Well March sure came in like a Lion for most.

So who better to start the daily thread but a Leo :tiphat:

'morning folks,

Wow, February went by just too fast...not so good! If the winter goes by fast, what will happen to the summer?

First of the month: run the gen and the lawn mower, charge the coach batteries, charge the truck battery, change filters, change underwear (just wanted to see if you're paying attention), and a few other details. Shouldn't take more than half the day!

The sun was shining by the time I got up. I'm not used to that, but it's ok now and then. Three inches of lake-effect snow fell overnight. According to the local weather guy, it melted to .02 of an inch of liquid--very, very light--that much snow should equal .3 of an inch of liquid.. Five inches predicted for tomowwow....but it will end eventually. Ok, enough clilmatology....off to get things done...thanx for the coffee.

JM

Be careful shoveling, Karen! Good coffee, btw :)

No lion down here. Gorgeous, but chilly, morning - up to 80 later on. I have to go to "work" at 10. I'm helping a pool friend with some computer problem. Hopefully helping, that is.

Have a day :)

At a wait of 15 seconds to log on, a wait of twenty seconds to get to the Messages page, another wait of 13 seconds to come up with this page....I am not going to be posting here much today. What is going on here? It was terribly slow a lot lately. I sit here watching the little circle go round and round and....

It isn't my service. Everything else works like lightning. Try ORF; click-click-click! Chris?

Bright and sunny here today and lots to do. Laundry and making beds this morning; taking Mom to lunch (my treat) and to the bank. Then I'll do a little food shopping this afternoon. Storm coming tomorrow. Let's hope it's the last for awhile!

Happy first of March, everyone!

Good morning!!!

Had some sprinkles yesterday, but I think the try streak continues. Haven't watched the news yet to see if they got measurable rain at the airport, which is the "official" measuring spot.

When I opened the blinds on the back windows this morning, there were 2 coyotes just over the fence. They were trotting off. Then saw a third one. Interesting. The vacant lot behind us has houses on three sides and the RV resort on the fourth. Not to mention all the other roads there are between us and the mountains or desert. They must be desperate for water. They have showed mountain lions on the news in peoples back yards.........water must be scarce in the wilderness for them. Reminds me, I must remember to empty Dylans water bowl at night. Scared of rabies or something. :faint:

Got a long day at work today, a short one tomorrow, then off until at least Monday. Greg's brother and SIL are coming for a visit next week. Should be a fun time!

Karen, safe shoveling. JM, glad about the underwear thing. :floorrollin:

Have a great day all!!!
Greg, Dylan & Jasper too!

Heather, I am sorry that you are counting seconds. Orson counts in milliseconds. "Doc, I asked you for my breakfast 2 milliseconds ago. Have you forgotten? Are you going to starve me?"

I am not awake yet and I shouldn't be, since I was up most of the night. I awoke with a very scary thought. I create machines that create machines. What do those machines create? Am I a cog in a very bad sci-fi movie?

I can tell you exactly when these dreams began. I was filling up the tanks in my mh when this woman said, "hi doc, my name is Sarah Conner". it didn't hit me then. But it crept into my dreams.

LOL! I am the same way when deprived of a normal mealtime.

Those seconds seem awfully long when you are waiting to read a post or a thread, and they add up. It's plenty fast now; this comes and goes.

Anyone else experiencing this lag?

Good afternoon, Gettin' ready to head off to work. Got into a little discussion with Terri this morning, she wants me to sell my truck and get one of those cross over vehicles.....can't imagine me driving one of those, her beef is the fuel bill.....$75-80 per week back and forth to work only.

We're home, I"m exhausted but nice to be in Gainesville. The azaleas are starting to bloom and the Magnolia X Jane tree is starting to put out a few beautiful pink flowers. I'll try to post a photo tomorrow.

Karen, I'm a "leo" :)

Rick, wouldn't know what we would do without a truck, keep "discussing".

Patticake, I'll try to have donuts ready for you in the morning with coffee. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Heather, I noticed this site slow myself but haven't had has many problems as you have. It needs a boost. :pistols:

Doc, it's almost 5 p.m. and I'm not awake yet. Tried the Kona coffee but it had an aftertaste. Need to find a new brand.

Jackie, two coyotes, are you concerned about Dylan? How was your cajun dinner last night?

Spring has sprung. Used the AC for the first time this year. Now I'll have to get the old lawnmower out and check it out.

Whew!!! I'm pooped! My feet are barking at me, too.

The weather was another early taste of Spring today, so I went out in the backyard - first time in a couple weeks - and by Gar, things are starting to bud out. (The roses and other perennials, though not all of them.) We have three Russian Olive trees that we decided late last year have to go - they're 15 to 20 feet high and growing uncontrollably.

SO, "Bright-Boy" here decided to start pruning them down to the trunks, so they can be cut out. (Russian Olives have nasty 2 inch spikes all along their branches, so you can't just wade into the tree to start hacking.)
As usual, I got carried away until all three were done and ready to have the trunks cut to ground-level.... then I stopped for a short break. That's when you realize that you're beat!
PLUS - I guess I don't have the strength I did before last winter's nonsense, anyway.

After owning homes for nearly 30 years, you think I'd know better by now - take it in steps; I could just hear my wife over my shoulder 'You don't have to do everything in one day, you know..."
