PG to PG-13 ***** Plot: Far away, on the considerably large island of Uruzi, there was once a great civilization. It thrived for thousands upon thousands of years, until one day...one day the three volcanoes of the area all erupted at once. The three volcanoes had been dormant for nearly a millenium by then and had been completely blocked up. The pressure built until they exploded, taking roughly a fifth of the island with it. Now, strange creatures roam that land, now known as the Varda Wastes, this volcanic area is said to harbor a great treasure that could restore the Varda Wastes to their former state. However no one has been brave, or just plain fool enough to attempt recovering this treasure. ***** Setting: This is set on the tropical island of Uruzi--you can find a map here. ***** Concept: This RP is more or less about adventure and figuring things out, rather than fighting, so don't expect much fighting action. ***** Rules: Should I really have to put up any!? After all, everyone has the sense to read the ones that were posted by Nya...right? ***** Signup: Name: Age: Gender: Race: Personality: Appearance: Other: Sample(You may point to an RP on another site--just give the link and underline it): ***** My signup: Name: Seygarue Age: 252 Gender: Male Race: Dragon Personality: Willing to help those he believes have earned his assistance and respect, he does his best to stick to his moral code. Appearance: A mix between a gold western dragon and a standing dragon (it'd be easier to describe in a picture, but I'm a crappy artist--you know the dragons in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance?), he's full grown (55.3 feet), and has a scar that runs the length of his neck. His right wing was cut off during his service to humans as a battle dragon. Other: He owns a shop, near Bayfrontsei, where he sells uncommon and rare items. He can also shrink himself down to the size of a small dog or assume human form. Sample: Dawn of Flames ***** I'll start this RP, when I feel the time is right, so don't ask about an official date. |

((OOC: I believe this RP has waited long enough...)) I flipped through the pages of an old book, searching for something new to do. It'd been raining for the past week--a very unusual occurance. "Uncle Seygarue." My nephew called, from deeper in the cave. "Yes?" I called back, still searching through the book. "What do you do, when one of those raptidragons gets loose?" He asked. I closed the book and blinked. I closed my eyes and sighed, with a breath of fire. "Don't tell me you let them out of their cage..." I said in dismay. "Uuuuhh..." He stammered. I roared and you could hear several smaller roars, along with a cage door slamming shut. "I guess that works!" He called back, nervously. "Hello?" A small voice (your queue Anthezar), called into the cave. My nephew and I were way in the back, so it was far from obvious anyone or anything was here. "Guess nothing's here..." Had this person been out in the rain all week? Silence fell over the cave, like a sheet of cloth. Wet footsteps echoed through the cave tunnels. |

(ooc: Finally! XD) Rain, rain, and more rain. My hyper-active self was near the point of exploding. I yearned to fly, but the rain had made it near impossible. I had flown far from home about a week ago, but thanks to the rain, I found myself stranded. On impulse, I took off from the uninhabited cave, rain or no. I flew for hours, hoping I was going in the right direction. Rain soaked my wings, and I found it hard to find what direction I was going. I decreased my altitude so I was just skimming over the tops of the trees in the forest below. I squinted. Was that an elf? She wandered into a nearby cave. Just as I considered following her, the rain became too much for my wings and I plumeted to the ground, envying ducks' water resistance. |

((OOC: YAY!) Lura walked slowly into the dark cave. The rain didn't bother her. Water was something that was life to her, like the air she breathed. She walked futher down the cave. Suddenly, light came into her view. A large golden dragon sat at table, flipping through a book. "Oh! Forgive me. I didn't know that this was someone's home. Please let me introduce myself," said Lura, bowing in respect. She knew that dragons were people you dealt with respect. You should never anger a dragon. "I am Lura of the Water Elven Kingdom," said Lura. Then she continued, "I honor you, Great Golden Dragon," said Lura, bowing again in respect. |

"You needn't give such respect, Lura. You may call me--" My nephew burst out, from the back of the cave, with yet another question. "Erm...Uncle Seygarue, what should I do, if a wormhole suddenly appears and starts shooting out bombs?" He asked. I looked back, down the tunnel. "Bombs?" I asked in surprise. "Oh! Uh...never mind! See ya later, Uncle! Bye!" He shouted, blurring past. A few seconds later a loud explosion rang out, while dust, smoke, and some fire blew out of the tunnel. I winced and sighed. "So much for my library...no wonder his parents left him with me for the week." I thought out loud. I turned back to Lura. "I suppose now you already know that my name is Seygarue. What were you doing out in the rain, of all places?" I asked, closing the book. "You can get sick from that, you know." |

Lura smiled. "How do you do, Seygarue? Your Nephew, I take? He is active, is he not?" Seygarue roared with laughter. "Anyway, water doesn't bother me at all. Back home it would always rain. Rain brings life, you know," She looked down the hallway toward Seygarue's nephew. "I do hope he doesn't harm himself...what do you do if bombs start coming at you out of nowhere?" she asked. |

"You simply cast a barrier spells around them and let them explode in those. As for my nephew...he can be a bit...annoying at times. Otherwise, he's the equivalent of about five yellow dragons--much too active." I sighed. "Right now, I'm worried about the rest of my merchandise..." You could metal clanking in the backround, as things fell. "Who knows what he could do, with all the things I sell--" My nephew interrupted me, strutting into the room, wearing my armor. The polished gold and satin scraped on the ground, as he did. "Look, Uncle! I'm the Tin Man!" He exclaimed. I growled at him and he took off. "You'll have to polish that--I just did this morning!" I shouted at him. "...And stay away from the weapons chamber!" I added, then turned my attention back to Lura. "I'm terribly sorry, he's just...I have no idea how to describe how much of a pest he can be." I said, shaking my head. With a slight wipping sound, an arrow, with a map on it lodged itself into the table. "KINARAY!" I roared my nephew's name at my highest volume. The cave shook as I did. "I TOLD YOU TO KEEP OUT OF THE WEAPONS CHAMBER, YOU BONESTA! I'LL LOCK YOU IN THERE IF YOU DON'T GET OUT!" I roared, then started toward the weapons chamber, where I'd surely find him. |

((OOC: HAHAH!!! He sounds like the three year olds that I take care of on Sundays!!!)) Lura smiled and laughed. She ran after Seygarue. She stopped to see Kinaray playing with an ancient looking sword. The water within Lura stirred as she felt a sudden fear. Kinaray was going to hurt himself. She jumped over Seygarue and grabbed a sword from the side. She watched as Kinaray's sword was landing closer to his leg. In a swift movement, she block the sword from slicing open Kinaray's leg. She grabbed the sword out of Kinaray's hand. "Boy, you should listen to the counsel of your uncle. If you had listen you wouldn't have almost lost your leg," said Lura. The boy looked sad. Seygarue barreled over to Kinaray. He picked him up and tromped back to the back of the cave. By the time Lura followed, Kinaray was sitting nicely in a chair. Seygarue had tied him to the chair. Seygarue was muttering under his breath, speaking of many harsh punishments for the poor youth. |

(ooc: XD *falls out of chair laughing*) Exhausted, I staggered toward the cave as sounds of laughter rang out. Sounds like they're having a good time, I thought. I paused for a moment. But it also sounds like a dragon. I let the thought slide; I had more pressing concerns, like getting dry. Once inside the cave, I shook myself dry like a dog would. "'lo?" I called. "Anyone home?" I knew the answer but that didn't stop me from asking. |

"Nope. No one's home!" I called to the voice that was asking whether or not someone was here. "Uh...Uncle Seygarue, how long do I have to be tied up?" Kinaray's voice called. I turned in his direction. "You're a dragon, isn't it practical, to use your claws and cut the ropes?" I asked. "Oh yeah..." You could hear Kinaray start sawing at the rope, then a jolt of electricity. "OW!!!" He squeaked. "You put an electric chain in the rope! Meanie!" I chuckled. "Too bad--we're stuck with each other for another five days." I responded, taking the arrow out from the table, and looked at the map. It was a map of the Varda Wastes. |

Lura giggled. She was surprised that Seygarue hadn't killed the youth yet. She sat down on a chair. She watched Kinaray squirm in the ropes. She felt bad for him, but she knew it was for the best. She looked down back toward the entrance. Something was walking in the darkness. When light finally hit it Lura could see that it was griffin. It had beautiful white wings. It body was tan and it had a silver beak and claws. It was one of the most beautiful griffins she had ever seen. "Don't look now, Seygarue. But I think you are drawing a crowd," said Lura, laughing. The dragon harrumphed and continued about his work. |

"For the love of--" I muttered at the reply. I walked farther into the cave nearly all the way dry. The elf noticed me and said something to a large dragon, likely the one I had heard earlier. "Sorry to be a bother," I said, "but I feel a bit under the weather." At that moment, exhaution took over my body and I feel to the floor. |

Lura jumped out of her seat. "Oh, my gosh! The poor dear!" She ran to the creature's side and touched its feathers. "Seygarue! I need some buckets!" cried Lura. "What?" asked Seygarue, perplexed. "Hurry!" The dragon stood up out of his chair, grumbling under his breath about a disturbance and peace and quiet. He tramped down a tunnel and was soon back with a number of buckets. "Griffins shouldn't be in the rain. Although it seems as if this griffin is dry, they truly aren't. There are at least a couple of gallons of water beneath its feathers. I'll need to extract the water," said Lura. She closed her eyes and moved her hands over the creature. Power flowed to her fingertips as she spoke, "Durthrain!" Water began to flow out of the griffin's feather. Lura raise her hands and the water followed. Within a few minutes, all the water was in a number of buckets. The griffin opened its eyes. "There. You should be better now. You haven't a drop of water left on you. Also, take this," said Lura, pressing a lump of bread to its mouth. |

((OOC: I changed Seygarue's appearance--he looks more like a wyvern now)) And this is what happens, when it rains for a week... I sighed, with a burst of fire. The fire came from the fact I was stressed. Mostly because of Kinaray. He was practically destroying all my things. "Not to sound uncaring, but I have an order to fill. I'll be down this tunnel. Just...make yourself at home." I said, starting down one of the tunnels. It led to a chamber, filled with tools and metal bars. I sat down, at the metal table in the chamber and set to work, flattening a large metal bar, with a slab of diamond. The table top glowed red, as I breathed an endless stream of fire onto the metal. Maybe if I get lucky, Kinaray's parents will come early... I thought. I already lost a few million dregs' worth of items thanks to that pipsqueak. If I die young, it's his fault... I shaved a strip of metal off the bar. But then again, once I've outlived that little red nuisance, I'll of course start to feel sorry about my thoughts now...Man, why do I always have to be the nice guy? |

I flapped my wings several times and mumbled through the piece of bread. Noting the elf's look of confusion, I swallowed the bread whole (gagging slightly) and repeated myself. "Sorry 'bout that," I told her. "I just hate water. Can't stand the stuff." The elf seemed offended. "What?" I asked. "Was it something I said?" |

((OOC: What's a wyvern? Do you have a picture?))) "Water brings life. You would not be alive without it," said Lura. She stood up and walked to where Seygarue was working. "I was wondering if you need an assistant. I would like to help you in your work. I could even ummmmm.........babysit?" The last word came out hard. She didn't truly consider Kinaray a child, but he sure acted like it. "HEY!!! I don't need no babysitter," shouted Kinaray, struggling with the rope. Lura turned around and looked the boy squarely in the face. "Now look here, boy. You've caused enough trouble as it is. Once you act a little more mature then maybe you won't need a babysitter," said Lura. She turned to the griffin. "I'm Lura, by the way," |

((OOC: Think western dragon standing on two legs--that's how I look at a wyvern. Meh. You can look 'em up, but you might wind up with the one that has a scorpion's tail 0_o" I'll go scour the web for a an accurate picture...)) I turned to Kinaray. "Double negative, Boy. You just said that you do need a babysitter." I said and looked at Lura. "Don't trouble yourself with my business. Besides, these swords have to cool dry--any water will ruin the blades." I added, then went back to work on the metal bar, which was now taking shape--a sword for a dragonslayer I owed. The thought of dragon slayers never made me very happy. Stupid humans trying to kill me to prove they're tough--what'd I ever done to them? Within a few minutes, the entire sword was finished. I started on making my own. A normal sword--for a dragon of the Elrinden at least. I waved the falttening tool in the air. "Listen, Kinaray. When you get out of your phase, you'll have to deal with the real world. There're slayers and other people out there who'll want to either kill or do something to you. grow up and be a real dragon." I said, and went back to work on my sword. "I nearly got my neck split open, during my ealier days and my missing wing is what I get for helping humans. Now if you want to end up like me, keep being a bonesta, see if I care. I'd been too nice and trusting in the past." I sighed and stopped working on my sword. "I've been around to be one of the dragons that had to live through The Hundred Year war. Can you imagine trying to sleep at night, worrying about your head being cut off in the night? The world is a cruel place. People will stomp all over you, and chances are, no one's going to stop and help you up. Of course I was one of the people who'd probably help you up...But enough of what I have to say." As if on que, footsteps appeared. An angry looking, muscular, male human in armor stormed into the chamber. He glared at me, as I turned my head to face him. "I came for my sword." He said, angrily. "I had to walk through that torrent because a dragon ate my horse, so this sword better be worth the trouble." He picked up the sword I'd finished making and looked it over. "THIS ISN'T WHAT I ORDERED, YOU OVERSIZED NEWT!" He yelled. I closed my eyes and let my frustration seep out in a small trickle of flames. "This is the best you can manage? Unbelievable! And they say the Dragonese are exper blacksmiths. Pathetic!" I opened my eyes, to see the sword flying at me. I moved away, unable to get out of the chair at the instant. The sword grazed the my chest, as it spun past, the ultra-sharp blade leaving a gash across it. I roared in pain. "When I come back, you better get it right!" He snarled and stomped away, after proceeding to spit on the ground "You little curr..." I hissed and growled. "Urenbahm, de mansi al geh vantres--a never ending curse on you, human!" I roared. The man turned. "We'll see about that..." He said, still walking. "I'll believe it when I see it." I cast a glare of intense hate. "You'll regret those words..." I muttered. Once I was sure the man was gone I stomped off, to bandage the wound the sword left. "Hmph...and I actually let humans do this to me..." |

Lura dipped her hand into one of the buckets and walked over to Seygarue. She placed her hand over the wound. "Nurthra caneran," said Lura softly. The water on her hand glowed and fell over the wound. The water spend to every corner of the wound. Then the water dissappeared and all that remained was unbroken flesh. "You cannot deny that I would be useful," said Lura, as Seygarue stared at the place where the wound had once been. "Also, my father was considered the greatest blacksmith in our kingdom. I've learned the art. The metals can be made into a great sword with or without water." |
