I dont think anyone has started the topic today..
I got up early this am, and thought id try to start it..
Nothing very interesting in Mississippi today but it
has warmed up some and im so glad of that..
I want to get outside and start digging so bad, i can
taste it, but its still too wet and a bit cold..
Last week i had tulip and hyacinth bulbs peeping thru the
ground, and i really hope these havent gotten killed, because
we have had some heavy frost and freezing temps..
Sure wish i had some good food to show this am, but I know
id never come up with things as good as John Maier..
Anyway, all of you have a blessed day, and ill talk later...pat

Good morning. Gloomy day, looks like it's trying to rain.

Frank and I are leaving tomorrow to see Francis in N.C.....I'll pack a few things and straighten up the house.
Not much going on, just made a pot of coffee so I can wake up ;) .

Patticake, no reason at all to apologize....First one up can start the good morning thread, just include the date on the title. Oh, and don't forget, first one up makes a pot of coffee. :)

Yawn! Good morning all. It is a beautiful morning here. We're outside watching the sunrise. I did a little experiment with the morning coffee and it turned out well. I threw some Jamaican Blue and French Roast beans in the coffee grinder together and it tastes great. I topped it off with a frozen dollop of whipped cream left over from a pie I made a Christmas time. I found some fresh blueberries at the grocery store a few days ago and some of them went into this morning's muffins. The rest will go in a pie this afternoon.

A lone owl is cruising the area looking for a bed time snack. It is amazing to watch these guys work.

Speaking of work, I suppose I should be getting to it. I have a Monday design milestone deadline and need to start writing it up and get the drawings finished off, so I can get paid. They will never build this beast, at least not to the original specs, so I'll spend 25 pages defining it so the client can make that decision. By next Friday, after a ton of meetings, I expect them to get back to me and ask what I recommend. Then it will all start again.

I hope you all enjoy your morning. There will never be another one quite like it.

"morning folks!

It's time to complain about email *again*! Just when I thought they had it figured out, it stopped coming at 7:55 yesterday morning. Called tech support, and they had me delete my accounts for Outlook. Then they gave me the *wrong* server names to reinstall the acconts. The next tech person got the servers right, but yesterday, people weer getting mail returned to sender as undeliverable.
I fugured that was the same reason why I stopped getting notifications from Soapbox, but that's not the case. My email address had been deleted form "my controls'--go figure.
Now I could start on the roofer!! Lefte a message there....ah, never mind, have a better day!

Patti, looks like you and Chrissy were typing at the same moment; you posted two minutes before she hit the post button! Don't worry, someone will merge them. At least the daily thread(s) started at a decent time this morning!

It's a dark, drizzly cold morning here and will be weeks and weeks before gardening starts. Then, it will start all at once!

I'm all ready to go to the dentist. This is my first visit since I stopped working, and it's just a consultation. I think I am going to request palliative care. If I have everything done they are going to want me to do, it will use up my entire nest egg. :faint: Hospice for teeth, that's what I need.

Thanks Jackie, I've been in a fog lately, but has nothing to do with the weather. :floorrollin:
Now that Frank and I have two laptops I'll be signed on up at Francis's.........Thought it was the girl next door who had the wifi signal, but apparently not. I promise I'll won't steal wifi, just borrow it for a few days.

We had about 2 inches of Schnit last night. That better be the last of it! It's just around freezing and supposed to warm ever so slighty for the weekend, with some periods of sun. Then another system as of Sunday but with luck, only showers.

Don't feel bad, Wolfie, neither did mine. Either of them. :fryingpan:

I am very happy with my dentist visit. Only one cavity, and my gums are in great shape; that is the worst worry at my advanced age.

I am going to drop my dental insurance, since it looks like I will be paying more for the premiums and the deductible, than the work will cost me.

Heather, that's good news. I hate going to the dentist and have for as far back as I can remember. When I was living in Silicon Valley, the dentist would phone in a prescription for drugs that I should take starting the night before. I couldn't drive there with all those drugs, so I either had to take a taxi or have someone take me. I could understand the valium, ativan, and librium, but phenobarbital? Of course there was that time when I walked out of his office during a tooth extraction and called the entire staff a bunch of sadists....

Chrissy, the person from whom you are "borrowing" WiFi needs to know that their network is insecure. They probably don't have a clue. If you want to see just how bad their security is, point your browser at 192.168.1.1. Just enter that where you would normally put in a www.* address. If you connect, don't do anything. Just let me know what happens and I'll figure out a way to inform them.

Karen, sorry to hear about the snow and cold. I've got an extra chair, if you want to use the telescope. It is currently 77°F with a light breeze, although it has been dipping into the 40s at night. I'm not bragging. I just got tired of being the one here with the worst weather for so many weeks. I'm baking and cooking because I just stocked up at a grocery store. The fresh fruit and veggies have to be eaten within a week, as does the fresh fish and meat. It is funny, because when I cook the fresh stuff, I plan a meal for 4. The leftovers keep much better than the raw food. The cycle is fresh food, leftovers, frozen food, canned food. I'm into the canned food by the 5th week in the wild. Then it is time to go grocery shopping again. You might be surprised at how a little creativity can make even the frozen and canned segments palatable. For example, I have a couple of frozen pie crusts and some canned pumpkin and cherry pie filling. A couple of weeks from now, those will taste good to me. I would not put them up against the fresh blueberry pie in process now, however.

back to work for me.... ;)
