You would think the Democrats would be in "hog heaven" going into mid-term elections but the signs of strife are making the party look bad to its own members and the results may be disastrous. The ruckus over the Alito nomination brought shame on the party considering the very gentlemanly way the Republicans handled the Ginsburg nomination and according to the election results gave the Democrats what they wanted. After all that's for the winning party to do, nominate judges. Now it seems sure that the Democratic Party will have a serious clash with its national chairman, Howard Dean. The party is almost broke and the Republicans have millions in the bank. Dean was supposed to be able to raise lots of money from his online supporters and the MoveOn.org crowd but his is instead facing a rebellion from his party by the congressional members because of his mismanagement and big mouth. Dean plans to fight back ferociously however by preparing a Nixonian response by digging up as much dirt as he can on party members. He has already started on Harry Reid, and Harry has much to hide, and others are next. Those who know say that Reid's dealings make Abramoff's lobbying work look amateurish by comparison. Dean has already reported Reid's ties to Abramoff. Reid accepted tens of thousands of dollars from an Abramoff client and that was after interceding for that same client in a Casino dispute with a rival tribe. Reid has received $60,000 in Abramoff-related money and Dean is exposing it all. With problems like the Democrats have maybe they should nominate someone really honest, like Bill Clinton, to face the Republicans next election. That is if they survive that long. |

Yeah right! Cons have no shame! The parties over. Oh well! The Dems may shot themselves in the foot from time to time, but the Cons, well the Cons shot each other. |

History 101: When a popular myth is believed to be factual, teach the myth. Its not possible to underestimate the intelligence of the voting populous. Hummm, after seeing the results of the 06 election, I may have to modify my perception of the voting populous and refer to them as "Late Bloomers".

Recently read that last year the Dems raised more money than the Cons. We can all say what we want but the decision will be made next November. The Cons looked like they would be in the drivers seat for years and years. However they let the power go to their head and now they are sweating bullets. When I read posts like this I hear the cries of a desperate party. Ken |

You're dreaming. The Democratic Party has become the party of the Kennedy's, Schumers, Deans, Reid's, etc. Even Barney Fag is a "so called" respected member after he used his official office to sell homosexual favors. $80 a pop. Your glory days are over-----unless you change! |

And if they changed, it would have to be to shift right--no more room left, leaving the Reps on the left where Bush and the social cons and neo cons have dragged them. That would complete the cycle, putting the parties back where there were before FDR redefined them. |

No bigotry. I just don't like queers. Especially those in public office who use their offices for prostitution as Barney Fag did. One of his famous quotes was: "I wish I was a little younger, I'd do this everyday." He was talking to his "girlfriend" Gobie during homosexual activity. No bigotry here. |

There are a lot of homosexuals out there that are " Shudder " Republicans. Hmmm doesn't seem the Cons are looking out for their issues. Many will switch to the Democratic party. There's a whole bunch of votes that the cons will lose. Throw them the right to a legal partnership with their mates, equal health benefits etc.and they will switch in a heartbeat. Every vote counts. It might even lower the mrdering of the unborn if a loving same sex couple were willing to adopt an unwanted pregnant womans baby.Sure would beat the miserable foster care system we have now. |

You guys should listen to Lieberman. He sounds like he doesn't agree with his own party too much anymore. I heard him on Sean Hanity's radio program the other day, and you could tell he is really at odds with his own party. The funny thing is, if it had been Bush against Lieberman in 2004, I think Lieberman would have won easily. Instead of Lieberman, the dems nominated "electible" Kerry instead. Seems to me, that ideology has become more important than winning elections for the dems. This is why in spite of all the problems the reps have had reciently, I still think they will win the elections this year because they continue to shift to the left to a more moderate ideology. The dems on the other hand, are mounting a bid to replace Lieberman instead of trying to make Hilary more of a moderate in an attempt to retake the white house. Most Americans are moderates. |
