I don't remember anyone saying that it was "wrong" for this poster to be created.

That is the implication that I have gathered from the intial statement and the replies in this topic. Although perhaps wrong was the incorrect word to use in my statement.

A better rephrasing of my statement would, perhaps, be:
Why is it this anti-Obama poster, which utalises popular culture reference as well as calling Obama a socialists, which if he is not he most definately leans towards, is stupid and not make sense?

I do thank you Ares for bringing this miscommunication to my attention.

Ahh, that makes much more sense to me now, thanks. ^_^

My main issue with the Obama/Joker poster is the fact that the Joker was a promoter of chaos and anarchy, which does not seem to be what Obama is trying to do. I mean, if he is a socialist then he is trying to garner more government control, is he not? That seems to be contradictory to the anti-authority position the Joker has.

Now, I suppose one could also say that the Joker was "destroying society", which could be how some people see Obama. I mean, he is reforming American society, which obviously doesn't sit well with people. However, I still don't think that that is enough reason to make this poster make more sense.

I don't know, I suppose I just don't understand the message that this poster is trying to convey, it just seems like someone's attempt at humour.

I, personally, saw it as an attempt to reference pop culture. If you didn't have the reference to socialism at the bottom, though, I would not understand it at all.

Also may I pose a question. Why is it wrong for one anti-Obama poster to be created, but, from what you have implied, it is perfectly acceptable to create posters comparing George Bush to Hitler/Satan/Huissen?

Because my original point was that that poster didn't make one bit of sense at all (I mean, the Joker was obviously Sid Vicious/Johnny Rotten on angst-fueled steroids), whereas Bush IS Lil' Hitler. ;) :P

The comparisons that Bush is Hitler both reveals a huge lack of historical knowledge and an utter devaluation of Hitler's evilness.
