Okay, I lied. This is actually kind of humorous, once it gets past the prologue. Whatever...I lost my "darkness glands" when I broke the barrier to adolescence...
-------------------
Prologue: The Mystery Magnum

1“As you all know, we are opposed by two major forces; Team Rocket is the first, the second are trainers, such as Ash Ketchum and many others. Team Rocket is the competition that we face, regularly.”

2“We must try other things. Our current plans are always foiled by one or the other. We have to be bold.”

1“Hmm…it seems so…”

3“What plans? There’ve never been any plans for us. We just get sent to do our job and we do it, deciding our own plans.”

2“Wha--You aren’t supposed to be here! You can’t just waltz on into Geenara’s office, like this!”

3“…I just did…but it’s the truth. We won’t succeed like this.”

1“What’s the meaning of this? You go do what you’re told…leave my office.”

3“…no…”

1“Do not defy me…”

2“Take your leave at once!”

3“…”

2”I’ll handle this…”

3”I’m so scared…”

1”Step down, Commander…I’ll deal with him personally.”

3”…”

1”Who do you think you are?”

3”…”

1”Answer me.”

3”…”

1”Very well, then…Scyther…teach this fool his mistake.”

3 *small gasp*” …GAAAAHH!”

1"Save yourself and show your loyalty...I have an assignment for you."
------------------------------
kind of a short prologue huh? The actual chapters are longer. Stay tuned for them.

(Original pokemon that appear in this story are copywrited by Simon Hills, unless otherwise designated.)

I have a picture of Cometris in my art thread (it’s a fire type).

Day 1

I rolled a small orb out into the aisle and watched as the guard ran over and picked it up, while giving it a suspicious look. It zapped him until he lost consciousness. “Gimme some light, here, Cometris.” I whispered and pressed the button on one of my pokeballs. Cometris came out, in a red arc of energy and it’s flaming body lit the area.
“Alright, Alos, it should be in the aisle to your left.” Vanessa said, through the single earbud I had in my left ear. I walked down the aisle and looked at the bookshelves, until I came across a red, leather bound book. “There it is!” She exclaimed. I knelt down and took it from the shelf, then opened it. An alarm went off.
“Code red! An alarm went off--prepare escape plan C!” I said, as I stood up and closed the book. The wall on the end of the aisle broke out, with Vanessa standing in the hole, with her machamp beside her. She recalled it and ran off. I followed her through the library and we both jumped into a car. She was old enough to drive. I wasn’t. Instead of actually driving the car, she drove it off a cliff, as the hard-top of the convertible closed and the car turned into a speedboat. I flipped the autopilot switch and she started putting on some makeup. She finished and took the book from me, then opened it. She flipped through the pages and stopped on one, with a big toothy serpent, drawn with quite a bit of detail.
“That’s Darugo.” She said, with her finger on the page.
“Yikes.” I said, looking at the picture.
“You said it. There’s supposed to be another pokemon here, that’s in the same area…” She flipped through the pages, “Aha! This one’s Hireiga.” She said, stopping at the page. The pokemon looked like a big, red, western dragon. “They’re both legendaries, dragon types to boot. But they aren’t our priority in Venissluice. Geenara’s looking for a specific jewel. Chances are--” My scar acted up. The on Geenara’s scyther gave me. It ran all down my middle section, along with a second, near my throat. Vanessa gave me a pain killer. I took the strip of dried meds. It beat swallowing a pill. The soon died away.
“Thanks.” I said, looking at her. “So what were you saying?” I asked.
“They’re both, legendaries. All we need is the crystal in their sanctuary. But we get a bonus if we capture them. We probably shouldn’t take our chances, though.” She said. “Apparently, there’d been a group of strange pokemon, about a thousand years ago. The pokemon were almost ten times their normal size. That’s when Darugo and Hireiga came along and fought ‘em all off.” She added. “The power of those pokemon had been locked away, inside a crystal. Geenara must want it to power some sort of device…that freak.” She finished, thinking about how the two scars I had, would always act up, every once in awhile. “ We hit Venissluice tomorrow, not to mention we’ve got an entire month to get that crystal, so we can goof off, if we want.” She added, cheerily. “I’m so gonna go shopping!” She chimed. That was such a stereotypical phrase, it made me sick. I took the book back and flipped through it. There were things on all sorts of legendary pokemon I’d never even heard of. The rest of the night didn’t have much interesting about it. You know, getouttauniformgetintoyourPJsgotobedwakeuptakeoffPJsputonuniform. Only I had to wait outside our room’s bathroom, for about an hour, in my PJs, because Vanessa was hogging the shower…probably getting ready for Venissluice.
“You know, I heard there’s plenty of perfume in Venissluice.” I said through the door. The constant spritzing and other noises came to an abrupt stop. Vanessa plowed through the door, like a charging rhyhorn, leaving the bathroom to me. I swear, how many stereotypes would I find in my partner? In the base, morning didn’t come until about nine A.M., so tomorrow wasn’t here, for us, yet.

-I’m not a really good artist, so people, I’d really appreciate the help, if you’d help me come up with (and get pictures of) original pokemon--credit will obviously be given.-

Day 2: Wail-comb toe vinny-slooss!
I clung to the dashboard of the car, as it shot over the water, toward Venissluice.
Vanessa was obviously anxious to get there--probably wanted to try on all that perfume…or get her toes nibbled off by some demented cannibal mime. I hoped it was the latter. She yammered on and on about what she’d do. Like I cared? I was just happy, because I’d just found out that if I take one of those painkiller strips, my scar won’t act up, the entire day. Yayness. Okay, maybe it was drug abuse, but who cares? In a few minutes, we passed into the channels of Venissluice…which were blocked off. “What do you mean, we can’t go through!?” Vanessa screamed at one of the police, who were near the aquatic sawhorses.

“There’s a race going on, you can’t get through, until it’s over ma’am.” The officer said. We were both wearing our uniforms in plain sight. “But aren’t those rather strange outfits you two are wearing?” He asked, looking at me. Our car/boat was now a convertible.

“Our company’s on important business. It’s the uniform.” I said, playing it cool.

“Look, you let us through, or things are gonna get ugly!” Vanessa shouted at the officer, holding a pokeball. I pulled her into her seat.

“Relax, there’s plenty of makeup for you to try on.” I said to her. She looked at me.

“You sure?” She asked, soberly. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“Positive.” I said, sounding nice. I hadn’t done that in a while. “We’ll just wait a few minutes.” I said. She burst into tears.

“I want my perfume now!” She yelled and ran clear across the water, to a sidewalk…then kept running. She was really motivated to get some perfume…how stereotypical. With a sigh, I waited until the police had stopped blocking the channel and the water chariots had gone by, then moved into the drivers seat. The boat was incredibly easy to drive--that meant I could get around easily. At least I didn’t need to have a license to drive a boat. I docked near a hotel and set up a room, then went looking for my partner. On the way, I got some non-uniform clothes. I stopped at every makeup-related store I could find, but couldn’t find her. Then I went to the library. There she was, in the “non-fiction” area. I’d picked up a few fantasy novels, to check out. We had about a month to pull this mission, so we weren’t in a real hurry.

“I finally found you.” I said to her. She looked up at me, from hunched over a book.

“Oh, hi.” She said and smiled. “I found rose and lilac scents!” She exclaimed, slamming the book she was holding, closed.

“yeah, that’s great! Well, let’s just go to the hotel and decide what we’ll do for the rest of the month!” I said, with fake enthusiasm, as I led her back to the boat. “I’ll drive.” I said, hopping into the driver’s seat. If Vanessa drove…chances were, she’d be too busy trying on all the different perfume she’d bought and crash into something. “Alright, what’d you find out?” I asked, not taking my eyes off the waterway.

“Well…” She said, looking around. “Apparently, there’s a shrine, that’s been hidden in the city. Then, there’s a passage, leading from the shrine, to Darugo’s lair…which is where our objective is. Not only that, there’s more than one set of Latias and Latios--the second couple are here as well.” She said.

“So, Latias and Latios could be anywhere in Venissluice? And there are other couples of them, in different cities?” I asked.

Exactly.” Vanessa said, smiling. “So, if we search this place, with a ten-prong-comb, chances are, we’ll net them too.” She added, putting her feet on the dashboard.

“Well, we’d best stick to our main objective. That’s the main reason members of Team Rocket have for failing; they try to accomplish too many secondary objectives.” I said, docking at the hotel. “We’d best focus on our main objective.” I added, climbing onto the dock. “So let’s get some--” Someone cut me off. He had one of those obnoxious clown voices, too.

“Ice cream?” The weirdo in the tropica-shirt asked. “After all, you haven’t lived until you’ve had some Barkin’-Taillows ice cream!” He exclaimed, pushing us both along the walkway…were people in Venissluice always so…physical?

“Uh--but we’re lactose-intolerant!” Vanessa answered. That was a lie, but I wouldn’t point it out. I didn’t want to be forced into eating ice cream, by some dementoid in a tropica-shirt.

“Yeah! We swell up like balloons!” I added, my feet sliding along the ground.

“Then you can try some Barkin’-Taillows frozen yogurt!” He replied, still pushing us.

“Ah--but we don’t like yogurt! We’re allergic!” I exclaimed in response.

“Well, that’s just super! We’re looking for people to test our new non-dairy substitute for ice cream and frozen yogurt!” The dementoid responded. Uh-huh…right. Not happening. We both ran off and gave that guy the slip, pretty easily…but he ran fast for his size. We found ourselves in a café.

“Halo, wail-comb do leh Lady-ahss awnd Lady-ohss cough-eh--hut izz yo-err orrer?” The guy at the counter asked. Talk about a strong accent. We quickly beat it out of there. Eventually, we managed our way back to our hotel room and just stayed there, the entire day. Besides, by now, it’d come close to sunset.
