Thanks, Doc. and I like the lightweight frames, too.

I tried progressive lenses when I was still driving truck and found them very disorienting. The first time another truck passed me it looked as if it was coming right over into my lap! I took them off, put on my old, "normal" ones, and I have been happy ever since.

Anyhow, I figured out that it isn't worth getting coverage.

I had the same thought about my dental insurance. $500 a year; I didn't even use it at all last year. And it only pays 50% of fillings, etc., though it does cover all x-rays, checkups and cleanings. I think all that would not come to $500 in one year's time.

JM must be multi-plexing someplace ... well :biting:

Kate

Sorry...I did notice that there were 11 guests and only 2 members when I came in, but I have been involved in exchanging emails with somebody for the past 3 days, and I forgot where Netscape was when I brought up Outlook.

I got the results of the 2-hour glucose tolerance test today, and I have Type II Diabetes. I usually say that things can always be worse, but this is getting ridiculous. The note from the doc didn't list glucose numbers, but he said it's not that far out of the normal range, so treatment shouldn't be too difficult. In the mean time, I suppose I'll have to finish the last 1/2 gallon of Panda Paws before my visit with the doc.

In the mean time, I'm off to catch up on snail mail and Highways . Just as well my plans for the evening fell through...it's 17 degrees, and falling fast.

Yawl have a good night.

Pat, did Don clean up the mess? Bet he won't do that again!

Heather,
Surely you jest! :floorrollin: :floorrollin: Don refers to me as the maintenance crew ;)

We had our neighbors over for happy hour - Don and he had played golf today. Very nice folks from New Hampshire and now in their third year of fulltiming. They have a five year plan and then they will reevaluate what they will do.

John, I don't have a "regular" doctor, since I live on the road. But I insist that I see the actual result forms from any tests they do. I want that xerox copy in my file in the mh, so when I run into a problem several states or provinces over, I can give the attending physician a reasonably complete medical history.

This came in very handy this year, when I was having very very sharp heart pains. It didn't show the other signs of a heart attack. But I broke camp and began to drive up the fire road to the nearest paved road, and then to the nearest hospital. The total distance was 72 miles. When the attending looked at my test results, he said, "You f***ing drove to the emergency room? How did you do that?" It turned out to be only pericarditis (my body was squeezing my heart very hard). But the file with my medical history helped the doctors figure it out. Then I had to deal with their reticence to give me all of the data to put in my file for the next time. Oh, that's different, LOL.

Having type 2 is not as bad as it used to be. There are shot-guns (no, not the ones Dick Cheney uses) that resemble the way they would give shots on the old Star Trek tv show.

I promise I will not send you candy for Christmas.

Good Evening. Mur, sounds like Dad is gonna do just fine, the older generation are tough people. Funny Heather should mention about passing trucks looking like they are driving thru you....at times, I've experienced the same with my Tri-Focals on, never realized it could be the glasses, it's wierd, feels like they're squeezing into my lane as they pass....is this correct Heather ?.

Murray, happy to hear your dad is doing well

Well I have a good laugh for you all.

When I got to work this am my coworker noticed I had a bit of a fray in my jeans on the butt by the pocket. No big deal... :dunno:

Well, as the day progressed it was becoming a big deal. Now you could see my flesh coloured undies. Maybe if they were not tight you would not have noticed it so much  Now I was a bit more careful of where I wandered around. A few times I know I flashed some of my poor unsuspecting coworkers.

Poor guys were probably going :redcard:

Just as my day was ending I moved the wrong way or my pants finally said enough. All of a sudden I had a cool draft  Only one coworker had a good laugh with me as I quickly put my jacket on.

Now you can all have a good snicker too, we did :dunno:

And I'm sure they all will put their glasses on for that, Karen!

Finally - even for me - here is a picture of our little Connor, who is two weeks old today. This is a hospital picture and the first one I have seen. I had a heck of a time getting it on ImageShack and then here. Where is wifi when you need it? He does have the dark baby blue eyes, but they are rarely seen...eats, sleeps, poops. Good baby.

John - I was MIS-diagnosed as Diabetic a couple years ago - took several months and a few "sugar-crashes" for me to figure it out, but the experience was valuable anyway. The Hospitals up here give excellent classes for the new Diabetic (which I took); it's not nearly the difficulty that it used to be.

I'm not sure what Doc was referring to, but in my case they just had me taking a pill a couple times a day - no shots. (and of course, eating a more restricted diet)

But whatever mine was, was NOT Diabetes. I eat chocolate, toffee, cake, ice cream, you name it - no problem. And that was confirmed along with all the tests they did on me a few months back.

Glad to see Conner received the second "n" - it would have been mis-spelled by people for the rest of his life, anyway. Drives me nuts to this day, when people leave the "a" out of my name - who every heard of a "Murry"???

Oh Pat, he's beautiful, another gorgeous grandchild.

Got to Gainesville and had to take Francis to hospital for tests. Dr. thinks it's could be kidney stones, no pain but blood in urine. Ofcourse, being the worrier that I am along with the rest of the family we're upset. Frank and I were looking forward to being here and relaxing after going to Miami this week, I guess it's a good thing we came up.
I've reading reading about kidney stones on the internet, it does appear to be what he has, we'll wait and see.

Sorry, haven't answered too many posts, will tomorrow

Kate... I begin to see the charm of what you are suggesting...not to mention the "too hot to cook" thing!
