Come on rain? There's talk of lifting the state wide burn ban in certain areas. It'll be good to grill a burger again. |

Dave and Joel beat me to it!
Good morning to you all. What a beautiful morning here in Florida, and the first day of spring! While my good hostess and host sleep in, I have been having a cup of coffee on the back patio and watching and listening to the huge variety of birds here. There is a joyful chorus in the woods, and a bluebird singing in the tree overhead, while cardinals and grackles compete for the feeders. It's beautifully cool and dry, and all the azaleas are in full bloom. Now I can't stand to be indoors; have to go back out. Later..... |

Heather, you make me feel like a Pagan at Christmas. It's 19F here, and not expected to break freezing for a day or two. It snowed again last night too! But I better stop the New York weather talk,.... I spent most of the weekend with my friends from delhitel tech support. They still can't figure out why some email comes to my account and some doesn't. I can't believe that I'm am the only person having this problem, since the mail isn't getting as far as *delhitel's* server. Not much else on the agenda in 19 degrees, another indoor day. I did speak directly with the roofer this morning. He asked if it was supposed to rain this week. I figured, that will get him here finally! Nope, he wanted to stop by when it's raing and watch the water come int! There's got to be a better way! Yawl have a good one...I'll be back later to find out what Chrissy served for lunch. JM

Good morning, been up for awhile (not as early as Heather) now sipping my coffee. It's a beautiful morning, Heather and I are sitting in the backyard watching the birds. It's supposed to go into the low 80's today, I'm sure the air conditioner will be on this evening. Be back on and off during the day.

First day in weeks that the sun is shining and what a difference it makes. Crocuses are shooting up like little missiles. Still not very warm, only 7ºC but what a difference. Heather, have a great time. |

Good morning all. It is a beautiful morning here. The coffee is hot, man and beast (oops, sorry Orson) have been fed, the birds are singing, and all is well. There is a bird couple setting up housekeeping in a nearby bush. I watched them scavenging for nesting material. Orson was only too happy to volunteer to help them. He loves to be brushed. Now they have a nice big pile of Orson fur to make the nest nice and comfy. They acted as if they had won the lottery! The last heels of "fresh" bread are nice and crusty, so it will be French onion soup for dinner tonight. I'll make plenty, in case any of you care to stop by. Dave, you surprised me when you told me that it was the Vernal Equinox. Do you mean to tell me it is March already? I'll keep my eye out for Druids dancing in the desert, LOL. Heather and Chrissy, I know what you mean about just sitting outside, sipping good coffee, and listening to the birds. I need to get one of those software programs that has all of the bird pictures and calls/songs, so I can identify more of them. I have long forgotten who makes this, but you can search by characteristics (size, coloration, etc.) and then click a button to play their songs, to see if it is a match. If you know the one I mean, please refresh my memory. Good morning Karen. Working today or just enjoying life? John and Rick, what can I say? It must be karma. Just kidding of course... I had to drive a long ways to get out of the cold, rain, and snow. So what happens? The ranger tells me that they have gotten an abnormally large amount of rain here in the desert since I arrived. Karma again? |

Oh I agree Rick. It is snowing here big time. North of us got 22 cm and now it has found us. First day of winter/spring for me.. I wanna go home and hide under the comforter in the middle of my bed. Yes, Doc I am at work but I need to go home. Little on the pale side today. Sitting out in the warm quite fresh air would go over really well right now. Just the silence.. just not a good day for many reasons.

It's "Springy" here - sunny (again!) and about 10-12 C. (50-ish F.) However, the day has been off to a poorer start than expected - when Bert was making the bed this morning (king-size water bed), she got the old "wet-hand" when tucking in the bottom sheet on one side. Sure enough, letting go at the seam. It hasn't done badly - this last mattress-bag we bought was 8 years ago, but they are getting harder to find these days. None in town, finally located one in Kelowna, a city about 150 miles away. Will be "next-dayed" to us, but the day was 1/3 shot before we found them, so it might be Wednesday. And then it has to be filled and heated. So I guess we have a couple nights, at least, in the Queen-size spare bed - not used to being squished together..... it's going to be like the RV. Harumph! <_< |

Geeze, yeah - I'd forgotten about that.... In my earlier Canadian forum, I regularly ranted about that two-bit imitation of Yuppie-Heaven, Kelowna BC. They somehow think they are our "rivals" in BC; bunch of Tofu-eating, Audi-driving Starbuckers who wouldn't dare venture outside without their Ray-Bans and spf 30..... Gerry (an occasional member here and from the province of Inferio) thought it was hilarious that someone from BC hated someplace ELSE in BC, instead of Ontario, for a change. |
