So Obama, who was not even in national politics until less than a decade ago, promotes reduction in nuclear weapons (which by the way, he could immediately start doing unilaterally - so far as US weapons go - and he has not) and he should get a peace prize? What about people who have been pushing for much longer than him for a reduction in nuclear arms? What about people that have been successful at peace efforts? The last time I checked, people shouldn't get awarded for things they support, they should get awarded for things they do - and, to be honest, Obama has not yet DONE much of anything. He has made no concrete successes. Furthermore, yeah, if Obama tried to greatly reduce the US military, he probably would be run out of office - but last time I checked Alfred Noble did not say that the Noble Peace Prize should be awarded to "whomever does the most to stay in office". He said it should be awarded to the person doing the most for peace, including the reduction and/or abolition of standing armies. I mean, there are people who ACTUALLY RISKED FREEDOM AND LIFE for their causes, such as a certain Chinese dissident who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize this year and did not get it - those are the people who deserve a Noble Peace Prize, not the people who do things just because they are politically expedient. |

Nominations for this years Nobel Peace Prize closed sometime in February. Effectivly he was in office 11 days before being nominated. I believe this award has made a mockery of the Nobel Peace Prize, however I lost my respect for it when Al Gore won in 2007 so really I don't give a damn anymore. |

Damn it, I lost the game. @Ares: Personally, I didn't mind Bush, and I think his public stupidity was just a masquerade. Cue the laughing (from Cow mostly) |

Shooting a "missile" at the moon is scientific, not militaristic...
