There's a rule I made against thread revival if I'm not mistaken *cough* so I'll just start over.

Random screenshot time!:

(PhotoBucket wouldn't let me upload it, so I had to use ImageShack. Blech. Anyway, it's clearer if you click on it.
I'll probably take another screenie once it hits all 7's. XD

And an actual drawing:
I'm scanner-less at the moment, so I had to use my camera.

Random, fox-like Poké colored Ken Sugimori style. X3
There's a PokéDex entry to the side, but it's kind of hard to read: "It's eyes are highly reflective and can see in almost any lighting condition."

Wow, J-C, that is really well done. In fact that's awesome! I love the movement of the tail and his paw. It's look realistic.

I don't quite recall many moments where bushy tails reacted to the ground in Pokémon. :-P Ignoring that, a couple of the bends could be better than just changing degrees and going straight—you might want to work on making sure every line that's suposed to curve does. The snout might look a little better if it weren't so thick and you could've dealt without the miniscule line to indicate that it has a mouth (as in making it larger or changing the shape of that snout/box altogether). Maybe a little work on the snout appearing 3-D could've helped, because when I look at it closely, the neck seems like it's rotated a full 180 and the head's plastered on.

So there's my griping (Hey, I won't always know what words I'm using. XD) out in the open.

That's strange Ramzam... I remember a time, back in my childhood, when cartoons didn't have to look realistic. XD Just be happy there actually is a mouth--it used to be that I didn't draw them at all. This drawing was practically a revision of a revision of the original drawing I made in seventh grade....

This is the original version of Meira. She looks quite different now, but I don't have any examples on my computer of her current version.

Yes, yes, the anatomy is way off, her torso looks odd, her shoes are lumpy, I still can't wrinkle fabric to save my life, etc. This was actually a bit of a goof-up on my part, I realize that (before you say anything, Ram XD). I've improved some since this summer. :sweat:

Yes! Scanner access! X3 Now I can present my (belated) birthday present to CAW! (For the record, I drew it on the 13th, I just didn't get a chance to scan and/or post it until a few days later.)

And now, a comic. I apologize for the fact that it's on lined paper:
Page One
Page Two

There's a long story behind the origin of the characters that I've explained to a few people, however, I'm currently too lazy to type it all out. I'll just explain why everyone is what they are:
nya: Plutonian Cat Alien. Just look at the smilies....
Ram: Until quite recently, he was a dragon, but now he's a fox-thing. I found out too late, and I don't feel like changing it.
Wyatt: A werewolf. However, he looks more like a normal wolf. Oops.
Anthezar: A bird because... she owns a few. >.>; My characters are animals, not elves....
Eni: He's a vampire, so a vampire bat seemed logical. What a waste of raspberry filling....
bluecybunny13 and Ruffie: As they have to do with the origin of this style of characters, it just seemed logical to put them in the comic, even if they aren't on the forum often anymore. >.>;
My apologies to Kendra and doctor who. I couldn't think of how to put you two into it. -_-;

Actually, you're not. Kirby has hands. XD Long story short, they started out as doodles I did in math in seventh grade. I made a different character for each of my friends. Before too long, I had started to draw comics about these characters, and have been to this day. They're usually based on favorite animals, but I had to get creative when I was making characters for the people on this forum....

My scanner doesn't do the pastel justice, I'm afraid... but I still love how the background came out. |3

Hahaha. That's really good, nya. Execept, why are we all disembodied (Sp?) heads? Oh, and, also, the picture for Simon looks really good also. :3 Keep it up, J-C!

Like I said, they originals started as random doodles. I wanted some little thing that I could draw wherever I wanted and quickly, so my character( <^_^> ) was born. Before too long, I'd drawn several to represent the rest of my friends. Yes, they are slightly representative, though you'd need to know my friends as well as see the rest of my comics to get that. :sweat: Long story short, the reason they don't have bodies was because of a tragic incident of boredom in math class. Ah well. It worked out for the best. XD

As prophesied, I shall comment on the orca pic. I have but two sentences to say:
Nice pastel work.
And:
Hope none of that stuck to the screen of your scanner. XP

What, no "thank you"? XP And I sprayed it with hairspray before I scanned it. XD

Hair spray...? Never mind. And no. I'm not usually one to say, "thank you," in those exact words.

Ah. You're welcome anyway. XD And because hairspray is essentially sprayable plastic, you can use it on drawings to stop them from smudging. It works for the most part, except for on oil pastels. Nothing can protect those, short of framing. XP

What pastels did you use anyway? I tried some pencil pastels, but deemed them as, "useless. Crappy. Waste of time and money that could have been better spent on and with better artistic utensils." Why? Because using sandpaper to sharpen them is just tedious and the tip wears down in about a few minutes. -_-

Chalk pencils made by General's Art Company. I do own hard pastels, but I didn't have them handy, and I don't like using them when I'm drawing stuff in more detail anyway. XP They came with their own sharpener that actually works. *anime "victory" pose* (sharpeners, technically--they came in a set that was pretty much two together, but it came with 24 pencils instead of 12 and was cheaper, too). They're currently my favorite medium if I feel too lazy to use my colored pencils.

That brings me back to the time when I had to buy Crayola Markers for my school and I discovered that the pack of 24 markers costed less than the one with 12. XD Oops, that was sorta of topic.. :>.<:

Actually, I had my phrasing sort of off. It was cheaper to buy the set of 24 instead of two sets of 12. There.

Well, I've got this in my signature, but I'll post it anyway, for lack of anything else...:

I've got anatomical issues and such-like, but it started as a rough sketch I did at school that ended up moving to my sketchbook. I felt like coloring it, but didn't want to color it on lined paper. >.>;;

lolz i r bad admin. Double posting AND thread revival? For shame.

But anyway, I'll post some stuff because I feel like it.

Hooray for revamps. XP Yeah... Green sprites are pretty terrible. You should see what they did to Dragonite and Mew. *shudder*
Here's a less horrendous revamp: Posted Image

And now for something completely different:[/montypythonreference]

A terrible color version of Meira. =D Okay, it was the first thing I did in Photoshop. I hadn't quite mastered lines, so... I completely ignored them. Yay me. Least I know how to do lineart now. XP
