"Guns, Germs, Ans Steel" Jared Diamond

ARRRRGH! I had to read that last summer for school. Interesting analysis, but extremely tough read. However, the toughest book I have (n)ever read (I started but couldn't finish) was The Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien. Tolkien is harder to read than Shakespeare.

Otherwise, I'm just screwin' around with my readings right now. I'm re-reading my military books, like Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden and Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy. Two of my favorite reads.

If you like Clancy, check out Andy McNab.

Unlike Clancy, who is a middle-aged white guy who only wishes he did the stuff he writes about, McNab actually did do the stuff he writes about.

Yeah, I read Bravo Two-Zero a few months ago. That was great, too. It really gives insight to life in captivity, in nations that don't follow the Conventions.

I read Turtledove's Great War series. I absolutlely loved it. I finished the last book about a couple days ago. Because of that book, I thank God that the Confederacy didn't win or force a stalemate. I could not imagine an America racked by such destruction like WW1 :(

Read Roughneck Nine-One, you'd like it, and it may provide some inspiration for your Backstab story.

Been reading a book called Alas, Babylon. It is an awesome read, especially if you like nukes, survival, and cold war setting.
