Good morning; where is everyone? I see my new friend Dave (Newarts) has joined us, posting in Critters. Welcome, Dave! You will find us a bit on the giddy side, but harmless.... Another cold, cloudy morning here; supposed to snow later on...one to two inches. The groundhog was right again! More later. Sister's family coming tomorrow afternoon to celebrate my nieces' 40th (! ) birthday; I have to clean the house.

Good morning from Charlotte, North Carolina. Not too sure of the termperture but looking outside, it looks cold. I think one night next week it's supposed to go down to 23 degrees at night. Same routine when I get here I'll do a big food shopping, cook some nice meals. Nothing like having Mom come for a visit.
I think I'll buy Francis a new coffee pot, the one he has now is out of style. Frank made him a nice piece of wood molding to go over his window in the living room. Last time we were up he put up window molding on Francis's kitchen windows. Nice having Dad come for a visit. Have a nice time with your family Heather, before you know it you'll be here. |

The sun is going in and out down here, but it's already 70. Quite breezy too so it's very pleasant. Don took his dad down to Kissimmee for some Bassmaster thing, outdoor expo, I'm not sure what. Nice lazy Saturday. We move sites tomorrow and then are going to The Villages with a crowd from home for drinks, dinner and socializing. I think there will be ten of us. Kind of a funny site move. If you envision a square divided in fourths; we are moving from the lower right to the upper left - I'll take the patio through the back yards The new site has a better exposure re afternoon sun on the patio side - it's in the shade. We'll be there until April 1. Everyone have a day |

Good morning everyone!!! Pat, we are debating moving sites if we stay. Get nearer to the dog area. I hear pavement gets VERY hot on doggie paws in the summer sunshine here. Will have to pay to move the electricity and cable, but would be worth it. We would lose the mountain view out our rear window, but gain the evening sunsets. Should be a nice tradeoff.
Already 60 here, and should be 80.
I already hear the pool calling my name.....................did our running around yesterday, so don't gotta go nowhere. Have a great day all! |

Goodmorning from Mississippi... Another dark and cloudy morning in Ole Miss.. but hopefully it will lighten up in a while... Im going shopping today, im out of groceries..and i want to look for a rug for my family room.. I been doing some painting here and trying to go from off white walls to color..Im having a time choosing colors.. So far, my living room is terra cotta and my new bath is coral.. I have 3 more bedrooms and the hallway to do...anyone know any colors that would look good for these rooms.. I think ill be using gold in the dining area, and a greenish blue in one of the bedrooms, and i do want something burgandy, but im unsure of this color with the others...HELP HELP |

We've had sunshine the last couple of days, which is nice, but the upshot is cold temps overnight - -13c/10f. last night. It's been cheery to look at outside, but we're running the furnace like it was mid-January. Supposed to change this afternoon; cloud and perhaps some precip (I can't bring myself to use that cursed S-word.) |

Chrissy, Charlotte is a nice place. I have clients there, and visiting is tax deductible. Orson didn't learn his lesson. The jumping cholla bit him again. You are accustomed to hearing about Orson when he does something wise or good. "Doc, I f888ed up big time here, would you please help me? These things really hurt." Please pardon me for this, but I drove a long ways for this. The current temp is 81°F. Wherever you are, you should be able to see my grin -- it is that wide. Believe it or not, there is rain in the weather forecast. Rain here can be dangerous, so I will be alert. |

Fun, Pat. I see where couple of folks we worked with at IBM in Boca retired to Deland and spoke of considering Villages but too big for them. However, they also enjoy going for the food, drink and socializing. Good day all, Kate |

Patti, I really like the southwestern colors so that sounds good to me. Yellows, light grey too. Now burgundy too dark for me but Ed likes it so he might do some in upstairs rooms with grey trim. Have fun with it, Kate |

Patti, color is fun. I would do the hall in a lovely pale cream that would go with all the colors in the rooms off of it. I had a friend who did her bathroom in burgundy and pale pink and it was stunning, with cream and burgundy towels, and a cream and pink lace shower curtain. (The floor was a neutral stone tile). It looked great. |

Doc, The City of Charlotte (Uptown) is beautiful, clean and lots of restaurants, etc. I find Charlotte and the surrounding areas to be very busy, too much traffic for me. If I were young, this is a great place. Living in Gainesville has me spoiled, still a small town but always something going on because of the University. Patti, just had the whole inside of our house painted, I stayed neutral but I love the colonial greens and blues. Maybe in my next life I'll get "wild". I did a colonial green (metallic)under the chair railing in the Dining Room it came out nice. If I could afford it I would wallpaper. Love wallpaper. Don't forget to post some pictures in Home and Garden when you done, we would love to see the "new look".

I love to see homes with color, but I'm kind of a chicken. Our one daughter did burgundy in her dining room under the chair rail. Above is a fairly bold paper and the chair rail and molding is a beigey color. Looks great. Her dining room is a good size, lovely hardwoods, and broken up by two arched doorways, a slider to the deck (wood to match the floor) and she has a huge china closet on the facing wall...so the darker color works really well. When we had our interior done last year, I did break out of off white but I picked the muted blues and greens too - also a colonial green in the dining room under the chair rail, but that was as bold as I got. Well, I did go with a darker beige/khaki this year in the new room - white molding and ceiling, three walls of windows and the slider into the house, so that's kind of bold There is a Benjamin Moore site that lets you play with a color wheel and the room will automatically be painted that color (woodwork, ceiling can be altered too) that is pretty cool. Unfortunately the bookmark is on my computer at home. |

Chrissy, first let me say Go Gaters, before I forget. Steve Spurrior made the worst move of his life when he left Gainsville. Charlotte honors California's "helper dog" designations, so Orson and I have spent many a happy evening at the local restaurants. Morton's, Sullivan's, and the Mimosa Grill come to mind. Sullivans gave Orson a dish with water. He appreciated that and "waved" at the waiter every time he went by. I like Gainsville. I took a grad class there and have a friend who teaches at the university. LOL, if you ask which universary, you don't really live in Gainsville. Hee hee. I stop by from time to time. If the door bell rings and the delivery guy brings a very cold box with lobstahs inside, that is your cue to go get some great steaks. Yes, Jackie, I make the call and have them shipped whenever I have an actual address. Don't you? Where are you in Arizona, anyhow, Jackie? I can almost see the river from here. |
