I haven't been up all that long - long enough to reconnoiter what's going on in the nighbourhood, that's all. I seem to have shifted to "Hawaii Time", but at least I AM sleeping solidly now! (Doc prescribed something that is not supposed to be habit-forming; so far so good.) What a blessed relief, sitting here by my self and playing computer Solitaire at 3 in the morning was getting pretty depressing.... :(

Mixed bag on the weather scene today, then we are slated for true Spring-like conditions for several days; lots of sun and highs in the 50/60 range, F.

Good afternoon all! Another gorgeous day. We were out of here before 10 to get to this famous bakery in Yalaha. Every Saturday they have free ehtertainment from 10-12 outside the very charming bakery in kind of a biergarten type area. Bring your own folding chairs. Their bakery is mobbed as is their deli with a variety of delicious sandwiches, sweet tea, German beers, etc... We met two other couples and had lunch. Very crowded. We figured there were 500 people there.
I think that's about all there is to Yalaha. It's just south of Leesburg. The entertainment was good too. He sang a lot of Irish songs.

Time to hit the pool!!!

Keep having a day :)

It has been a beautiful day, so glad you're enjoying our weather Pat. :)
Just heard from Heather, she should be here sometime tomorrow after lunch.
Look forward to her visit. I'm sure she'll sign on and say hello. Actually I could give her one of the laptops. :)

Good afternoon all!  Another gorgeous day.  We were out of here before 10 to get to this famous bakery in Yalaha.

I finally dug out my atlas and got a fix on your area with that info, having never been to Florida. Too bad you don't know Andrea (MillsFamily) from The Door and AtC - she is in Avon Park, only about 50 miles south. I received the lap-quilt from her today, btw (pic to follow if I can remember how to get it over to the computer.)

Took a bit of head-scratching, but I remembered....

Found out at the pool that the Yalaha bakery had been featured on the Food Network as a bright spot in Central Florida. We like this area a lot. Next year will be our sixth year in this cg. Got the same site. In fact, five of us have the same sites again. It's turning into a little neighborhood.

The area is growing like crazy. Out with the citrus groves, in with the homes. There are lots and lots of lakes. If you still have the atlas out, we are located on Rt. 27, just south of the Florida Turnpike. I think the town is actually Minneola, but the mailing address is Clermont.

It just struck me - I don't know if I mentioned it before, but all the "patches" are signatures of Forum-members I know, where Andrea hangs out.... not sure how she did it, but somehow folks sent pics of their sigs or something and she was able to transfer them from her printer to cloth, I guess.

That was a very nice, thoughtful thing for her (and them) to do.
