So why did Cheney wait 24 hours to issue a press release... was he DRUNK!! Now I wonder if the right will have as much fun with this as they did with Kennedy?? So if Kennedy is "SPLASH" then Cheney is now "BLASTER."

Cal,

You may be surprised to find out that Quail hunting is not only for the rich on 50,000 acre private ranches. I was taught that there is no such thing as a firearm hunting "accident." The last time someone in the white house shot anyone
was in 1804 at the Hamilton vs. Burr duel.

There are hunting accidents. Just as there are auto, plane, bike, ladder, and other accidents.

BTW--Burr was the VP, not the prez.

I guess the Bush/Cheney haters are going to have fun at Cheney's expense.

Hummm, after seeing the results of the 06 election, I may have to modify my perception of the voting populous and refer to them as "Late Bloomers".

I didn't get to see or hear the morning Press Brief, but just heard some of the questions posed. My favorite (paraphrase): “If the guy had died would it have been more serious?” :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Ya gotta love our press. :faint:

Another question at the press conference, (paraphrased)"Is the vice-president going to resign?"

Do these folks get paid for such stupidity? Unfortunately, yes.

And the answer was?

This thread started off funny, then it slipped on a banana peel.

Chris,

You may be right. I have been reading, not necessarily here, so many folks that are in a hurry to place blame, on the victim. The blame clearly lies with the shooter in most, or all, hunting accidents. That doesn't mean that Cheney should resign or be charged with a criminal offense. From what I have read, Cheney has accepted personal blame for the accident.

The jokes will continue much as they have continued, for how many years?, about Kennedy's accident. That is just a fact of life. Hopefully the "libs" won't be quite as vicious about Cheney as the "cons" have been about Kennedy.

The coverage of this story is a perfect example of how 24/7 cable must expand any story they can to fill empty time.

I think we were much better off when our news came in something we had to read.

Overkill seems to be the operative word....no pun intended. ;)

Hello! Is anybody in there? You cannot hunt in Texas unless alcohol is involved. :slap:

C'mon Ditchbug,

Comparing an accident when hunting that resulted in minor injury with a automobile driving off a bridge, then the driver hiding, is really apples and oranges.

A lot of nonsense has been posted about this incident; I especially like some of the comments about guns. Never saw a greater example of folks making a statement about something they know nothing about. I even heard this AM a guy make a statement that there was no such thing as a 28 gauge; his assertions were taken as fact until rebuked. But, this "expert" will probably be quoted.
