The police have deemed it a closed case. Cheney claims to have had uno beerski at lunch. It's all over folks. After his term in office Dick will most likely return to work for Halliburton as a consultant or write a book about the war years or both. |

What I am trying to find out is "WHY", Cheney did not go to the hospital with the man and friend that he shot, go to the hospital with him. He had two secret service cars at his disposal! The only reason that I can think of is "he was drunk" or had been drinking. If "YOU" had been in the same situation would you have gone to the hospital with him? I sure would have unless that I had something to hide. Lets be reasonable, I think most of us would have gone to the hospital with him. SOME FRIEND CHENEY IS. |

I imagine he didn't want to be attacked by a howling pack of reporters... and he may have felt that his friend didn't need that kind of experience, either. But it's entirely possible the hunters had hoisted a few beers. That is not uncommon. |

Mur, there are people in this country who really think that avoiding military service is a character flaw, and others that don't. But most make those distinctions when the subject belongs to the other political party. In other words, character doesn't count. What is important is what party you belong to. |

My take on this subject is that Bush will never dump Cheney. Bush has an image of being faithful toward his friends and it would hurt him politically if he were to dump an old family friend for no great reason. |

While the story may be news, the polticalicizing of it is stupid. The general public don't give a rip about anything other than the incident and most have already forgotten it already. As to claiming that Cheney or anyone was drunk is pure speculation and fiction. It's laughable as to how creative the mind can be when we are desperately looking for a certain outcome. Get a grip people, this just might be an unfortunate hunting accident that happens throughout the USA during every hunting season. |

And do you think Cheney picked Fox news by chance??? Fox news, the voice of the Conservative spin machine.
Yeah right... and I got a bridge to sell you! My friends drink beer from a glass called a "two bedroom" (24oz. glass) and refer to it as an uno brewski. Ain't everything bigger in Texas? How in the world can the police determine the shooting wasn't alcohol related, he wasn't tested on the spot? One can dump a lot of alcohol out of they're system in 20 hours. |

Hey Jose, The police also said that there was no crime committed in the Kennedy Bridge Incident and I have seen how the right "got a grip." After all it was just an unfortunate accident and we lose about 50,000 a year in car wrecks so what was the big deal?? Ken "It's only bad if a Democrat does it" |

C'mon guys. It was a hunting accident. Cheney screwed up. The guy he shot apparently harbors no ill will. And it's not like he shot a human being. The victim is a rich Republican lawyer, remember? I never would've thought Cheney was a Shakespeare fan.

If I were the guy that got shot and in the hospital intensive care unit, the first question that I would ask, HAS THE GUY WHO SHOT ME BEEN HERE TO SEE ME? Not yet, he had to sober up first. |
