Pat, Ed said to tell you $2.79 lb Snow Crab Clusters at the store. It said "wild product of Canada" ;) Should we get you some?

Kate

Boy, I don't know where that could have come from.... you sure can't get it for anywhere near that price around here. And if I'm not mistaken, the only place in Canada for crab is the northen BC coast.

Pat, we can trade you what you have left in freezer for Snow crabs :)

I am back, having done the shopping, gotten Mom's car washed, dealt with lunch, did two loads of laundry, and made a blueberry pie. Turkey breast in the oven and the house is smelling great...my sister can arrive any time now. Still haven't heard from her... she does have my cell phone #...:fryingpan:

Kees, the weather has been pretty nice up to today; having spring showers and it is rather raw and chilly. The chickens gave up and retired to their roosts by 3 pm. Can't say I blame them.

There are a few patches of dirty snow left in the shady spots on the north sides of buildings but most is gone. We did have a lot this year!

Heather, your chicken can count themselves lucky. All poultry here is kept inside or under cover for fear of the Asian bird flu.
So far non here in the Netherlands but in the surrounding country’s there have been a few cases. In Germany even a cat died of it. (Apparently not un-common).

My eldest, Liam has left home and bought his own place. My second son, Kevin is about to join the British army (if they have him) so I can feel an attack of the dreaded “empty nest syndrome” coming up.

Kees, they all have to grow up and leave the nest sometime. What they are doing is healthy. You and Josie are young and active; now you can make this new phase a fun and memorable one by doing fun things that you couldn't before. Enjoy, and remember we are here to talk to about it...

We are hoping no avian flu here, ever....:worry: I would rather not have chickens at all, than make them stay inside all the time.

Wolfie, is this not the show that you usually get to work and stay over and enjoy a bit or is that another one?

Alas, I guess we've gone another year without snow. :faint:

I'll take the snow and give anyone the sunny, hot, 86 degree weather in Gainesville today. Would someone tell mother nature it's only March. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :fryingpan:

My guess is you'll be wishing for that before long.

No Karen, it is CLEARLY my sister-in-laws fault. She has offered to come back this summer to cool it off for a bit. :floorrollin: With MY luck, she'll bring more heat. :faint:

Apparently the snow on that and surrounding mountains is quite an oddity here, since I have seen a lot of AZ residents taking pics of it. Looking at it makes me think I am in the Rockies again. :floorrollin:

I remember being in Flagstaff in March in the 80's, seeing snow on the cactus and thinking how strange it was.

Stranger still in the lower elevations. I repeat, look for a major bloom of desert flowers this spring! (allergic people beware!).

Get your cameras ready.

Jackie, great pictures!

Heather, from what I hear, last year it rained nearly every day here. The mountian behind us, Superstition Mountain, was green and very colorful from all the flowers. It has been brown since we got here. :floorrollin:

I will look for flowers this spring.

Mud....let me tell you a true story about mud. A guy I work with was driving down a local street that was oddly covered in mud....so much, that he couldn't avoid driving in it....kicking up on the car behind him, what a mess!....he rounded the corner and found a guy outside his Septic Truck quickly closing the valve :faint:
