a platter are two big cylinders of good vanilla ice cream wrapped in crepes. The bananas and sauce are poured over this and served. it was all the three of us could do to finish this and we brought over a cup of the wonderful sauce home.

The cost for the miraculous dessert? $6.85!!!!!

Are we hungry yet?

The day is grey and humid with a light breeze. Last night about 1, it was windy and a pack of coyotes howled like goblins outside the house. I never heard them before but I know in my bones, they were coyotes. Such a eerie sound; I know now why Western cattle would stampede when that sound came in on the wind.

Looking forward to seeing Pat and Don, John and Cheryl today. Drinks here and dinner out.

Geez Doc............good thing you didn't let Orson "handle" the yahoos..........with guns and all. :faint: Good idea to move along.

Chrissy, hope you and all of your visitors have a wonderful time. I know you will!!!!

Nothing much going on here. Called in sick to work yesterday. Just felt lousy and slept most of the day. Not a lot better today, but hopefully will be by the time I have to go in, at 1:30. Doc is right about the weather..........40% chance of rain today. Then temps go up dramatically, 80's by the weekend.

Have a great one all!!

I am at the ranger station next to the big highway. Up until now, the urge was to get out of there. Now I have to decide where to go next. Orson has his own opinion, of course. Orson was rather insistent about going westward. Oh well... I think he just wants lunch in the Forge by the Forest in Carmel, but who knows? He predicts disasters so well that I have learned to trust his instincts.

It sounds like there is a huge confabluation in FLA. even if I drove flat out, it would be three days before I could get there. Too bad. I would love to actually meet y'all. I keep inviting you to dinner, but no one ever comes.

Today is grocery day. for those who live on the road, you are nodding. For those that are not full-timing, this is a huge deal. I shop for a full month in the boonies. This includes both fresh and frozen foods. This takes planning. Three trips. Three trips to the store. If you don't know why it takes 3 trips, ask me about it.

West it is. Orson is happy. I don't know why he wants to go west, but this is an equal opportunity mh.

Morning all..... nothing to exciting here so far, but it's only a bit past 9:30. Mixed sun/cloud today, high 12C./mid 40sF. Forecaast is for cloud and showers midweek and back to mixed by Saturday. But the overnight lows are now out of the freezing range, which makes a big difference - and Thursday is calling for a high of 18C/65F.... that's sounding good!

Jackie, I've been wondering about your map-sig for quite a while, I'm just going to break down and ask: It looks like you "parachuted" from New England into the Mid-West; what's up with that?

Have a good one, all!

Mur, the "colored" states are states we have actually spent at least one night in since starting fulltiming..........the ones between New England and the west, were "drive thru" states. :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

But perhaps parachuting would be cheaper than diesel fuel. :faint: :faint:

Jackie,
Hope you feel better. Now I have to go into the kitchen and bother Chrissy - and get a drink. Frank and Don are watching American Idol. I'll pass through the family room and speak to them on the way. Heather is loading her van for an early morning getaway.
We just got home from a nice dinner.
See you later!!!
