I'm getting into the characters gradually. Right now, I'm focusing on First Squad. And like I said in the Bios, the officers are pretty detatched form the noncoms. After all, they don't use the same bars (E-Club and O-Club) :P

Also: For every 40k chapter, I plan on doing 2 or 3 Marine chapters. Reasons:

1. 40k has three different settings, and therefore I must rethink where I left off from last time. Marines has one setting, one plot, and therefore is easier to think about.

2. I'm trying to kind of "catch up" to 40k.

  • pfffft. you just don't like me, admit it. :[ I'm so offended, I don't know what I shall do.

:homestar: errr, okay, maybe I'm not that melodramatic, seeing as how I quite enjoy the interactions of first squad more than I could every enjoy silly officers.

Other than what Cow pointed out, and is now fixed, I'm going to have to compliment you on the diction you're using. Its very believable. I can't wait to see the introduction of the rest of the characters, and I really enjoy reading both of your stories.

Once we hit the planet and start getting into the action, I'm gonna start using viewpoints

The structure I have laid out so far in that respect:

Ryan and RL: Higher-Up relations. Basically controlling the action from the planet's capital city

Ares: Field Command of the platoon

Cow: Senior-NCO-ing between Ares and Ryan (will be with Ryan in the capital)

Wraith: "Veteran's" combat viewpoint. Sticks with First Squad mostly but will drop out from Viewpoint later on

Either Deadhead, Selucis, or Json: Third Squad's Perspective

Erikson: The "Rookie's" combat perspective; the "Focus Character" of Compiliation I

Ooh, pick me pick me pick me!!! :P
...unless of course, you don't want to get into too many technical terms... I tend to always think about things in terms of physics, math, optimization, etc.. :P

Ugh...Physics...Biggest load of garbage I've ever been 'honored' to take in school <_< I dunno the squads and all that details, but if Deadhead starts talking science near me I should hafve permission to get angry and go into smash mode

Well, new chap is up. The big battle WILL begin next time, mark my words. This was kind of an "intro to radio chatter/language" chapter.

A few notes:

1. Yay, the first real fight! ^_^ From here on out until the end, this compiliation will be mostly action. (At least I hope)

2. I'd like someone to move this to the RPing board.

3. A short explanation on Marine Radio Chatter:

Delta, if you didn't figure it out, is the phonetic designation for the company used to identify the unit.

One represents first platoon for the Marines. The first number is typically used to identify the a specific component (ie platoon) in a larger unit.

The second number is used in a variety of ways, mostly specific depending on the number:

Six is the all-purpose designation for the Commanding Officer of a unit. For example, Ares is "Delta One-Six" because he is the CO of First Platoon, Delta Company.

Five signifies either the Executive Officer or Senior NCO in a unit. Wraith is "Delta One-Five" because he is the platoon sergeant of First Platoon, Delta Company.

One, Two, and Three are used in First Platoon to identify squad leaders. Alex is "Delta One-One," for first squad, Lee is "Delta One-Two," and Ben is "Delta One-Three"

Lastly, for even smaller components of units (ie fire teams or joint commanders in this), another phonetic designation is used. For the latter, Captain Molomer of the VPA is "Victor Five-Six Alpha" because he is the joint CO (Alpha) of Fifth (Echo) Company, Victor Detatchment. Lundy would be designated "Delta One-One Alpha" because he is the First Fire Team Leader of First Squad in First Platoon, Delta Company.

I think we can all agree, if Lundy is to die its either with 5 beautiful women on top of him or in a blaze of glory saving the life of wraith...again.....I am kinda pushing for the former.

Lol. I've already planned a few storyline deaths. However, I assure you, none will happen in Compiliation I.

Also: Someone PLEASE move this to the RPing Board. God, I wish I had those powers back
