"I've met Blex, only briefly but I very seriously doubt that he would sanction the murder of a woman and her child, even if it was to punish someone who he thought had betrayed the cause. That said, I can't vouch for the other members of Command to any useful degree but I doubt they would either, not with that many witnesses anyway, it'd be too hard for them to control the flow of information. Karl hung his head slightly as he spoke, his tone still low and harsh and only barely concealing his overflowing anger. After a moment he lifted his head again and spoke in a more authoritative but lighter tone, "Like I said get that to Jim, I want to know everything about this Montagory asshole in an hour, we should be able to contact command with the communications set up this old clunker has." Looking away, his gaze distant, he started planning his next move. |

Zane "I understand." was Zane's only response, as it was the only thing he could think to say. He left the briefing room, leaving Karl alone. Presumably he'd go back to the bridge to retake command....or throw chairs around the room to let off some steam. Either one seemed likely from the look of his face. Zane wandered the ship and couldn't help but marvel at the old ship. Even during the war, a Big Tray class was considered a relic with it's primary shell based weapon and inability to house mobile suits. Even this one had them crudely strapped to the hull. After asking around and doing his own guess work, Zane found Jim at Eddy's room with Eddy and Chelsea. Jim was near the entrence of the room, and was the closest one to him, which made it much easier to grab his attention. Without knocking, he tapped his superior officer on the shoulder. "I have some important information Karl wants me to show you. It's from the battle after the Small Platter made it's escape." |

Jim had been about to reply to Sam when Zane showed up. "All right Doberman, follow me to my office. Eddy, Sam." Jim said, nodding to the two of them and leading the way to his stateroom. Once they were both inside, Jim dogged the hatch and looked at Zane. "What's the bossman want me to see?" Jim asked. |

Zane "You'll see. Karl wants you to gather all the information you can on the star of the film, and find out if he is a member of the AEUG, what his connections are, and any possible associates etcetera. Pretty much the basics for tracking down someone we plan on putting a bullet in their head." Zane said as he handed Jim the flashdrive so he could plug it into a computer. |

Jim took the flash drive from Zane and plugged it into his terminal, calling up the video file. Jim watched as a man claiming to be an AEUG Lieutenant used civilians as a shield. Yes, Exception Clause C, Article IV of the Antarctic Treaty does permit extraordinary measures to preserve one's Command in time of war, but there's no way this is covered. Innocent civilians are not fair game during wartime Jim felt his face twist in anger at the actions of this 'Lieutenant Montgomery'. "I can see why... I'll find this bastard, and he will hang for this" Jim said, swearing to himself that this mutt would pay. |

Zane Zane saw Jim's face grow serious and enraged. While furiously pissed off himself, Zane couldn't help but wonder if Jim's reaction was due to the fact that someone committed a crime, or a personal reaction since he knew the guy who was seemingly destroyed in a warehouse with his family. Coldly, Zane said, "Shane, Sean's son, is still aboard this ship. This Montagory used a decoy, but that was his wife and daughter, both of whom were on this ship with this scum when we were at Hawaii. There's no doubt he has some connection with the AEUG, and in the memory of Sean, and for the sake of his last reaming child, I'll find him and anyone who helped him pull it off, and make sure they get what's coming to them." After giving his vow of revenge and giving Jim a starting point, Zane unlocked the room and left, leaving the flash drive behind so Jim could use it as a reference. |

Jim let Zane go without paying much attention. He was too furious that an AEUG officer had sanctioned the use of hostages as a shield, which ran contradictory to everything that a soldier stood for. He was methodically searching every database he had access to for information on the son of a bitch. Jim had considered getting Ambrose involved, but didn't want to divert time away from the 'special' project he'd turned Ambrose loose on. Besides, you don't have to be a fancy computer genius to use a search engine, then browse for relevant data. Now, if I find anything encrypted, then I'll talk to Ambrose he mused as he continued searching. |

(Closing thread and jumping up to space.) The days passed uneventfully as the 7th Lunar Detachment made their way across the North American Midwest towards Boston, where their promised ride back into space awaited them. A week after departing S-12, the Small Platter finally came to a rest a mile west of Heywood Reservoir. Since the land battleship was far too large to bring into the city without bringing undue attention and causing a great amount of damage to the residential areas, Karl had decided to offload the pilots and personnel who were bound for space in a trio of federation built 6x6 cargo trucks. Entrusting the ships compliment of suits to Karaba, the group traveled briefly northward on I-190 the small group of trucks quickly turned eastward onto MA-2, almost two hours later the AEUG came to a stop on a dock situated in Bostons Inner harbor, just south of General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, where there was a hydrofoil ferry chartered and waiting for them. An hour later the group stepped onto the floating launch platform, moored just east of the eastern most island in the Boston Harbor Islands State Park, that housed their ticket home, a Temptation class civilian space shuttle, rigged for a vertical launch. It took nearly a full day for the platform to be towed out to its designated launch point, well away from the prying eyes of civilians and far enough away to be safe. It was only when the mother ship contacted AEUG command to find out what orbit they should program the launch for that Karl and the 7th found out about how badly the resistance had actually been beaten in the last two weeks. Blex was dead, assassinated by the Titans and Von Braun, the AEUG's only real refuge besides Granada, had fallen to the Titans' Operation Apollo. Vowing revenge for their leaders death and the deaths of all those lost in the recent battles, Karl and the crew quickly pushed up the launch time and were in orbit shortly there after. |
