While I disagree with the Neo-Nazi's message, people fail to realize this is tyranny of the majority at work.

Ya, quite frankly the spitting and aggressive nature of the counter-protesters is disappointing, it only gains sympathy for the Neo-Nazi movement anyway.

NOTHING could gain sympathy for the Neo-Nazi movement.

Lets remember this

First, I would like to say I am totally opposed to EVERYTHING that Nazis stand for.

Second, "counterprotesters who snatched and tore up swastika-covered flags and chanted "Nazis go home." This is wrong. These counterprotestors used the fact that they had 192 more people than the Nazis to allow themselves to go unchallenged in taking the property of the Nazis and destroying it. It is wrong to destroy people's property regardless of their political positions. These people should be booed by society.

Third, "Counterprotesters spit on the Neo-Nazi's Suzuki and Hyundai cars as they drove away." This is sick and wrong. All people deserve basic human respect (not necessarily respect of the people, but rather showing basic respect).

Property rights are not sacred to the point where a swastika banner can't be ripped by an opponent of Nazism.

Jon Testmaker = nazi sympathizer, or at the very least, one of those jerkwads who in WWII would have said 'Not our problem'

A saying my father ingrained into me when I was very young. "I dissaprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".

A foundation of liberal democratic thought, and ironically one of its biggenst paradoxes. We must be tolerent of the intolerent, however that is the price we must pay for freedom.

You say that property rights do not extend to swastikas and other racist things. However, on what do you claim this? You believe (as I do) that Nazis believe horrible things, and that racism is a great evil. However, should their political opinions result in their property rights being suspended? If so, how can you say that you have rights to property that advocates, say, single payer health care (assuming you support it, if not, just consider it an example) which I strongly oppose? Do I have a right to burn a book supporting single payer health care? If it is the fact that it is a swastika that gives someone the right to destroy it, do I have the right to go into a museum and destroy WWII-era artifacts that have swastikas on them, even though the museum wouldn't be advocating Nazism?

Furthermore, why would you think I am a Nazi sympathizer. I am not. I oppose racism, I oppose genocide, and I do not think being Caucasian has anything special associated with it. As well, I am not sure where I stand on WWII (this is only because the German government was conducting the mass extermination of various groups of people based on things such as race and religion). However, even if I was firmly opposed to us having entered WWII, how would that make me a sympathizer of the Nazis? Couldn't I simply believe that war is something to be avoided at all costs if at all possible? Suppose the US were to launch an invasion of North Korea today, would anyone who opposed it be against it only because they support the goals of the North Korean government?
