Good afternoon. It is 75°F here with beautifully blue skies. It is a learning opportunity. We both went swiming in the desert, yesterday. Orson, do you f***ing understand yet what I have been telling you? <insert Doc's growl here>.

I, as a silly human, can understand such non-faith-based concepts as hydrodynamics. I chose our campsite accordingly. Orson has faith in me and knows nothing about science. Doc said, uphill. Oh, maybe a little bit more uphill.

The dry wash is now a raging flying river. I am not exadurating about this. I have suvival skills, but and love to raft the wild water, but I would be no match for this. How do I teach a dog about this?

Hmmmmm........

I know what I did. what did you do?,.

Doc, are you saying the water caught you both??? You shouldn't have to teach Orson this. The dog knows that water is coming, long before you do; hears it and smells it. I think his instinct should be to get to higher ground pronto. And he is not the one who gets to decide where to pitch the tent. Thank goodness.

Has he learned about the jumping cholla yet?

Heather, I hope the cat scan helps you find out about your back pain. I had my first cat scan after I conked out in the hospital last month and did a swan dive into my mashed potatoes. They thought the plumbing had come undone, I guess. Anyway, they gave me the die in a shot, and it burned all over. And I mean BURNED! Still, it wasn't as bad as draining the fluid in my chest, and now they tell me we need to do that again. I won't tell you just how they do it, but it is definately not the most fun I've had in an afternoon!

I'm not going to touch Chrissy's toenails or her fetish. If I do, I NEED a cat scan, on my head!

Oh, Lon, I am sorry to hear it. Still, as my Mom says at such times, it's better than the alternative.

(I do know how they do it; remember, Mom had chest surgery last July.)

The dye felt oddly, pleasantly hot, like somone poured hot syrup into the top of my head and it ran right down to my toes. I can't say it burned. I didn't mind that at all.

What I did NOT like was the thick, slimy, citrus-flavored white stuff they made me drink ("Try to get it all down within ten minutes, dear.")

Heather, I'm going on the road for all next week, so I've managed to postpone the fluid thing. In the meantime, I'm doing my best to convince them that I LIKE a little sloshing, I need the fluid, the best people are all getting chest fluid, it's sexy even!

Oh well, at least I can brag later about being in bed, naked with two strange women for an afternoon...

I had a vertibral disc taken out 30 years ago. Even then, they could do great things, and now you ought to get everything taken care of and not even know it. I hope so, because a nagging back ache can change your personality and your outlook.

On edit - you do realize we're talking about ourselves in terms of the medical procedures we've had. Geeze! Just shoot me now, before I tell you about what color all the little pills are...

One word about Peonies, from experience.

When the blossoms are budding out, they ooze a fair bit of "juice" - a real "Ant-Magnet".

Busy day on here! Cell phone connection :banghead: :banghead: Nine at night finds not too many home :( Hope all things with daughters, CAT scans, relative visiting and anything I neglected work out well. What is with the feet?

We had a nice day - met two couples for lunch at 12:30 at Mission Hill. Very nice complex in Howey-in-the-Hills (that is really the name of a town.) Conferences, meetings, hotel, homes, condos - beautifully landscaped, great restaurants and private golf course. Also saw the biggest alligator ever sunning herself on a bank. Then we all came back here for a drink or more and they never left until after 6 - then I did laundry.

Since I won't return until tomorrow night - after we meet Chrissy and Frank for dinner   in The Villages, tomorrow's plan includes getting my hair cut. And then whatever.
They better have fixed the heater in the pool :fryingpan: :fryingpan:

Sooo....have a day - tomorrow :)
