TADAA!!! Here it is...though I'm not finished with chapter ten, I'm getting there--look, if you can't wait, then too bad! ------------------------------------------------------ Prologue “What do you want from me?” Riveing asked, angrily, glaring at Geenara, who’d escaped from prison a few years earlier. “I believe you’ve heard of a certain Alos Iriguar.” Geenara said with his usual, smug smile. “I want you to kill him. Then your family, your friends…I’ll give you everything I took from you, along with a clean slate and new identity. I see you finally got rid of that blue hair dye.” “I don’t care about what happens to me, I just want what’s mine!” Riveing snapped, taking step forward and causing the silver bracelet he was wearing, to zap him. “You don’t understand…you’re in NO place to make a bargain. You have no choice. Think about it; if I hadn’t taken you in, you’d be in jail for life, by now. You can’t run from the police forever.” Geenara said, walking up to Riveing. Geenara was a little more than a foot shorter than Riveing. “Fine…I’ll do it.” Riveing said, turning around and storming off. “I knew you would…” Geenara said, with a grin as he pressed a button and Riveing’s bracelet fell off. “You won’t live to come back, though.” He whispered to himself. (At the capital city of Grandarth…) “Security alert! This is not a drill! We have a class ten intruder, approaching the royal chambers! Heavily armed! This is not a drill!” An intercom blared, as several alarms went off, within the castle. Riveing hardly paid attention to the alarms, dashing down the hall, leading to the back of the castle, tackling anyone unfortunate enough to be in his way. The only thing that made him stop, was the sight of Firingo, in an open room. “Get outta the way!” Riveing shouted over the alarms. “I don’t want to hurt you!” “Then why do you want to hurt the prince?” Firingo asked, reaching for a pokeball, on his belt. “If I knew you were going to be like this, when you grew up, I would’ve done something a long time ago!” “Well, sorry I wasn’t the friend you expected me to be!” Riveing reached into his pocket and took out a black and white pokeball, with a blue “S” on it. “If you don’t move, I’ll force my way through! Go! Feraligatr!” Riveing shouted as he threw the pokeball. “Rock their world, Meganium!” Firingo shouted as he threw his pokeball. “Yeah, I train more than just fire pokemon!” He added, pointing at Riveing. “Slash!” Riveing shouted, with an outstretched finger and Feraligatr leapt forward, holding an arm back. “Oh please. Use vine whip!” Firingo shouted and Meganium grabbed Feraligatr, with two long, thick vines. “Just as I expected.” Riveing said to himself, silently. “Now, Feraligatr! Use hydro pump!” He shouted and Feraligatr blasted Meganium, with a continuous column of water, stunning it. “Use guided leaf!” Firingo shouted, desperately and meganium launched several razor leaves, that arced around the hydro pump attack. “Feraligatr, pull Meganium in and use it as a shield!” Riveing shouted, then Feraligatr stopped blasting Meganium and pulled on the vines, taking Meganium with them. The leaves hit Meganium instead, as Feraligatr swung it in circles. “Now, Meganium! Try solar beam!” Firingo screamed. Meganium charged up, with a bright light and blasted Feraligatr, causing them both to be knocked out. Meganium ended up slamming into the wall and Feraligatr, wound up creating a small crater, as it slammed into the ground. They both recalled their pokemon and sent out another. On Firingo’s side, Typhlosion. On Riveing’s, Dragonite. “Typhlosion, I want you to use the strongest explosion attack you’ve ever used.” Firingo said, as the alarms died down. Riveing’s eyes widened. “You’re crazy!” Riveing shouted. “You’ll kill us both!” “Then so be it…” Firingo said, quietly and Riveing began running forward, as Typhlosion rubbed it’s fur together, causing a massive explosion, that left everything in dust. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled, Riveing found himself, slammed into a wall, covered in a burns and several large bruises. Firingo wasn’t as lucky, though. He was completely buried in rubble, with nothing but his twitching hand sticking out. He watched a few seconds and it dropped limp. Riveing had just watched his best friend die. “You gave your life to protect someone else.” Riveing said to himself, quietly. “I would’ve done the same, if I were in the same situation.” He added, climbing over the debris and continuing, through the door at the end of the hall. “You’re under arrest!” A voice shouted and Riveing‘s attention switched to what was in front of him. There were twenty police officers, at the least and a clone of almost every legendary pokemon…functioning ones, too… |

Rapid-fire posting mode, active! ------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 Riveing watched, as the SWAT member in front of him, paced back and forth. “You’ve got two choices.” They said. “Take the death penalty, or track down Geenara, then kill him.” “I don’t need to find him, I just have to get to him.” Riveing said, sitting on the bench, in handcuffs. “It’s more complicated than you think. You need keys to get into his hideout. Eight doors, eight keys. And there’s no way around any of them.” He said leaning back. “I know where the keys are, so I’ll rather kill Geenara. I have my own grudge against him, as well.” He added. “Good. You know where they are, so put these on and hop to it.” The SWAT member said to him, then threw him some black and white clothes. “I still have handcuffs, so I can’t put them on, Sherlock.” Riveing said, raising an eyebrow. “Get outta here.” The SWAT member said and Riveing got up, then walked out of the room, mumbling under his breath. (Three hours later, in Riveing’s room) “What makes me so special? Who are you, for that matter?” Riveing asked the mysterious voice, that was talking to him. “You don’t recognize the sound of my voice? You killed me…on a cold and lonely night.” The voice said. “Now I do. That was because you originally tried to kill me. Now I get it. Another one of those remnant psyches…you came to haunt me too? Sorry, but I don’t scare easily.” Riveing said, sitting down, in his bed. “I’d rather forget about the past. What makes you so special, happened just recently. You’ll find out soon enough.” The voice disappeared, with an evil laugh. “Right then.” Riveing said to himself, looking around. “Now, maybe I can sleep.” (The next day) “All right. Key number one is in Vicebridge.” Riveing said to himself, as he put on the black shirt and white jeans. “Sure hope everything with the police, is clear. If not, I’m going to be in more fights than I can keep count.” He added, putting on his shoes and grabbing his belt, then walking out the door. After he left the apartment building, he took the road, leading out of town, with a feeling that someone was following him. A few seconds later, boy, in all blue clothes jumped out of the bushes, holding out a pokeball and three others on his belt. “Hey! Check this out! I got my fourth badge and guess what else! I’m unbeatable and I challenge you to a battle!” The boy laughed, when Riveing said no. “You’re just scared I’ll beat you! Chicken!” “Shut up.” Riveing said, glaring at the boy. “You’d best be careful who you challenge. Because you’ll never know what you might be up against. Go ahead and give me your best shot.” Riveing said, reaching for a pokeball, on his belt. “You asked for it, Grandpa!” The boy shouted, throwing the pokeball. “Show ‘em whacha got zigzagoon!” The boy yelled as a zigzagoon came out of the pokeball. “Normally, I’d cut someone like you a break, by using a weak pokemon, but frankly, I don’t have one.” Riveing said. “Let’s get this over with, Charizard!” Riveing shouted, throwing Charizard’s pokeball. The sight of Charizard made Zigzagoon step back a bit and start shaking in fear. “Come on, Zigzagoon! We can take him!” The boy shouted and Zigzagoon straightened up. “You first.” Riveing said and the boy smiled. “You’re gonna get it now! Zigzagoon, use scratch!” The boy shouted and Zigzagoon ran up to Charizard and scratched it’s leg. Charizard looked down at Zigzagoon. “What just happened?” The boy asked, shocked, by how little an effect Zigzagoon’s attack had. “Go ahead, use your strongest attack.” Riveing said, smiling. The boy was already getting frustrated. “Try quick attack!” He shouted and Zigzagoon left a white streak behind it, as it tackled Charizard, smashing into it’s chest, with not much more than a scratch. The boy stared, completely silent. “All right, Charizard, use flamethrower…just a little one.” Riveing said and Charizard shot Zigzagoon with a small stick of fire. Zigzagoon ran around for a few seconds, then collapsed and fainted. “How in the world did you get four badges, with such weak pokemon?” Riveing asked. “They aren’t weak…yours are just impossibly strong.” The boy said, discouraged, as he reached for his second pokeball. “Come on, Crocanaw.” The boy said, tossing the pokeball. “Stop.” Riveing said, recalling Charizard. “Don’t bother fighting me. Your pokemon are too weak. Track me down, once you’ve got at least eight badges. Either way, you’re only a fourth through your journey in this region.” Riveing said and walked down the road, leaving the boy behind. The boy quickly recalled his crocanaw and ran after Riveing. “Wait! Can you help me train?” The boy shouted, as he ran up to him. Riveing turned around. “I’m going places that are too dangerous for a kid.” Riveing said, turning away. “You’ll drag me down, anyway. I don’t need a sidekick.” He added, as he began walking down the path, again. “Just you wait! I can help, if you give me chance!” The boy said. Riveing and the boy walked for almost an hour, Riveing hardly paying attention to the boy. “Your name?” He finally asked. “Kiero. Kiero Altezah.” The boy said and the name hit Riveing, like a bullet. Kiero was his son. “What happened to your parents?” Riveing asked, still walking. “Well, Dad just disappeared, and Mom got kidnapped, along with my older brother. The only thing I remember of my dad is playing with his pokemon, whenever he was home and that he’d always go out, in the middle of the night.” Kiero said, looking down. “Do you remember what pokemon they were?” Riveing asked, stopping, by a river and taking the four pokeballs, off his belt. “Well, he had a dragonite, a feraligatr, a charizard like yours, and a sceptile.” Kiero said, sitting down, a few feet away from him. Riveing threw the four pokeball and out came Dragonite, Feraligatr, Charizard, and Sceptile. “Like them?” Riveing asked, smiling. “Ring any bells?” He asked, sitting down. Kiero instantly leapt to his feet. “Dad!? What happened to your blue hair?” He asked, running over and hugging him. Riveing made Kiero sit down. “I was waiting, for you to realize.” Riveing said, messing up Kiero’s hair. “You were never really quick to figure things out. You always took forever to finish a puzzle.” Riveing said, turning back to the water. “You were saying you want to be the best, when you first left. I can make you the best, but first, you have to do other things. You can’t just know your pokemon. You have to be friends with them. What got you interested in pokemon native to Johto, in the first place?” Riveing asked. “Because, That’s where I first had contact with pokemon. I never saw yours, until I was five.” Kiero said, looking at Riveing. “When I saw yours and how well you worked together. I said to myself ‘I want be just like Dad! I’ll be one of the best someday!’ I never quite got there, though.” “Me and my four pokemon have been together for almost sixteen years, so you can expect them to be impossibly strong. It’ll take years to be the best.” Riveing said, standing up. “Go have fun. I’ll start up some dinner, since it won’t be ready for awhile.” |

Chapter 2 (In Riveing and Kiero’s tent, that night) Riveing awoke, to hear voices outside the tent. He began listening to the conversation. “I don’t quite remember our master’s son.” One of the voices said, quietly. “You don’t? We were all together almost every day we were home, and besides, the term ‘master’ makes me feel like some sort of slave.” Another voice whispered. “I remember the kid, vaguely…he was a lot smaller back then, though.” Another voice said. “I wonder if Riveing could defend himself if we attacked him…” One of the voices said. (alright, now either way, it’ll be sort of confusing, so I won’t say which voice says what, since they aren’t labeled anyway.) “I doubt it. He is after all, only human. Even if he is strong, it wouldn’t help very much.” “I can’t believe you’d even think of such a things, are you proposing we attack the poor boy, just to see if he can defend himself?” “Let’s face the facts, we aren’t always going to be around, for him.” “I’ve watched him carefully, over the years. He usually leaves his tent, early in the morning and goes someplace quiet, then starts playing around with this wooden ball. He kicks it, so it stays in the air.” “He kicks that thing? I didn’t think he could manage that.” “So? That doesn’t mean he can really fight.” Riveing got out of his sleeping bag and stretched, accidentally giving himself a charley horse. He sat there for a minute, until the pain stopped, then got out of the tent, expecting to see someone. Nobody was there, except Dragonite, Charizard, Sceptile, and Feraligatr, gathered around a fire. At first, he stood there, processing the fact, that he could tell what his pokemon were saying, then straightened out. “You mind passing me that wooden sphere?” He asked, looking at them. Dragonite threw the sphere, without a word and he caught it, letting it spin him around, then walked off, into the darkness. (Off in the nearby forest) Dragonite watched as Riveing spun his leg around the sphere, then kicked it into the air and kept it in the air, for several minutes. “I used to play soccer, whenever I could.” Riveing said. “So I practiced every day. Nowadays, I just use it for self defense. Also, I heard everything, from inside the tent. Charizard thinks I can’t defend myself huh? Go ahead…give me your best shot.” Riveing said, looking Dragonite’s direction. Dragonite didn’t get what Riveing meant, at first, but then realized he wanted it to attack him. Dragonite, out of fear of hurting him, started with a weak dragon breath attack. Riveing moved out of the way and watched it pass. “That’s it?” He asked, looking back at Dragonite. “I said your best shot.” He added and Dragonite attacked him with a full on dragon breath. It came at him faster than he expected, but he managed to dodge. He kicked the ball into the air and handless cart wheeled over it, still kicking the ball around, in the air. The dragon breath attacks escalated into hyper beams. Riveing spun around one, then jumped above the other. Out of nowhere, a split flamethrower rushed at him. He jumped, to fit in between the spaces and the columns of fire passed by him, but the top one burnt his foot. Riveing caught the wooden ball and looked in the direction that the flamethrower came from, then walked back to his tent. (Back at Riveing’s tent) “What happened?” Kiero asked Riveing as he took off his shoe, along with his sock and wrapped bandages around the burned parts, then put the sock and shoe back on again. “It’s nothing to worry about.” Riveing said, standing up. He walked out of the tent and set up some pots and pans, then walked back into the forest. “Hey, Riveing, are you all right?” Dragonite asked as Riveing passed it, at the edge of the forest. “Yeah, I’m just fine, thank you very much.” Riveing said, picking herbs, from the ground. “It’s not like I’m in a real hurry.” He added, dropping the herbs and returning to the tent. “I’ll be back in a few hours.” Riveing said, taking his pokeballs and recalling his pokemon, then walking off, into the forest again. (Half an hour later, within the confines of the Vicebridge base) “Care to explain why you’re here?” The Magnum grunt asked Riveing. After Geenara had been sent to jail, Team Shuttle fell apart. Afterwards, Geenara made Team Magnum, to avoid being found out, right away. “I don’t have to explain anything, Grunt. Step aside or else.” Riveing said, reaching for a pokeball. “You talk like you’re my boss! Well get a load of this!” Grunt exclaimed, reaching into his pocket and whipping out a folding wallet, containing the sixteen badges of the region. “I’d run, if I were you.” He added, smiling. “That doesn’t impress me.” Riveing said, pulling out his own. It contained all the badges from Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, including the elite four medals. “Now, step aside, if you know what’s good for you.” Riveing said, holding Sceptile’s pokeball. “No way! Those are probably fakes! You won’t believe how many people I’ve seen, with fraud badges!” Grunt shouted, throwing a pokeball. “Get ‘em, Vaporeon!” Grunt shouted, as a vaporeon emerged from the pokeball. “Do it, Sceptile!” Riveing shouted as he threw his pokeball. When Sceptile came out, Riveing attacked right away. “All right, use razor leaf!” Riveing shouted and Sceptile hit Vaporeon with several knife-like leaves. Instant K.O. “Now, slam Vaporeon into it’s trainer!” Riveing added and Sceptile grabbed Vaporeon, with two vines, then threw it right into the Magnum Grunt, knocking him out as well. Riveing recalled Sceptile, then continued, through a door. On the other side of the room, was the key, guarded by someone Riveing didn’t expect. “Jason?” Riveing exclaimed, stopping halfway across the room. “Riveing? What are you doing here?” Jason asked. “I could ask the same question, What are you doing with Team Magnum?” Riveing asked, standing straight. “Guarding one of the keys to Geenara’s hideout, what else?” Jason snapped. “If you think you can get through me, you’ve got a whole other thing coming, Buddy!” He added grabbing one of his pokeballs. As Jason threw the pokeball, time appeared to freeze, with Riveing, the only person unaffected. “It’s time, you found out about your true self.” A deep booming voice said to him and a bright flash blinded him. When it faded, he found himself in complete darkness and a light, to his right. “Within that light lies the pokemon you need, to defeat Geenara. But, you cannot obtain them, until you have all of the keys, for then you will become a true master. Your current pokemon are nothing compared to those of Geenara.” The voice said. “Who are you?” Riveing asked, looking around. “And where the hell am I?” He added, waiting for an answer. “You are in the gateway between two different worlds. As for my identity…you must wait to find out.” With that, the voice echoed out and Riveing found himself where he once stood. A few seconds later, time began to move again. Riveing reached for Charizard’s pokeball, as Jason threw his. “Go! Machamp!” Jason shouted. “I’m not going to hold back, Riveing!” Jason said, glaring at him. Riveing glared back. “I don’t expect you to! Go, Charizard!” Riveing yelled, throwing Charizard’s pokeball. Jason and Riveing stared each other down, waiting for the other to attack. |

Chapter 3 Kiero and Crocanaw watched as Riveing and Jason glared at each other. He’d heard, from his mother, that Riveing and Jason were friends, for nearly sixteen years. “You can do it, Dad.” Kiero whispered under his breath. A few minutes passed and Jason lost his patience first. “Machamp, use cross chop!” Jason called out and Machamp ran forward, straight at Charizard, with it’s arms out. “Dodge it, Charizard!” Riveing shouted and Charizard jumped away, just in time, to avoid Machamp’s attack. “Great! Now use flamethrower!” Riveing called out and instead of the usual flamethrower, a shower of tiny crystals shot from Charizard’s mouth and smashed into Machamp. The attack was more effective than flamethrower, though. “Let’s just call that one, crystal shot.” Riveing said, slightly distracted. So was Charizard and Jason realized that. “While they’re distracted, Machamp! Use vital throw!” Jason shouted and Machamp, snapped out of it’s daze and threw Charizard, clear across the room, smashing it into a wall. “Can you still fight?” Riveing asked Charizard, who nodded, rather than saying anything. “It’s our turn, now! Charizard, use fireball!” Riveing shouted and Charizard’s right hand began to glow. Seconds later, a ball of bright light appeared in it and caught fire. Machamp and Jason were too busy wondering what the attack would do, to try and stop it. Ten seconds passed, then Jason figured it out, but was too late. Charizard threw the bright ball of fire and it smashed into Machamp’s face, knocking it over. Machamp slowly got up, after several seconds. “Machamp, try and use cross chop one more time!” Jason yelled and Machamp ran forward, faster than ever. “Charizard, try and punch it, with fireball!” Riveing shouted and Charizard went through the same sequence, but instead, waited until Machamp was close enough and punched it, with the fireball. Machamp happened to be using cross chop as Charizard punched it. Machamp didn’t hit it’s target though, instead it hit the fireball, causing it to explode, knocking them both out. “That didn’t turn out as planned, but you still did great, Charizard.” Riveing said, recalling Charizard, into it’s pokeball. Jason already had his next pokemon out, a steelix. Riveing put Charizard’s pokeball and threw the next. “Let’s do it, Feraligatr.” Riveing shouted, throwing the pokeball. “What? Wouldn’t Dad use Charizard, if he could? Steelix is a steel type, I don’t see the advantage he has.” Riveing said to himself. “Think.” Crocanaw suddenly said to him. Kiero stared at it. “Use your head. Steelix is the evolved form of Onix, so Steelix is half rock. Big bro’s gonna wipe the floor with Steelix, just watch.” Kiero couldn’t tell whether his mind was talking to him, through a hallucination of his crocanaw, or if Crocanaw was actually talking. “Let’s get this over with, use hydro pump!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr shot a column of water, that hit Steelix in the face, stunning it. “One more time, Feraligatr.” Riveing said and Feraligatr did it again, causing Steelix to faint. “Ugh! I’ve had enough of that stupid smile of yours, when you’re winning!” Jason yelled, recalling Steelix. “Go! Ampharos!” He shouted, throwing a pokeball, that released as mentioned above. “Now, use thunder punch!” Jason shouted and Ampharos punched Feraligatr, with a fist full of lightning, knocking it out instantly. Riveing recalled Feraligatr, saying something, in a low voice, that only he could hear, then threw another pokeball. “Show ‘em who’s boss, Sceptile!” Riveing shouted as Sceptile was released, from the pokeball. “Use razor leaf!” Riveing shouted and Sceptile threw several knife-like leaves, knocking Ampharos around, a bit. “Come one, Ampharos, get it together!” Jason said and Ampharos managed to get rid of the tormenting leaves. “Okay, use thunder shock!” Jason shouted and Ampharos zapped Sceptile, doing little damage. “What the--” Riveing interrupted Jason’s sentence. “Grass types have an advantage over electric types. Not all advantages and disadvantages are obvious.” Riveing said, with a smile. “Now, use bullet seed, Sceptile!” Riveing shouted, pointing at Ampharos. Sceptile shot a storm of golden, glowing seeds, that pelted Ampharos continuously. A short time later, Ampharos fainted and Sceptile stopped spitting seeds. Jason recalled Ampharos and looked at the one pokeball he had left, then smiled. “I never thought I’d wind up using this one! Go, Rayquaza!” Jason shouted, throwing his last pokeball. Riveing froze in the position he was, about to throw Dragonite’s pokeball. “I’m going to run you into the ground!” Jason shouted, half laughing. Kiero’s heart felt as if it stopped, when he saw Rayquaza. “How in the world, did he catch Rayquaza? There’s only one in the world and it’s supposed to be unbeatable…unless.” Riveing said to himself and looked at the pokeball Jason was holding. It was a master ball. “Now wonder!” He said, glaring at Jason. “Don’t get too cocky.” Riveing said, throwing Dragonite’s pokeball. “Just because you have a legendary pokemon, doesn’t mean you’re invincible!” He shouted, pointing at Jason. “We’ll see about that.” Jason said. “Hyper beam!” He shouted and Rayquaza shot the biggest hyper beam Riveing had ever seen. It was roughly four times the size of Dragonite’s own. “Dodge it!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite got out of the way, just in time. The attack hit the ground, just missing Riveing’s feet. He took several steps back, in hopes of avoiding being hit, by a stray attack. “Quick! While it’s recharging, use dragon rage!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite began to glow with a red aura, as it appeared to become enraged. Seconds later, it released a red beam, that doubled itself and hit Rayquaza head on, not seeming to do much damage. Riveing and Dragonite were in for a tough battle. “We’ve still got some time! Use spirit charge!” Riveing shout and Dragonite radiated a light blue aura, that didn’t do much. “Come on! Use hyper beam again!” Jason shouted and Rayquaza attack with the same hyper beam. “Dodge it, like before!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite flew out of the way. “Now use spirit charge again!” Riveing added. The same process repeated itself for ten hyper beam attacks. “What do you think that lame spirit charge attack is going to do?” Jason yelled at Riveing, with Dragonite, who was breathing heavily, standing beside him. “All it’s doing is tiring Dragonite out!” Dragonite’s blue aura flared up, into a bright white one, that blinded Jason and Riveing, for several seconds. As soon as Riveing’s eyes adjusted, he took a few steps back and pointed at Rayquaza. “Spirit charge magnifies Dragonite’s strength times three, every time it’s used…meaning Dragonite’s strength is five hundred thirty one thousand and four hundred forty one times the strength it had when this fight first started! That’s way more than enough to deal with Rayquaza!” Riveing, who was now fifty feet away from Dragonite, exclaimed. “What?” Jason asked, shocked by what Riveing said. “That’s just a lie! Nothing can be that powerful!” “Whoever said Dragonite could be that powerful and withstand it?” Riveing asked. “Dragonite’s bound to faint after this attack, but I share a special bond with my pokemon. One you’ll never have. I know this is what Dragonite wants me to do, so I will…Dragonite, use white flame!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite opened it’s mouth, then two seconds later, out came the attack. It was a pillar of pure white fire, that spread out, over one hundred feet, from on side, to the other. The fire bleached out the entire room and nobody could see anything. A little after ten seconds later, the fire stopped and the room returned to normal. Riveing found Dragonite, on the ground, next to him, conscious, but hardly. “Did we win?” Dragonite asked him and Riveing looked over to where Rayquaza was. It was lying on the ground, out cold. “Yeah.” Riveing said quietly, as Dragonite fainted and Riveing recalled it. “I wonder what would have happened, if I didn’t have the ability to know what pokemon are saying.” Riveing said to himself, as he walked over to where Jason was. He was out cold, as well, with a blue disc sticking out, from under his vest. Riveing bent down and took the disc. “That’s key number one.” “That was amazing!” Kiero screamed, running out of the hallway, he’d watched the entire fight from, with Crocanaw right behind him. |

Chapter 4 (On the road to Jiranur) Riveing and Co. were resting, by the road, with Riveing tending to Dragonite and Kiero relentlessly congratulating them. “I still can’t believe you beat Rayquaza! I mean that white flame attack was so cool! Could you teach that to my Dratini? Can you teach those super cool moves to my pokemon? Can you--” Riveing reached over and held Kiero’s mouth shut. “You’re being annoying.” Riveing said, plainly, as he put a damp towel on Dragonite’s forehead. “Either way, I doubt your pokemon would be able to use the attacks correctly. They took months to teach to my own, it might take years, for yours.” He added, checking it’s pulse. “Is he all right?” Kiero suddenly asked, looking at Dragonite. He poked it and instantly pulled his hand away, when he did, screaming in pain. “It’s a she and I was about to say not to touch her. She’s overly hot, from the white flame attack. You’ll cook your finger, if you touch her again.” Riveing said, putting the towel away and holding his wrist. “Wait a second…how come you can touch him--I mean her, with your own hand?” Kiero asked, looking at Riveing. “Whoever said it was mine?” Riveing asked, in the tone he’d use, whenever he was about to do something, he thought was funny. He then twisted his hand in a full circle. Kiero let out a high-pitched scream as he watched Riveing screw his right hand off. “Relax, it’s a fake, see?” Riveing said, holding the bottom, out to Kiero. It was metal, with a few nubs on it. “This one’s not as flexible as the other one I use, but it’s a lot more durable.” He said, putting the hand in a box and taking out another, then screwing that one on. Riveing and Kiero turned their attention to the road, to noticed a woman, staring at them. “Did you just screw your hand on?” The woman asked, half horrified. She took a close look at Riveing’s face, then put her hand over her mouth. “You’re that wanted man on the posters!” She exclaimed, behind her hand. Riveing remembered seeing the gesture elsewhere. “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” Riveing asked, standing up. “Your name wouldn’t happen to be Likeria, would it?” He asked, walking over. “Stay away from me! I’m warning you!” The woman said, grabbing a pokeball, from her belt. “If it is, I’ve got something for you.” Riveing said, digging through his back pack. Just as he pulled a poncho, with a rose pattern, out of the backpack, the woman slapped him. “Well, I kept your poncho, Likeria. Knowing you, you probably would have run away, if you didn’t remember me. Riveing said, dropping the poncho. “Well, It’s good to see you too, you little--Grr! I can’t describe how annoying you were, back then!” Likeria yelled at him. “Someone…is having mood swings.” Riveing said, stepping back. “And what do you mean by annoying? If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be around, right now.” He added, turning his attention back to Dragonite, who’d just regained consciousness. Riveing hardly paid any attention to Likeria, who was busy blowing her top. “Rise ‘n shine, Sleeping beauty.” Riveing said, to Dragonite, who looked at him and blinked. “Where am I? And who is that woman? She looks like she’s going to explode or something.” Dragonite said, standing up. Likeria had no idea what Dragonite was saying, so she didn’t pay attention “The woman is Likeria, you remember her, don’t you?” Riveing asked, his voice slightly gargled, by Likeria, who was pounding on his back, rapidly. Dragonite stood there, for a minute, remembering when Likeria was still with Riveing. Dragonite hugged Likeria, stopping her, from pounding on Riveing’s back. “Uh…Dragonite, I hope you realize a hug from you, is a like death grip.” Riveing said, walking away. Dragonite let go of Likeria, not realizing that she was turning blue. “Put a leash on your pokemon, will you?” Likeria yelled. Riveing turned around to face her. “If you keep that attitude, I won’t and I will happily not care what happens to you.” Riveing said, glaring at her. “You’re not the Likeria I remember, even though you ARE her.” Riveing added, then put Dragonite into it’s pokeball. “I may be wanted by the police, but tell the officers I’m clearing out Geenara and his goons. If they’re stupid enough to get in the way, they can expect a one team army coming their way.” Riveing said, walking by her, leaving Kiero and Likeria behind. “Hey, Dad! Wait up!” Kiero called out, chasing after him. (Within the pokecenter at Jiranur) “Look, I don’t know what you and that little squirt of yours think you’re doing hangin’ around, in plain sight, but I’m not letting you anywhere near nurse joy!” A trainer shouted at Riveing and Kiero, holding his hands out, a pokeball in each. “Look, we aren’t hear to cause trouble. Another thing is, we’re with the police, not against them. Third; you aren’t very smart picking a fight with someone, like me.” Riveing said, glaring at the trainer. “Um…Dad…go easy on him, alright?” Kiero said, nervously. A few seconds later, a police officer burst in, through the door. “What’s going on in here?” He asked, looking around. The trainer pointed at Riveing. “This guy’s on the wanted posters!” A girl blurted out, before the trainer could do the same. “Him?” The officer asked. “Someone was supposed to take the posters down, he’s after the leader of Team Magnum. Besides, I’ve been a major fan of this guy, ever since I was a kid! He won the grand pokemon league six times over!” The officer said. Riveing was obviously embarrassed. The trainer dropped his pokeballs in shock. “You mean this guy’s Riveing!? Dude, I never thought I’d get to ask this, but can I have your autograph!?” The trainer asked, ecstatically, running over to Riveing, who just as quickly, ran off. “Oh man, Dad can really run, when he’s in a hurry.” Kiero said, nervously, walking after him. He stopped and thought to himself a minute. “He’s probably headed for one of those secret base places.” (In the secret base at Jiranur…) “I wonder what surprise this place has…” Riveing said to himself as he walked down a hall. “Let me you tell you then, Captain Altezah!” A voice called out to him as tower-like structure rose out of a pool of lava, that Riveing had just noticed. “I’ve been waiting for a moment like this!” Another voice blocked out that of the other. “Can you hear me, Riveing? Good, ‘cause I want to wish you good luck on whatever you’re doing. It’s me, Firingo. I’m one of those ghost things you mentioned a week ago, pretty cool huh?” Firingo’s voice spoke to him. Riveing looked at the ground. “Does almost everyone I’ve killed come back and haunt me? Half of you guys, it was out of self defense, the other half either killed themselves, or I killed them, because I had to.” Riveing said and then about six voices answered, the same thing. “Yeah.” The voices said. Riveing pushed them away and looked to the top of the tower, to see a man in a crimson red uniform. “Call me Heatstroke.” The man said, bowing and taking a pokeball from their belt. “I know you, anyway, so Magmar! Show him the definition of hot!” Heatstroke shouted throwing the pokeball. “Heat stroke, might I mention, is a rather generic name.” Riveing said, taking a pokeball, from his own belt. “Come on! Let’s do it, Feraligatr!” Riveing shouted, throwing the pokeball. Time once again froze and he found himself in a forest, with vines all around. He could see large shadows, moving about, in the distance. The voice spoke to him again. “You’d best remember what this place looks like, for it will become very important.” The Voice said. “Here is where you will come across the pokemon that can defeat Geenara. You are in the other world. This is where the gate to the other world leads. You are in fact from the world you are in now, but you will not return quite yet. You still must gather the remaining eight keys, before you can assemble the team you require. You’ve seen Geenara’s charizard, have you not? It came from this world, not yours, that is the reason for it’s size. Within, you are not human at all. I can not suspend time in your world, for much longer, so I will return you, before it starts moving on it’s own.” The Voice said, as a bright flash overtook Riveing. “Wait! You keep leaving me with more questions than answers!” Riveing shouted, only to realize, he was back at the battle field, with Heatstroke. Time was still frozen, but it returned to normal, seconds later. |

Chapter 5 Heatstroke chuckled. “That’s exactly what I thought you’d do!” He exclaimed with a grin. “Secret is, that’s my only pokemon, but get this! That’s all I’ll need, to beat all of yours!” He added, pointing at Riveing, who just raised an eyebrow. “You see, even though it’s a magmar, I can use this device to modify it.” “A mirage pokemon? Or is it just the product of another twisted Team Magnum experiment?” Riveing asked, tensely. ‘If what he’s saying is true, then I really can’t beat him, unless I figure out how to DESTROY him AND the pokemon at once…’ Riveing thought to himself, while glaring at Heatstroke. “A little of both.” Heatstroke said cockily. “You first.” He said, smiling his face off. “Fine, then. Feraligatr, use hydro pump!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr opened it’s mouth and shot a large column of water. “That’s it? Magmar, electroflect!” Shouted Heatstroke and Magmar began to glow with a yellow light. “Feraligatr, watch out!” Riveing shouted, as Riveing saw what the attack would do. “Huh?” Feraligatr asked, looking back. Riveing his hand over his face. “Pay attention to the battle, not me!” He shouted and as Feraligatr, turned back to the fight, it’s hydro pump hit Magmar and bounced back, hitting Feraligatr, instead. After wards, from the water that splashed away, lightning shot up and came down on Feraligatr. Heatstroke laughed at them. “Is that really your best? You must have cheated your way to the top all the time.” Heatstroke shouted. “Shut up! Let’s see how you like this one! Feraligatr, let’s try out that new move!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr jumped into the air and opened it’s mouth again. What shot from it was a small water ball. Heatstroke looked at it and blinked, then burst out in laughter. “That’s your secret move? Just a little raindrop? That’s rich!” He screamed doubled over on the ground. “Looks are deceiving…” Riveing said, taking a small orb out of his pocket and throwing it to the ground. It formed a barrier around him. The almost unnoticeable drop of water hit Magmar and let off a loud roar. A few seconds afterward, the drop, which had not evaporated, expanded into a ten foot ball of water and burst, sending water everywhere. The barrier pushed the water away from Riveing, leaving him almost completely dry. The barrier disappeared, with the water. Riveing, Feraligatr, a wet and angry Heatstroke, along with an unfazed magmar were all in the area. Heatstroke jumped up, sopping wet. “Magmar, use solar beam!” Heatstroke shouted, pointing at Feraligatr. With that, Magmar sent a solar beam Feraligatr’s way. Feraligatr was much too slow to dodge the unusually fast attack and was knocked out. “You’re the real cheater, Heatstroke.” Riveing said, recalling Feraligatr into it’s pokeball. “Seeing as whatever pokemon I use, you’ll have an attack to counter it.” Riveing added, taking a second pokeball, while putting Feraligatr’s back where it was. “But now I’ve figured things out.” He threw the pokeball. “Dragonite, use hyper beam on the tower!” Riveing shouted and as Dragonite appeared, it shot an orange beam of energy into the tower Heatstroke was in. The tower tipped a bit toward the lava pool behind it. “Gah! Magmar, use ice beam!” Heatstroke shouted, grabbing the railing on the top of the tower. Magmar shot out a beam of white blue energy, which turned into ice, when it hit something. “Dodge it!” Riveing commanded and Dragonite moved out of the way. Riveing found that he had to move as well, to avoid the attack. “Use dragon breath on the tower!” Riveing shouted and dragonite shot a ball of orange energy from it’s mouth, but Magmar incinerated it, with a pillar of fire. “Magmar, use ice beam, one more time!” Heatstroke shouted. “I’m tired of all these illogical attacks! Dragonite, use hyper beam on the trainer!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite looked back at him, hesitantly. “It’s the only way WE’LL get out alive.” Riveing said, looking at Dragonite. Dragonite turned back around and used hyper beam. Heatstroke found himself trapped on top of the tower, as the attack came his way. The beam slammed into him, knocking him off the tower, screaming as he fell into the lava. The ice beam from Magmar hit Dragonite and knocked it out. “You did the right thing.” Riveing said, quietly, returning Dragonite to it’s pokeball. He looked back to where Magmar was and saw that it had disappeared when Heatstroke died. ‘But where’s the key?’ Riveing thought to himself, looking around. “Looking for this?” A familiar voice asked, from behind. Riveing turned around, to see Jason. He was holding the second key to Geenara‘s hideout. “Well, you’re not getting it!” He shouted, grabbing a pokeball from his belt. “Go, Scyther!” Jason shouted, throwing the pokeball. “What? Rayquaza didn’t make the cut?” Riveing asked, reaching for his third pokeball. He stopped reaching for the third pokeball and decided he wasn’t in the right spot for a battle with Jason. He only had half of his pokemon and Jason might have another extra pokemon he’d gotten since the last time they met, not to mention, he only had half a battle field. “It’s a shame, but I gotta run.” Riveing said, dashing up to Jason and snatching the key from him, then running out of the base, waving the Frisbee-like disc of a key. He was surprised that neither Scyther or Jason had bothered chase after him. Riveing decided not to think about it and made his way, back into town. (in the pokecenter) “About time you showed up.” Kiero said, walking over to Riveing. “You know how many people came in here, looking for autographs?” He asked. “I don’t think I want to know.” Riveing said, walking to the front desk. “Maybe I should find some magical way to make myself look like a different person.” He added, taking the two darkened pokeballs off his belt. “Oh, yeah, some guys in black suits ran in and kidnapped Nurse Joy.” Kiero said, like it was something normal. “And you didn’t bother stop them!?” Riveing asked, in amazement. He found it hard to believe that Kiero was his son, by how he acted. |

Chapter 6 “I don’t see why I had to go rescue Nurse Joy. Why couldn’t Dad do it? This sort of thing just isn’t fair, right, Crocanaw?” Kiero asked, walking down the path. Crocanaw had it’s arms crossed. “Not really. You did just let those guys get away with Nurse Joy. What? You expected me to run after them?” Crocanaw asked. “You really should take more responsibility, if you want to be like your Father--you can’t sit around, playing Solitaire.” “Fine, I get the point!” Kiero moaned. “But I stink, when it comes to fighting. It’s not that you or any of my other pokemon aren’t strong.” He said, putting his hands behind his head. “At least I don’t have to worry about getting killed as much as Dad. He’s after people who want to kill him, for stuff he’s done years ago.” He added. As he and Crocanaw walked, they could soon see one of the men in black, running into a hidden passage. Kiero grabbed a pokeball from his belt and ran after the man, recalling Crocanaw. “Ha! I’ve got you--” He began to say, but stopped. The man was gone, but instead was a long, metal hallway. Without thinking, he ran down it. Eventually the man came back into view. They were both still running. “Hold it! Zigzagoon, use quick attack!” Kiero shouted, throwing the pokeball and as Zigzagoon emerged, from the pokeball, it shot forward, with a stream of white behind it. Zigzagoon rammed into the man’s back, knocking him over. “Alright, I want answers! Where’s nurse joy?” Kiero asked, jumping on the man. “I ain’t telling you anything, Squirt!” The man shouted. “I’ll make Crocanaw bite you!” Kiero threatened, taking Crocanaw’s pokeball, from his belt. “Right, like I’m going to let it. Alright, Boys! Get him!” The man shouted as several other men in black suits came up behind Kiero. He turned around, as the men grabbed him. “What makes you think this’ll work?” One of the men asked. “It’s simple. Now that we’ve got his brat of a son, he’s got to come and save him. He’s only got two pokemon, so that’s when we bum-rush him.” Said the lead man. “Not if I can help it! Mudkip, hydro pump!” Came a familiar voice. A large blast of water hit the group of men, knocking them all down. The lead turned around. Now that Kiero got a good look at the man, he realized it was Jason. “Who invited you, Likeria?” He growled. “I invited myself, since you left the door open.” Likeria answered. “Now let the boy go!” She snapped. “No!” Came Jason’s answer. “I’m going to get revenge on Riveing, for killing my father!” “But that was an accident! Do you think Riveing would purposely drop a stone archway on an old man?” Likeria asked. “What’s the difference? He’s a MURDERER! He kills people for the hell of it!” Jason shouted, not paying attention to Kiero, who’d slipped past and was continuing past the unconscious men, down the hall. “No he doesn’t! And there’s a HUGE difference! If he purposely killed him, then he would have directed Dragonite to break that archway. It was just a mis-guided attack! Get over it!” She shouted. “Do you really think it’s that easy to forgive a murderer?” Jason asked. “I sure don’t. Why do you think it’s alright to kill?” He added. “I don’t! You’re not getting the point!” Likeria shouted. “You should at least try to be friends again! Haven’t you listened to what your mother always told you? ‘Those who strive to do one thing to another, may end up in that situation, but in reverse?’ If you keep trying to kill Riveing, he’ll just end up killing you!” She said, looking at him. “If you aren’t going to change your mind, you’ll have to kill ME first!” She shouted. “Fine then.” Jason said, quietly, as he took a pokeball from his belt. “Riveing, don’t you think you should hurry? Who knows what trouble your son might be getting yourself into?” Firingo asked . “Hey, I’m running as fast as I can, here. I’m not some sort of ninja.” Riveing said, as he ran down the same path Kiero had gone down. The sound of Firingo’s voice had once again brought up the memory of his death. “Go haunt someone else.” He added, as he made his way to the opening of the metal hallway. “What? You don’t want my help?” Firingo asked. “Just go away and find some other medium to talk to me with.” Riveing said, now running through the hall. He felt Firingo’s presence leave his head, as he came across Likeria’s body, lying on the floor. He propped her up against the wall and checked for a pulse. No pulse, but she was soaking wet. He stood up and angrily looked down the hall. “Alright, I’ve had enough! This ends today! Damn you, Jason! I’m gonna be the last thing you’ll EVER see!” He yelled, dashing down the hallway, with a pokeball in his hand. “Ah! Zigzagoon!” Kiero shouted as his fainted Zigzagoon slid to the floor beside him. He recalled it and reached for his last pokeball. He was up against a member of The Red Stripe Gang. “You can do this, Crocanaw.” He shouted, throwing Crocanaw’s pokeball. Stripe had a cyndaquil, that was on it’s last leg. “Right, let’s finish it with water gun.” Kiero said and Crocanaw unleashed a stream of water at cyndaquil, but it didn’t bother get try to get away. “Hmph. I’ve played with you enough.” Stripe said, recalling Cyndaquil. “Special delivery from Team Magnum! Go! Seviper!” Stripe shouted, throwing her last pokeball. A seviper that was enlarged four times it’s normal size, came from the pokeball. “I might as well tell you how I got this, since you won’t be living much longer. Team Magnum’s got a machine that can enlarge pokemon and increase their strength, as well. But, I’m not telling you anymore. After all, I’m not going to let you get away.” Stripe said, then pointed at him. “Seviper, use iron tail on Crocanaw, then deal with the boy, afterward!” She shouted and Seviper’s tail glowed white, as it slammed it into Crocanaw. “No!” Kiero shouted, recalling Crocanaw, as it flew through the air. He turned back to Stripe and Seviper. “Do what you want to the boy, just get rid of him.” Stripe said and Seviper reared it’s head back. “Sceptile, use vine whip!” Came Riveing’s voice, as two vines lashed out and pulled Kiero away, just as Seviper’s head came crashing into the ground. He turned around, as Riveing recalled Sceptile and sent out Dragonite. “But didn’t Dragonite faint in the last battle you had?” Kiero asked, confused. Riveing gave Kiero a strange potion. “They had a few max revives in this place, so I took some.” Riveing answered, looking at the confused Seviper. Stripe was laughing. “I guess you hit him so hard, he disappeared, when you hit him!” She shouted. Kiero chuckled, as Seviper looked at the large hole it left, in amazement. “Stay back.” Riveing said. “Dragonite, use spirit charge.” He whispered and Dragonite began to glow with a white aura. Kiero stepped away. “Now! Use hyper beam!” He shouted and Dragonite hit Seviper in the side of the head, with a beam of orange, swirling energy. The attack didn’t seem to do much, but it seemed as if it did damage. Riveing and Dragonite separated from Kiero, who hid in an alcove. “Seviper! Tackle!” Strip shouted and Seviper lunged forward at them. Dragonite knew enough to dodge on it’s own and Riveing jumped out of the way as well. Seviper hit the wall, since it’s size made the battlefield a cramped area. “Now, Dragonite! Use dragon’s wrath!” Riveing shouted. Dragon’s wrath was the next step up, from dragon rage. Dragonite opened it’s mouth and shot three red beams, each spin around each other, then rocketed straight into Seviper. “Now that’s what I call a direct hit.” Riveing said, as the attack drove Seviper into the wall with more force than it’s tackle had. “Come on, use Iron tail!” Stripe shouted and without looking, Seviper swung it’s glowing tail, as it turned around, completely missing Riveing and Dragonite. Stripe was starting to get frustrated. “Alright, use hyper beam again!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite sent the familiar beam of orange, swirling energy, from it’s mouth, hitting Seviper in the head. “This is just stupid! Seviper return!” Stripe shouted, recalling her seviper. “We’ll meet again! I’m not about to waste my time on small fry, like you!” She added and ran off. “Look who’s talking, you just ran from a fight.” Kiero said, under his breath. “Hey, Dad. I heard there’s some machine in here, that’s making those huge pokemon. Have you seen something like that?” He asked. “I already destroyed it.” Riveing said. “That’s been around for years--since I was your age. No one really used it, so it was put here. Apparently they found a use for it.” He added. “That bastard Jason wasn’t anywhere, either. He must’ve took off. Nurse Joy’s headed back to the pokecenter, with a couple other trainers. The only reason I came, was because I just had a feeling you’d need help.” He said. Suddenly, time around him stopped and everything grew dark. He could see the portal to the other world. “Hm…so that machine was the cause of Geenara’s giant charizard…I see. “ Said the voice. “It appears your son can hold his own, against normal pokemon, but he’ll need help with those larger ones.” It added. “You think? Why don’t you show yourself? Give me a name or something!” Riveing shouted, into the darkness. “That is for you to find out in time. Until then, farewell.” Said the voice and the darkness disappeared, as time began to flow again. Yes, I know that was a short chapter, but oh well. I’m starting to lose interest in this story, but that doesn’t mean I don’t intend to finish it. Anyway, that’s my update for the time being, so I’m just gonna leave you hanging until the next update…if you’re still reading this. |

Chapter 7 Riveing looked around a dark hall. “It’s hard to believe there’s a key here.” He said to himself. Kiero had already left the underground structure, leaving him behind, to look for the key. ‘Worse, it gets darker, the farther I go’ He thought to himself, as he began walking. ‘Probably to add to it is that Jason has the real key and whoever’s supposed to be guarding the key has some sort of trick that’ll turn them into a pushover, if I know how to get around it.’ He held one of his pokeballs, in case he were attacked. He walked through the darkness until he finally came into a large, open room. Light quickly filled the room and a door slammed shut, behind him. He looked up, to see massive diamond chandeliers, glittering in the light. There were metal ledges and spikes jutting out, from the walls. A large pit was in the middle of the room. It had four large poles coming up, from the bottom. “So, you took the care to venture further into the darkness, did you?” A voice asked, as a platform slowly descended from the ceiling. The pit suddenly grew larger and the four poles glowed. “Though, it would have been a wiser choice to leave. Do you know what’s at the bottom of that pit?” The voice asked, as the platform stopped, with a man on it. His black and grey suit shined in the light. “Spikes…nothing but spikes.” He said, sternly, as the four glowing poles sent out purple, glowing lines to each other. The lines spread out, to make a square field of purple energy. “By the way, the name’s Hirokian.” The name hit Riveing hard. Hirokian was a name he’d heard before. Hirokian was one of the few people he’d never been able to defeat. “Remember me? I’m your copy, your alter ego. You could say we’re related…but I’m much better than you could ever hope to be.” Hirokian said, pointing at him, with a pokeball in his hand. “I’m a change man, Hiroki…I don’t plan to lose this time…I can’t…I’ll have my revenge on Jason, if it’s the last thing I do!” Riveing shouted, ready to throw his own pokeball. “Oh dear me, Jason has incurred the wrath of mighty Riveing?” Hirokian asked, mockingly. “I’d like to see how this would unfold…a loser versus another loser…what an exciting match-up.” Hirokian said as he clapped his hands. “Shut up!” Riveing shouted, throwing his pokeball. It froze in midair, along with time. He found himself in darkness and facing the gate to the other world. “Riveing!” The mysterious voice of the void boomed. “You shouldn’t blindly rush into a battle! You may be angry, but that doesn’t mean you should challenge those you can’t defeat. Think about--” Riveing interrupted the voice. “Send me back!” He shouted. “I don’t want to hear from you until the time’s come!” He shouted and the darkness quickly faded away. He heard the voice sigh, then time began moving again. His pokeball flew over to the platform and released Feraligatr. “Whatever happened to Arbok? It was your number one pokemon. Go, Arbok!” Hirokian shouted, throwing his own pokeball, releasing Arbok onto the platform. “After all, we have the same pokemon. What’s in your fourth pokeball?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at Riveing. “Did you pass it up, for a legendary?” He asked. “Just wait and find out. You clone.” Riveing said, harshly. “Feraligatr, whatever you do, don’t let Arbok wrap around you.” He said to Feraligatr, who wordlessly nodded. “Alright! Start this with dynamic punch!” Riveing commanded and Feraligatr charged at Arbok, with it’s right arm back. “That’s your best shot? Arbok, jump over it.” Hirokian said, casually and Arbok sprung into the air, from it’s coiled position, arc right over Feraligatr, as it charge with it’s glowing fist. Feraligatr stopped it’s attack, looking back at Arbok, in surprise. Riveing was equally surprised. They’d never expected to see an arbok jump. “Now, Arbok, use wrap.” Hirokian continued, tiredly. “Dodge it!” Riveing shouted an Feraligatr spun out of the way, in time to avoid Arbok, as it lunged at it. “Try dynamic punch again!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr quickly spun back to Arbok, which had stopped itself and punched it, with a glowing fist. Arbok began swaying dizzily, as Feraligatr’s punch made contact. “Now follow that with slash!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr spun a full three-sixty, as it slashed Arbok’s raised area of it’s body. “Pull yourself together, Arbok!” Hirokian shouted and Arbok shook it’s head, recovering from it’s confusion. “Now, while it’s stopping itself! Use wrap!” Hirokian shouted and Arbok quickly wrapped around Feraligatr, squeezing it as hard as it could. “Feraligatr, can you hear me?” Riveing asked, concerned. Feraligatr just managed to nod. “Okay then, try using bite!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr opened it’s mouth, ready bite Arbok’s head off if it had to. “Look out!” Hirokian shouted to Arbok, who was too busy squeezing Feraligatr to pay attention. Feraligatr bit down on Arbok, behind it’s head and it quickly uncoiled itself and thrashed about, threatening to throw Feraligatr off it’s balance. “Hey, that’s an illegal attack!” Hirokian shouted at Riveing, angrily. “Why don’t you fight with honor?” He asked, pointing at him. “Yeah, right. Okay, Feraligatr, give it a good toss into the wall!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr let go of Arbok and grabbed it with it’s hands, rather than it’s jaw. Feraligatr threw the flailing pokemon right into the side of one of the platforms, projecting from the wall. Arbok made a loud crunch as well. “No! Arbok!” Hirokian shouted and quickly returned it to it’s pokeball. “If that’s how you’re going to fight, then fine! Do this for Arbok, Sceptile!” He yelled, throwing his second pokeball, releasing Sceptile onto the platform. “You’ve had enough, Feraligatr.” Riveing said, recalling Feraligatr, while throwing Charizard’s pokeball. Charizard shot to the platform in a mass of red energy. “Don’t wait! Use rapid blade!” Hirokian shouted and the leaves on Sceptile’s wrists glowed, as it dashed at Charizard in a green streak. Charizard found itself being knocked around by the constant leaf blade attacks. “Now, use razor leaf and knock it over the edge!” Hirokian shouted. “Charizard, use fire whip!” Riveing shouted and Charizard spun, hitting Sceptile in the face with the tip of it’s tail. The flame on it’s tail left a burn mark “Now use crystal shot and flame thrower, together!” He shouted and Charizard sent a shower of crystal shards, mixed in a pillar of fire, at Sceptile. “Now, Sceptile! Deflect it with our new move!” Hirokian shouted and Sceptile crossed it’s arms, with the leaves on it’s wrists glowing. It quickly spun it’s arms in a circle and form a circle of white, which absorbed Charizard’s attack, then shot it back. “Now add to it, with bullet seed!” He added and Sceptile shot several glowing seeds from it’s mouth. “Flap your wings and stop it, Charizard!” Riveing shouted and Charizard flapped it’s wings, hard enough to raise a wind that slowed the fire and crystal shards enough, so the fire trickled out and the crystals fell to the ground. “Now that’s defense! Use fireball!” He added and Charizard held it’s right arm back, with a glowing ball of light in it. “Sceptile, use razor tail!” Hirokian shouted and Sceptile instantly dashed forward. The ball of light in Charizard’s hand caught fire, as Sceptile closed in. Sceptile spun to attack with it’s tail, just as Charizard threw the fireball. “Yes!” “Dodge!” Riveing shouted and Charizard, quickly moved, but was caught by the tip of Sceptile’s tail. “Try flamethrower, while you can still fight!” He exclaimed and Charizard breathed a pillar of flame at Sceptile, who was now vulnerable. The attack missed, as Charizard fell to the ground and fainted. “You fought great…” Riveing said, his voice trailing off, as he recalled Charizard. He took his next pokeball and threw it. “Show ‘im who’s boss, Dragonite!” He shouted, as Dragonite appeared on the platform, in a bright light. “Use dragon wrath!” He shouted and Dragonite sent a red, lightning-like beam at Sceptile. The beam split into three and converged on Sceptile, knocking it out. Riveing recalled Dragonite and threw Feraligatr’s pokeball, as Hirokian threw his third and last. It was Feraligatr, against Feraligatr. “Start this, with dynamic punch!” Riveing shouted and R. Feraligatr shot forward, holding it’s arm back, as it’s fist glowed white. “Use counter-toss!” Hirokian yelled and H. Feraligatr sidestepped R. Feraligatr’s attack and threw it to the ground. “Now use hydro pump!” He shouted and H. Feraligatr unleashed a steady stream of water into R. Feraligatr’s back. “Recover with slash, Feraligatr!” Riveing shouted and R. Feraligatr flipped over, clawing H. Feraligatr, and jumping high into the air. “Now use hydro pump, to get on the chandelier!” He added and R. Feraligatr shot a column of water into the ground, pushing itself up onto the chandelier above. “You too, Feraligatr!” Hirokian shouted and H. Feraligatr did the same as R. Feraligatr. “Use dynamic punch as an uppercut! Throw slash into the equation, too!” Riveing shouted and R. Feraligatr leapt forward, with it’s arm out and it’s claw glowing white. Just as H. Feraligatr landed on the chandelier, R. Feraligatr swung it’s arm upward, scratching H. Feraligatr, then formed a fist and punched it in the jaw. “Now break the chain, holding the chandelier up!” Riveing shouted and R. Feraligatr dashed over to the thick chain and grabbed onto it. “Hurry, Feraligatr! Use seismic toss and throw it off the chandelier!” Hirokian shouted and H. Feraligatr leapt at R. Feraligatr, but was too late; the chain had snapped. “Now get back over here!” Riveing shouted up to R. Feraligatr and it ran to the edge of the chandelier and jumped down, landing next to Riveing. The chandelier quickly fell too fast for H. Feraligatr to escape. It rose into the air as the chandelier fell faster. “Ah, no!” Hirokian shouted as he helplessly watched the chandelier, along with H. Feraligatr fall to the spikes below. “I’ll be back someday! Count on it!” Hirokian shouted, recalling feraligatr, as he turned and ran. The disk-like key landing on the ground, in front of Riveing. He recalled Feraligatr and picked up the key. “Really? Sorry, but the spots of arch nemesis one and two are both taken.” He said, as he put the key away. He now had three of the eight keys to Geenara’s hideout. One more and he’d be halfway to saving the rest of his family. Just as he turned around, someone shot him with a dart gun… |

Chapter eight Riveing awoke to find himself in a white room. He sat up, in the bed he was in and looked around. He had sensors all over his body, and there was a one way window on one side of the room. He gathered the wires that connected the sensors and with one tug, yanked them all off. He got out of the bed, to find himself in a white cloak, other than that, he didn’t have anything. “Who are you?” He asked, pointing to the mirror window. “I know you’re in there!” He shouted, glaring at the people he couldn’t see. A doctor came in, with a pair of shock paddles. Riveing quickly snatched the shock paddles and zapped the doctor and an alarm sounded, soon afterward. He got into the doctor’s clothes and took off, down a hall. ‘I have to find my pokemon!’ He thought, as he ran. ‘But…where do I start looking?’ “Attention all security personnel! Test subject number one-sixteen has escaped! He is disguised as a doctor, treat all male medical personnel with suspicion, until further notice!” The intercom blared. “Hey you! Where are you running to?” A guard asked, coming around the bend, in front of him. Riveing used the shock paddles and zapped the guard, then stole their dart gun. He ran off, looking back, as he held the dart gun pointed up. “The suspect is in sector F! Repeat, the suspect is in sector F! Do not allow him to retrieve his pokemon!” The intercom rang out, as he ran down a hall. He stopped at a fork and looked both ways. ‘This way first!’ He shouted in his mind as he ran down the hall to the left. He quickly came upon yet another fork. He went right and into a room. His belt, along with all the keys and his pokeballs were on a desk. He was about to run over and grab the belt, when he stopped himself and looked around. ‘This seems too easy…’ He thought as he looked around. He could see a small shine along the floor, stretching to the ceiling, then to the belt. There was another invisible thread weaving around a few inches from the floor. He carefully stepped around and grabbed his belt, jumping toward the door at the same time. He tackled it open, hitting a guard, as he put on his belt. He shot the guard with a dart, to make sure they stayed down for a while, then ran off. “All security personnel, the suspect has retrieved his pokemon and is now extremely dangerous! Exercise extreme caution!” The lady on the intercom shouted. Riveing doubled the pace in which he ran. when he made it through the halls, into the field outside the large facility, he looked back, to recognize the place from his childhood. “Bring back memories?” A familiar voice asked. Riveing turned to it. “Shove it, Jason!” He shouted angrily, as he turned to Jason, who was ready for a battle. “I don’t have time for you!” He added. “No way! This ends here! You ran away last time! Not only that, you beat Hiroki! I’m not letting you get any farther than three keys! I’m collecting them for reasons I’ll never tell!” Jason shouted, giving Riveing the finger. “Oh, that’s it! You’re on!” Riveing yelled, grabbing Charizard’s pokeball. “You killed Likeria and I’m not letting you get away with it! You bastard! If there’s one thing I do, it’s going to be getting back at you!” He shouted, throwing the pokeball. Jason threw his. “Go, Scyther! Use fury swipes!” Jason shouted, as Scyther came out of the pokeball. It instantly leapt forward. “Charizard, use crystal shot at the sky, then dodge the attack!” Riveing shouted and Charizard sent a shower of crystal into the air, then moved out of Scyther’s way. “Use cut!” Jason shouted and Scyther came for another round, with one of it’s bladed forearms ready to take a swing at Charizard. “Now, use flamethrower!” Riveing shouted and Charizard turned to Scyther. As Scyther drew nearer, Charizard sent a pillar of fire it’s way. The attack was deflected by Scyther’s blades. “Flame tail!” Riveing shouted and Charizard whipped it’s tail through the air, with such speed, that it left a line of fire in the path it’s tail had taken. Scyther leapt over the fire and came down on Charizard. “Okay, Charizard! Grab Scyther and throw it into the air!” Riveing shouted and Charizard quickly grabbed Scyther and threw it toward the sky. Suddenly, all the crystal Charizard had sent up came back down, knocking Scyther back to the ground. “You can do it! Quick attack!” Jason yelled and Scyther quickly leapt to it’s feet and smashed into Charizard, head on. “Now use cut again!” Jason shouted and Scyther swung it’s forearm, leaving a long scratch across Charizard’s chest. “Hang in just a little longer! Use flamethrower!” Riveing shouted and Charizard let loose a large pillar of flames, but it split into four separate streams of lave and hit Scyther from behind. ‘Talk about unexpected.’ Riveing thought, this time, not being surprised by the new attack. Scyther couldn’t battle after the attack, but instead began to glow white. “No way!” Riveing shouted. “After all that?” He asked, quietly, watching as Scyther evolved. As soon as the evolution finished, Scizor struggled to it’s feet. “Let’s do this! Use guillotine!” Jason shouted and Scizor dashed forward, with one of it’s claws opened and stretched out in front of it. “Watch out! Stop the attack, Charizard! Flamethrower!” Riveing yelled and Charizard shot a pillar of fire, which quickly turned blue, from the heat and hit Scizor, as it snapped it’s claw around Charizard’s neck. The flamethrower came to an abrupt stop, as both Charizard and Scizor fainted. “You deserve more than a rest, Charizard.” Riveing said quietly, as he recalled Charizard. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed an espeon and a mightyena sitting on a cliff face, watching the battle. Jason noticed them too. “Hmph…those double crossers.” Jason mumbled to himself. He looked back to Riveing. “Wait. Why are we fighting? We used to be friends, but now we’re bitter enemies and why? Because Geenara has something we’re both after. Can’t you see? He’s pitting us against each other. We’ve been used this whole time.” Riveing said, suddenly understanding the situation. “Like I’m going to actually fall for your peace tricks!” Jason shouted. “This is hopeless!” Riveing shouted. “If you won’t listen, then we’ll have to settle this permanently!” He added, taking a pokeball from his belt. A force quickly stopped his arm and his surroundings turned pitch black, but Jason was with him. “Both you two, get along for once! If you’re going to come to blows over a common goal, then maybe I shouldn’t have helped either of you!” The voice scolded them. “Together you have six out of eight keys! Just two more and you’ll both be able to claim what you desire. Riveing is right; Geenara has been using you two against each other. You’re the only ones with the skill to defeat him. If he got you to kill each other, he would be free to do as he pleases, the world over!” The voice shouted. Riveing nodded and held his hand out. “Friends again?” He asked, smiling. Jason wordlessly grabbed his second pokeball. The smile on his face turned to an angry frown. “Stubborn bastard…” He whispered under his breath, grabbing his second pokeball, as well. “Go, Ampharos!” Jason shouted, as he threw his pokeball. “Now use thunder punch, before Riveing releases his pokemon!” Jason shouted and Ampharos started toward Riveing, with it’s fist crackling with electricity. “Go! Dragonite! Dragon wrath!” Riveing shouted as he threw the pokeball and jumped away from Ampharos’s attack. As soon as Dragonite emerged from it’s pokeball, in the usual flash of light, it attacked Ampharos with a red, lightning-like beam that split into three and converged on it. “Electro-field!” Jason shouted and Ampharos projected a dome of electricity around itself and Dragonite’s attack disappeared on contact with the attack. “Use white flame, Dragonite!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite sent a pillar of pure white fire at the dome of electricity. The electricity soaked up the attack and began to glow very brightly. “How the hell?” Jason exclaimed, in confusion of what was happening. ‘It’s only a matter of time until that shield bursts, taking Ampharos with it…’ Riveing thought, as he nervously watched Ampharos, as it struggled with the last of it’s waning strength, to hold it’s shield. “Jason, stop this fight!” Riveing burst out. “I’m not giving up, until I win! Even if it costs me my life!” Jason shouted. “You’re even willing to sacrifice the life of one of your pokemon?” Riveing asked, angrily. “Winning isn’t that important! Just stop fighting!” He added. Jason didn’t tell Ampharos to let go of it’s shield, but instead, watched as the dome grew ever brighter. Ampharos let out a loud cry of pain and anguish, as the dome turned bright white and exploded, with tremendous force. “You can’t be serious!” Riveing yelled, as he looked in horror at the crater that the explosion left. When the smoke cleared, Ampharos was nowhere in sight… (to be continued…) “You’re a monster…” Riveing said, his voice trailing off as he looked at the smoking crater. Ampharos was gone forever and there was nothing he could do about it. It died, serving it’s master, until the end of it’s life. “Do you know that?” Riveing asked Jason, looking away from the crater. Jason had a devilish smile on his face. “You bastard…you don’t even care about your pokemon…” Riveing said, recalling Dragonite and grabbing his third pokeball. “Do you think I give a **** about my pokemon? What sap cares for pokemon that lose?” Jason asked, taking his third and final pokeball. “I can’t believe you…after all we’d done together in our younger days…this is how it has to end?” Riveing asked. “Then I won’t complain, if I don’t have a choice. I’ll just have to kill you! Go, Sceptile!” Riveing shouted, throwing his third pokemon. “Don’t mess up, Machamp!” Jason yelled, throwing his pokeball. “Use cross chop!” He shouted and Machamp began running at Sceptile. “Dodge it, Sceptile.” Riveing said and Sceptile looked back at him curiously, then waited to avoid Machamp’s attack, as it swing it’s hands in an X. “Now use chain leaf!” Riveing commanded and Sceptile formed two dagger-shaped leaves in it’s hands, then threw them, attached to chains made out of vines. “Now throw it into the air!” Riveing shouted and Sceptile swung Machamp in several circles, then up into the air. “Now rapid leaf!” He added and Sceptile jumped toward it, with the leaves on it’s wrists glowing. “Counter it!” Jason shouted and Machamp grabbed Sceptile by the arm and began punching it in the face, continually. “Come on, Sceptile! Break away and use razor tail!” Riveing shouted and Sceptile punched back, then began to spin with it’s tail glowing white. It disappeared, then reappeared on the ground. “Punch it on your way down, Machamp!” Jason shouted and Machamp recovered itself, from it’s daze and held one of it’s arms back, as it fell toward Sceptile. “Lookout!” Riveing shouted to Sceptile, but it was too late. Machamp socked Sceptile square in the head, knocking it out…but Machamp fainted as it hit the ground. Riveing recalled Sceptile, as he looked at Jason, who recalled Machamp and threw all his pokeballs away. “You lost.” Riveing said, glaring at him. “Oh, contraire. I still have one thing left.” Jason said, taking a needle from an inner pocket of his vest. “You see…I’m going to test out Geenara’s new product.” He said, looking at the needle. “It’s tested and has worked time and time again…so…it’s been nice knowing you. I’ll burn you to a crisp.” He said, injecting himself. Riveing watched as the injection threw him into convulsions… To be continued… Chapter 8 part 3 ---------------------------- In a bright flash, Jason disappeared. Riveing looked at the spot where he once was, in confusion. Did he just blow himself up? He wondered, as he looked at the spot. He could hear something large behind him, but he had a hunch it was Jason. He turned around to see nothing. Just then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something that looked like a bird on fire. He turned to it, to see Moltres diving at him. He jumped out of the way and sent out Feraligatr. Jason had turned himself into Moltres. How many legendary pokemon will I have to fight? Riveing thought to himself, as he stood up. “I don’t work for Geenara anymore! Hand over the keys or else!” He heard Jason’s voice shout at him. “Knowing you, you just want revenge on Geenara for something, don’t you?” Riveing asked. “Yeah, well, I have a better motive. Feraligatr, use hydro pump!” Riveing shouted. Feraligatr opened it’s mouth, wide and a large burst of water shot from it, toward Moltres. The attack had a direct hit, but didn’t seem to do much. Moltres came down for another go at Riveing. “Now, use dynamic punch and smash it to the ground!” Riveing shouted and Feraligatr held a fist back, as it waited for Moltres to come close. Moltres completely missed Feraligatr and was on a bee-line, straight for Riveing. By now, Moltres had come much too close for him to avoid the attack. Feraligatr helplessly watched as it’s trainer braced himself for the unavoidable attack. Suddenly, in a burst of lightning, Riveing quickly found himself several feet away from Moltres, which had plowed into the ground, after being zapped. He looked back, to see Ampharos holding onto his arm. Now even more confused, he looked from Ampharos, to the crater. “It’s been a long time.” Said a familiar voice, as someone walked up to him. It was Gus. “Let me clear up the whole thing.” He said, helping Riveing up, from his sitting position. *Yes, a flashback!* “Umbreon, help Ampharos, with a quick attack.” Gus said to Umbreon. It nodded and shot off, toward the glowing dome of electricity, and returned, with a very weak Ampharos clinging onto it. *Flashback’s over* “So that’s why nothing was left of Ampharos…it wasn’t in the explosion at all.” Riveing said, now understanding the situation. “So that bastard Jason is…you’ve got to be kidding--that’s what the injection did?” He asked himself, looking at the twitching Moltres on the ground. Moltres got up and turned into a white outline of itself. The outline changed into Zapdos. “And Jason isn’t done yet.” Riveing said, as he recalled Feraligatr and sent out Sceptile. “Use razor leaf!” He shouted, standing up. Sceptile quickly formed several leaves in it’s hands and threw them at Zapdos, as it rose from the ground. A wave of electricity flowed from Zapdos’ body and turned the leaves to ash. Riveing hesitated a moment, thinking of an attack that might work. He quickly picked up the biggest rock near him and threw it over, in front of Sceptile. “Now, Sceptile! Use bullet seed!” He shouted, as the rock flew through the air. Sceptile, instantly realizing what the rock was for, sent a storm of gold, glowing seeds at it. The seeds shattered the rock, taking bits of it with them. Zapdos destroyed the seeds, but couldn’t affect the rock. The broken pieces of the rock hit Zapdos, with tremendous force, causing it recoil. “Alright, now’s our chance! Get up there and use razor tail!” Riveing shouted and Sceptile dashed, across the field and jumped up to Zapdos, in a blur, seeming to pass through it, as it’s tail stopped glowing. “Now use it one more time!” Riveing added and Sceptile passed through Zapdos, as it came to the ground. Zapdos had reached it’s limit and came crashing to the ground, just as Sceptile had gotten back over to Riveing. The entire area grew silent. “Did that get him?” Gus asked, leaning forward. Jason wasn‘t done yet. Now Zapdos was morphing into Groudon. “You’ve got to be kidding!” Riveing shouted, recalling Sceptile and sending out Feraligatr again. “Feraligatr, use Hydro pump!” Riveing commanded. Groudon began charging up a hyperbeam. As the column of water rushed at it, it released the attack and the orange beam of energy destroyed the water, completely and hit Feraligatr, sending it sliding across the ground. “Can you stand up, Feraligatr?” Riveing asked it. “No…” Was it’s answer. Riveing silently recalled it into it’s pokeball and glared back at Groudon. “Now what?” He thought, as he stood there. “Come on, Poliwrath!” Gus shouted, throwing his own pokeball. He looked to Riveing. “Run while you can…we can’t beat him like this.” Gus said. “And leave you to fight alone?” Riveing asked, looking at him. “I don’t want any more of my friends dying.” He said. “You’re the only trainer in the region who can beat Geenara…if you died, then we’d all be doomed.” Gus said. “Is that really what you want?” He asked, tears forming in his eyes. “That’s why I want you to run. It’s for the good of the world, not just yourself. I…I want to be a hero, like you…that’s all I ever wanted. You were my role model, ever since we met. Be strong.” Gus said, quietly. “Quit being emotional…I’m staying.” Riveing said. “If you’re staying, I’m staying.” Riveing said. “No!” Gus shouted, shoving him the opposite direction of Groudon. “Just go away! I can’t stall it forever. Hurry!” He added. Riveing stared in amazement. “I won’t forget this…” Riveing said, running off. Gus, seeing that Riveing had finally, left, turned back to Groudon. “You want a piece of this!?” He shouted at it. “Poliwrath, use water gun!” He shouted, pointing at Groudon. Meanwhile, the espeon and mightyena talked to each other. They both started after Riveing. “How could you actually do that!?” Firingo’s voice echoed into Riveing’s head. ”You just left your own friend to fight Groudon alone, like that.” “Shut up!” Riveing shouted. “It’s Geenara’s fault all this is happening! And you know what? He’s in for it, as soon as I get to him!” He added. “I have more than one score to settle--I have to carry the hopes and dreams of the people he’s killed! I don’t want to let anyone else die, because of him or his stupid experiments!” He yelled, running ever faster, as the three keys Jason had, appeared in his collection, with the others. ------------------------------- And so came an end to the last of Riveing’s childhood friends. Now with pure rage in his heart, what’s in store for Geenara and the remaining two guardians of the keys to his base? |

Chapter 9 “What do you want?” Riveing asked, emotionlessly, as he looked at the espeon and mightyena that blocked his path. The two pokemon looked at each other, then back to him. Espeon spoke. “We want to help.” It said. “You can expect Jason to come after you.” Added Mightyena. “He doesn’t have a weakness. He’s invincible in the pokemon state he invokes, with that needle.” Continued Espeon. Riveing listened, without much emotion on his face. “I’d expect at least a slight smile, from you. After all, you do want revenge, do you? We have a common goal. If we work together--” “This isn’t about revenge.” Riveing said, coldly. “I have a family to rescue. That’s something I can do on my own.” He added and began walking down the path, going past the two pokemon. “Or so you say…” Mightyena mumbled. Riveing stopped and looked back at them. “Clear your head-- it’s too clouded by your emotions. If you can’t think clearly, chances are, you’ll fail.” It added. “It’s true.” Espeon said, still looking ahead of itself. “If Gus hadn’t shown up, when he did, where’d you be? Lying back in that field. Dead, perhaps? Though you may not think it, you’ve been aided countless times. You can’t battle, without your pokemon. That counts as being helped, in the book.” “Big deal.” Riveing said. “You won’t be able to defeat Geenara with just four pokemon. Chances are, whoever is talking to you about the pokemon you need, is lying. In fact, that voice is Geenara’s.” Mightyena said. At that, Riveing spun around. “I know the sound of Geenara’s voice, when I hear it.” He said. “Even so, the space you are put in, changes minor aspects, that ultimately, give his voice a drastic change. It’d be possible for a man to speak in that space and sound like a woman.” Espeon said. “He is leading you into a trap. There are no keys, just his stronghold. If you bring those keys to his stronghold, you’d be making a fatal mistake.” It added, turning to look at him. “Those discs contain the power source for a device that can warp time and space, itself. If you keep this course, you’ll be the on who’s to blame for the utter downfall of the universe.” Mightyena said, in a dark tone. “If we hadn’t come, then you might have fallen into this trap. You need us, whether you like it or not…we know every fault in his plan.” It added. Riveing thought everything over, intensely. “Are you taking us, or not?” It asked, impatiently. Riveing silently held out two spare pokeballs and captured the two willing pokemon. “God I hope they’re right.” Riveing said to himself. “What, you don’t trust them?” Firingo’s voice asked. “Well, I don’t know who I should trust at this point. I’ll go with their idea and skip straight to Geenara’s base.” Riveing answered, putting the two pokeballs, with the rest. “But I’m not about to go there with only half my pokemon conscious.” He added, continuing down the path. *In Geenara’s stronghold* “So what’s your plan for world domination, this time?” Gus asked. He’d been chained to a chair, on the other side of Geenara’s desk. “I can tell you, whatever it is, this time you’ll--” Geenara cut him off. “Oh, I don’t plan to rule this world…I intend to destroy it. After all these years, my research has finally paid off. I’ve found a way to travel into another existence--not just a mere universe, but an entirely different dimension, in a way. I don’t need this world, so why not just destroy it?” Geenara asked, smiling. “You see, I have your friend on my side. He’s doing everything, just as I planned. Once he brings the power source for my bomb, well…you get the rest.” He said, not waiting for an answer. “I can’t believe you.” Gus said. “Only a mind like yours could come up with such evil plans. I’m sure glad Riveing didn’t follow in your footsteps. Chances are, he’s figured it out and is coming over right now!” He exclaimed. Geenara laughed. “You actually believe he’s onto me? I’ve set the perfect plan in motion. Those pokemon I’ll give him, once he has all eight…are clones of legendaries, genetically modified to be as weak as possible. When he gets the pokemon and comes after me, it’ll be over rather quickly. Besides, I always have a backup. I also have his family. If he doesn’t bring the power, then his family dies. He’ll be ruined if that happened. If he brings the power, then he’ll get his family back, because I won’t be around to see the fireworks.” Geenara said, grimly. “By the way, I have something you might be interested in…” He added, his voice trailing off, as he took a needle from his desk drawer. Gus struggled against the chains, but quickly realized he had no way to escape. “You’re a mad man.” Gus said under his breath, as he sat there. “Oh, don’t worry--it’s completely painless. Besides, I could use another Super Magnum.” Geenara said, looking at him. ---------- There...all nine current chapters of the story...now to work on number ten... |

If you're gonna turn me into anything, turn me into a totodile--feraligatr's one of my fav. pokemon. Anyway, on topic. I am working on it, but I have a life (obviously) and other stories to work on, so it'll take a while. The least it would take would be another week. The most would probably be a month... |

Okay I have a reason for taking so long with this update…I had writer’s block…for a long time. Also I’ve been pretty busy, so here it is. ==================================== Chapter 10 Riveing walked out the doors of the pokecenter and began walking in the direction of Geenara’s stronghold. Team Magnum’s base of operations. ’So apparently all that was part of Geenara’s plan, huh?’ He thought. ’Well, then I’ll give him a tip for making me do his dirty work. I can’t believe I fell for this in the first place. I’ll wreck him! *Skipping the trip to the stronghold…* “Stop right there!” Shouted a man in a Team Magnum Executive’s uniform. Riveing glared at him, holding a pokeball. “Unless you want to be a pile of ashes, get out of the stronghold and don’t come back--it won’t be around anymore.” He said and the Executive thought for a second. “And what makes you so confident that threat’s going to work?” The Executive asked, taking a pokeball from his belt. “Because I can make it happen! Charizard, flamethrower!” Riveing shouted throwing his pokeball. Charizard came out with a flash of red energy and hit the man with a column of fire. Riveing recalled his pokemon and continued past the screaming Executive. “I did warn you.” He said as he walked past and continued through the halls. The various surveillance cameras monitored his every move. Thus, Geenara would know his every move. He eventually came upon a large room…on the other side stood Geenara, who looked far from happy. “So, you figured things out eh? Connected the ends?” He asked. “You think you’ve ruined my plans? In case you haven’t realized, I still have my finger on the trigger.” He said as the ceiling split away, to reveal an elevator shaft that seemed to go on for an eternity. Geenara pointed to a second smaller shaft. “You see that shaft? Your beloved family is in a cage, dangling miles above us. When I press the button, they’ll come crashing down…and we’ll go up, farther than the clouds, possibly into space. It all depends on how long it takes for me to put you out of your misery. Once the lift starts, it can’t be stopped. If we get to high, I’ll just go to the other world. If it weren’t for that meddling espeon and her partner, I’d still have you doing exactly as I planned. But personally, I’ve been waiting for this moment.” He said, with a smile. “What? The day when I waste you?” Was Riveing’s angry reply. “Oh, no…quite the opposite. It’s just a shame you won’t see your family again. Oh, yes. If you were wondering about your dear friend, Gus, he had a rather…” Geenara’s voice trailed off, as he searched for the words, “fatal, reaction.” He finished his sentence with a conceited grin. “Sometimes, you don’t know when to shut up.” Riveing said, grabbing a pokeball, from his belt. “You act like your tough, but you’re really just afraid to fight me, because you know you’ll lose.” “So, you want to skip straight to the slaughter? Fine then.” Geenara said and pressed the button. The floor began to rise and the cable leading down the smaller shaft swayed as the cage high above sped down it. “What are we waiting for, here?” Geenara asked, throwing a pokeball toward the middle of the lift. Riveing followed suite. On Geenara’s side: Pidgeot. On Riveing’s: Espeon. Geenara got the first attack off. “Pidgeot, quick attack!” Geenara shouted as Pidgeot lifted off the ground and rushed forward in a streak of white. Pidgeot made impact much too fast for Riveing or Espeon to react. “Alright Espeon, grab it and bring it to the ground with psychic!” Riveing shouted after Espeon recovered from Pidgeot’s attack, which had bowled it over. The jewel set in Espeon’s forehead glowed and Pidgeot stopped dead, then came crashing to the ground. “Pidgeot! Use swift!” Geenara shouted and Pidgeot aimed a shower of little white stars at Espeon. The stars broke Espeon’s concentration, while doing minimal damage, but it did damage none the less. “Now, use steel wing!” He added and Pidgeot once again took off from the ground and dove at Espeon, with it’s wings glowing a metallic white. “Look out!” Riveing shouted, as Espeon put itself back together. Pidgeot made impact, sending Espeon rolling backward. “Just hang in a little longer!” Espeon stopped itself and slid on it’s paws. Pidgeot was distracted, flying backward. “Now, use psychic beam!” Riveing called out and the jewel implanted on Espeon’s head once again glowed. It shot out a bright white and purple beam that made a direct hit on Pidgeot. Geenara grunted, with rage. He obviously couldn’t stand losing to Riveing. “Pidgeot! Fly!” Geenara shouted and Pidgeot miraculously got up and took off, out Espeon’s range. The fact that Pidgeot was still standing caught Riveing and Espeon by surprise. They both watched the sky, waiting for Pidgeot to come down. Soon it did, at a tremendous speed. Riveing didn’t do anything until he finally gave an order. “Now, Espeon! FREEZE FRAME!” He yelled and Espeon’s jewel gave off a soft ping, while expanding a white diamond outline. Pidgeot stopped dead, frozen in time, inches from Espeon’s face. “Great, now get out of the way and let it hit the ground.” Riveing said and Espeon stepped out of Pidgeot’s way, then put time for it, back in motion, causing Pidgeot to ram straight into the floor. This time it was down for the count. Geenara quickly recalled Pidgeot and replaced it with Umbreon. “Quickly, use bite!” Geenara shouted and Umbreon leapt forward, biting Espeon across the neck, for an instant KO, since Espeon had already been hit by a couple attacks. Riveing recalled Espeon and sent out Feraligatr. “Feraligatr, use slash!” Riveing commanded and Feraligatr began running at Umbreon on all fours. “Umbreon, faint attack.” Geenara said calmly. Umbreon fell to the ground, as Feraligatr rose up and slashed where it’s head had once been. Before Feraligatr could recover, Umbreon sprang up, nailing Feraligatr in the chest. “Now use dark blast!” Geenara added and Umbreon sent out a black circular wave that hit Feraligatr and exploded into purple and black electricity and flames. Feraligatr was sent sliding back to Riveing. “C’mon, we can do it.” Riveing said and Feraligatr slowly got up and wiped a streak of blood from it’s face. “Now then, dynamic uppercut!” Riveing exclaimed and Feraligatr took off on all fours, running much faster than usual. Before Geenara could react, it rose up, with an uppercut to Umbreon’s stomach, launching it into the air. “Now use slash!” Riveing added and Feraligatr swung it’s hand down, scratching Umbreon with it’s sharp claws, sending it back to the ground. “Use dark blast again!” Geenara shouted and Umbreon sent out the familiar circle of black that exploded into the purple and black electricity. This time, Feraligatr stopped itself and quickly got up. Feraligatr can’t take another his like that… Riveing thought, looking at Feraligatr, who was breathing heavily. “Alright, let’s finish this, Feraligatr! Savage charge!” Riveing commanded and Feraligatr rushed toward Umbreon on all fours, with it’s mouth wide open. The two made contact and Feraligatr bit down on Umbreon, as hard as it could. “Umbreon, use one last dark blast!” Geenara yelled and within seconds a black and purple explosion of smoke, fire and electricity replaced Umbreon and Feraligatr. When it all cleared away, Feraligatr and Umbreon were nowhere to be seen, but there was a large dent in the lift. Tears filled Riveing’s eyes. “I guess you’re going to take my pokemon from me, too, aren’t you? That’s exactly what you want, isn’t it?” Riveing asked, glaring at Geenara. “My family’s already dying and now your taking the only friends I have left…YOU’RE A MONSTER!” He yelled, taking two pokeballs from his belt. “You have absolutely no idea how long and how hard I’d worked to save my family! I spent years training my pokemon and they were my best friends. Now you aren’t satisfied with my family--you want to kill my pokemon too…It’s the end of the line for you! I’M NOT LETTING YOU LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE!!!” Riveing yelled, throwing the pokeballs, releasing Ampharos and Mightyena. They could feel Riveing’s feelings and had noticed the loss of Feraligatr. His pokemon were just as ticked as Riveing was. Geenara fearfully sent out his next two pokemon: Venasaur and Gaburaisu--a pokemon Riveing didn’t recognize. |

Er...two things.... How hard is copying and pasting, and Garburaisu now has the stupid English name of "Garchomp." That said (though the second part is more of a technicallity, since they hadn't released the names at that point), wow. 0.o After reading Idiotic, well... yeah, I don't think I have to go farther than that. This is...very different, in a good way. |

Oops. Forgot to put in the last chapter. My bad. Can't get into the Crater Forums...good thing I type my stories on Works! Basically, by the time I finished Chapter 11, the English names came, so yeah. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 10 “So, you figured things out eh? I’M NOT LETTING YOU LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE!!!” Riveing yelled, throwing the pokeballs, releasing Charizard and Mightyena. They could feel Riveing’s feelings and had noticed the loss of Feraligatr. His pokemon were just as ticked as Riveing was. Geenara fearfully sent out his next two pokemon: Venasaur and Garchomp--a pokemon Riveing didn’t recognize. “Charizard, use flamethrower on Venasaur!” He commanded and Charizard breathed that all too familiar column of fire. “Garchomp! Dig! Venasaur, move and use vine whip!” Geenara commanded his pokemon. Garchomp somehow dug underneath the platform, while Venasaur side-stepped Charizard’s attack and sent out two long vines, which wrapped themselves around it. “No, Venasaur! Send it flying.” With that, Venasaur hurled Charizard high into the air. Only the flame on it’s tail could be seen in the darkness above. “Charizard! Use fireball!” Riveing shouted up to Charizard, then turned to Mightyena. “Use hyperbeam on the floor!” Mightyena jumped into the air and unleashed a devastating beam of yellow and orange light, at the floor of the lift. The attack hit Garchomp, just as it leapt through a hole it’d made in the lift. A bright ball of fire came sailing from the darkness above and hit the ground, beside Venasaur, creating a fiery explosion. Venasaur was still standing, somehow. Garchomp just barely managed to stagger to it’s feet. Lights began to glow, from the walls of the lift, while the air began to grow thin and cold. They were starting to get into the high altitudes. I have to end this soon or I might not be able to fight! Riveing thought, taking a deep breath. Charizard landed soon after, unable to fly, because of the high altitude. “Garchomp, use stone edge!” Geenara shouted and Garchomp’s blade-like appendages glowed white as it slammed the ground with it’s fist. A long, sharp slit of rock shot across the ground, headed straight for Charizard. Charizard being too tired to dodged, wound up flying into the wall, with a long scratch down it’s frontal area. “Now use dragon claw!” Garchomp sped toward Charizard and proceeded to scratch it, with it’s sharp claws. Despite it’s efforts, Charizard fainted, attempting to get up. Riveing replaced it with Dragonite, glancing at Charizard’s pokeball, as he put it back on his belt. “Venasaur, use giga-drain on Mightyena!” Geenara called to Venasaur, and it launched off the same vines. “Dodge it!” Riveing shot back and Mightyena leapt out of the way. “Now use strength! Dragonite, use dragon wrath on Garchomp!” He added and Mightyena assumed a ready stance, while Dragonite let off three separate streams of pure red fire. The streams of fire converged on each other and twisted together in one single column. The attack hit Garchomp, before it even saw the attack and sent it flying across the lift, while subsequently knocking it out. “Venasaur! Vine whip Mightyena!” Geenara shouted and Venasaur shot off it’s two vines once again, in an attempt to grab Mightyena. When the vines made contact, the unexpected happened: Mightyena grabbed hold of the vines, with it’s mouth and pulled Venasaur straight to it! Then it proceeded to head butt Venasaur a good distance away, knocking it out as well. This caught both Geenara and Riveing by surprise. “Unbelievable…” Muttered Geenara, sending out his last two pokemon: Salamence and Alakazam. Riveing caught sight of the cage his family was in, speeding down the nearby cable. It was empty. Riveing turned his attention back to the battle, as the cage blurred by. “Alakazam, use miracle eye on Mightyena.” Geenara shouted and Mightyena glowed, for a little less than a second. No apparent affect…yet. “Now, use confusion!” Alakazam’s silver spoons let off a low, constant hum as Mightyena was slowly lifted into the air and slammed into the wall several times. Miracle eye had disabled Mightyena’s immunity to psychic attacks. Riveing silently replaced Mightyena, with Sceptile. “Dragonite, use dragon claw!” Riveing shouted and Dragonite seemed to blur toward Salamence, with it’s right hand glowing white. “Sceptile, use chain blade!” Riveing added and Sceptile formed two leaves in the shape of ninja stars, throwing them, attached to a long chain of razor sharp leaves. “Salamence, dodge it and use dragon breath! Alakazam, stop Sceptile, with psychic!” Geenara barked the orders, like a mad man. Sceptile’s attack stopped cold and Alakazam used it’s psychic abilities, to pull Sceptile toward it, with force. Salamence moved out of Dragonite’s way, as it clawed the air, with a streak of white and shot off an orange ball of energy, which exploded on contact with Dragonite. “I knew you’d do that.” Riveing said, smiling. “Sceptile, use solar beam! Quick!” He shouted and Sceptile began to gather energy, from the lights. Geenara took notice. “No! Alakazam, cancel it and use psy-beam!” Geenara shouted and Alakazam let go of Sceptile, then launched a beam of white and purple energy. Sceptile stopped gathering solar energy and released a beam of intense yellow light. The two attacks clashed, for several seconds, but Alakazam’s psy-beam was overpowered, by Sceptile’s solar beam. The attack hit Alakazam directly in the head, knocking it out. “Dragonite! Use white flame!” Riveing shouted, with finality. Dragonite breathed in deep and let loose an inferno of pure white fire, that hit Salamence and spread over the two, in a dome. Both were unconscious, when the fire dissipated. Geenara recalled his last two pokemon, glaring at Riveing, who just as quickly recalled Dragonite and started toward him, with Sceptile following close. “It’s over, Geenara!” He shouted. Geenara put on an evil grin. “Or so you say…” Geenara said, quietly, as a portal appeared beside him. Riveing recalled Sceptile, as Geenara jumped through. Riveing pulled a gun out, from under his vest, as he jumped through, after him. The were both in a free fall in a void of nothing but air. “You don’t get it, do you?” He asked, staring at Riveing’s pistol. “Shut up and tell me what you did with my family!” He yelled. Geenara remained silent, an even more evil,--almost demonic grin spreading across his face. “…Who ever said I knew where they were? They’ve been dead for days.” With that, Geenara began to laugh, maniacally. Riveing, overcome by pure rage, pulled the trigger and put an end to Geenara once and for all. ~The End~ |
