Because I never said the cave was completely caved in, and just alot of rocks were in the way preventing take off. Red was suppose to use the Big Trays cannons to blow a hole through prior to leaving, so if he didn't do that, then Jim basically sacrificed the Karaba forces to save his own ass. :D |

“Fall back!” Jurik shouted as he moved his marasai behind Alexander’s HiZack custom. “What are you doing?” Alexander fumed, only to be taken aback by the wave of light that crashed down around him. His suit’s left arm dropped to the damaged tarmac. The green behemoth pursued its retreating commander. Jurik’s suit took cover behind a large column of fallen rock. Alexander’s eyes darted back and forth searching for anything that he could fit his suit behind. He was pushed against his harness as a beam dissipated into his machine’s right pauldron. Adrenaline shot through his veins. He couldn’t get out of the cave in time. There was nowhere to… The battered wreckage of the rebel suits lay close together. The Hizack’s thrusters kicked in and the 60-ton monster leapt into the air and over the carnage. Alexander dropped the suit on its fanny behind destroyed GM IIs. The Hizack custom leaned back and rolled over into a prone firing position. Jurik raised an eyebrow. The Zeon pilot was good, better than him anyway. He turned his attention back towards the enemy. Leaning around the stone shield, the marasai fired at the oncoming enemy while Alexander carefully targeted an azuza mobile suit. (ten beams from Jurik for a couple Karaba dudes, 1 x shot from alexander @ azuza mobile suit ) Mod Edit: No Targeting Plot dependent ships w/o permission. Reaching the hangar entrance Ennis had the Gaplant put its back to the outside of the cave and lean around the corner into the hangar, leading with its remaining binder. "Hang in there, Berta! Everybody get in here and lend our boys some support, we've still got eight hostiles to deal with! Enemy mobile suits are our main priority. And watch their ship, those guns could open up at any moment," he transmitted over the squadron channel. Nailing the Azura would be nice . . . but in modern warfare the mobile suit ruled, and ships just weren't as important as they were in space where even oxygen was a resource that needed to be managed. With Karl, Jim, and the others apparently leaving the Azura behind these GM IIs were all that the craft had for defenders. Take them out and catching the flying carrier would be easy. Aiming his binder to give covering fire to the embattled Anderson, Ennis fired two shots towards a GM II that was near the young Hizack pilot. (Two shots for an Azura GM covering Anderson) |

“Y’know, you’d think they would make their surrender a viable option right about now,” Erol bleated after being fooled into a lull upon watching the Small Platter depart from the battlefield. The appearance of Dodai Kai riding GMs threw him almost immediately back into cover. “Gotta get back in the sky,” he told himself. Swinging the Asshimar around from cover, Erol opened fire on the closest GM with two shots but aimed for its sub-flight craft rather than the mobile suit itself. “That’s my place,” thuster dashing his machine across the tarmac towards the cave. “Can’t have garbage like these pretending they can fly,” opening two more shots on the same GM while searching for open space to get back in the air. Making a break for it the Asshimar made a break for it by leaping into the air then transforming into its flying saucer-like mobile armor mode. It flew almost straight upwards before coming flipping onto its back and then divebombing upon the airborne GM. [Two shots at Azura GM,. Pause/run, then two more shots at it. Pause/transform fly into the air then nosedive with one shot from above.] |

Disclaimer: The party making this post is not responsible for any seizures, heart attacks, vomiting, or O'Regan get horny. Read further at your own discretion. The Long Post: Episode I The Phantom Menace A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away... I had a computer that had worked perfectly for two long and wonderful years. Then the evil hand of fate decided to start bitch slapping me in the face frequently. My computer is now being repaired in I guess Japan, and thus it wont be repaired for roughly 4 more weeks. The second hand of fate was more of a punch when I was in a vehicle accident two weeks ago. Aside from that there have only been several other smaller problems but those were primarily the big two that has taken me out of commission. And now the battle from where I remember it... Orrick: As Orrick walked into the crew quarters and found that it was relatively calm and empty, especially since it was during a battle. He walked cautiously down the empty and surprisingly empty halls. He heard talking coming from around the corner at the end of the hall. "That Titan escaped from his cell with that blast to the side of the ship. I doubt he's made it here, but keep sharp none the less." Deciding to take cover he jumped into the first room on the right. After entering it turned out it was apparently the commander's room, so namely Karl's, or at least use to be his. It was empty, cleared out, there was nothing but an empty cardboard box, the fixtures, and a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana. "I don't smoke, but if I get injured it might help me, and this box, hmm..." He carefully looked out the door to see where the two soldiers that were pursuing him. As far as he could tell they were both still down the hall. So he decided to carefully move down into the next room. "Hey you can't even let me check this room by myself... You need to....." Orrick didn't let the man finish, let alone turn around as he quickly choked the man and left him on the floor in front of him. Apparently, the entire crew of the Azuza was getting ready to leave it behind. "I need to get out of here now!" Just as he was about to leave the room something caught his eye. It was a small golden locket. It seemed all too familiar to him like he was seeing it through a dream. Hesitantly, he opened it and saw the picture of his family there. (This is thanks to Redshirt pulling out the old photo earlier before the fight.) "Samantha..." He quickly closed it and stashed it in his pocket. He quickly and quietly walked out of the room. "Damn it Dan, you were suppose to check in by now, if you're sleeping in one of these rooms I'm gonna kill you myself." Orrick panicked, "Damn it, no cover and the enemy is coming. I have my weapon, but if I fire it everyone will know where I am. Not good..." He turned his head and saw the box. The guard turned the corner and walked down the corridor. "Well, I thought those AEUG guys had got all of their stuff out of here before the battle began." He read the label, "CMDR Karl Tirpitz. AEUG. Probably not the best to touch this. I'll make a note that we need to get this to him if we survive this attack." The guard turned and walked a bit further away from the box, after Orrick determined it was safe he lifted it up and made a break to leave the crew's quarters. He referenced the layout of the ship, "Ok, it looks just like any other Garuda class. I need to continue down this corridor and then turn right. The service elevator should still be operational as long as there's still power." As Orrick neared his destination he heard some more guard chatter. He hid in a narrow shadowed, crevasse. "It looks like the prisoner has moved out of the crew's quarters, he took Dan out in the process. We don't know where he's headed so the two of us will go to the hangar since he will most likely escape. You two head down there and see if you can cut him off anywhere." "Yes sir!" The four guards split up and two of them ran down the hall right past him. He held his breathe tight as he happily saw them run past him without noticing him. The other two had gone to the hangar and had left a nice empty path to the service elevator. He ran out of the crew's quarters and towards the hangar. "If there is a god, please let there be a suit out here for me." The hangar door hissed open as Orrick became witness to one hell of a mess. The few mechanics were scurrying around scared half to death. As he looked around he saw a banged up green mobile suit that was missing it's left arm. Deciding to take advantage of this situation, he hastily made way towards the green mobile suit. "Holy shit! That's the prisoner shoot him!" "Damn it!" He expressed his anger as he was forced to jump behind several crates. Carefully taking out the handgun he started to fire back shots in the general direction of the soldiers firing at him. "This is getting real old!" He stuck his head out again and shot and killed the one guard. "My last clip...Better make it count." Orrick shot at a fuel tank and caused the other solider to be engulfed in flame. Orrick made a b-line for the machine. He managed to close the hatch of the mangled mobile suit. The power luckily came on, "Well, there's some luck right. Let's ee if it holds out now." Orrick steadied the machine as it rose to it's feet. "I can't change this IFF code. I guess I'll have to make do. " The machine's thrusters ignited as he prepared to take off. "Heh, I never thought I'd be doing this, but it's better than nothing. Orrick Alexander, taking off in whatever this AEUG mobile suit is called!" As he blazed towards the fight he saw several Titan Mobile suits in front of him. Kathy: "Move the ship in towards the base. We've won this battle they can only run." She said smugly as she issued her orders. She looked down at how the enemy had begun their retreat from the battlefield. She quickly reviewed the data. "This strategy.... Perhaps an ex-federation officer... Maybe?"[/i] Summer: As Summer was about to join with everyone else in the fight, there was a small explosion. Her machines engines had blown themselves out. The suit was still intact, but without being completely replaced she wasn't going to be participating in this fight. Damn it!" She screamed as she slammed her fists on the useless consoles. Chelsea / Samantha for simplicites sake Im just gonna say she made it out with the AEUG ship. |

(calling the old 48, here . . .) Ennis's first shot speared the GM II he'd targeted in the leg, blasting the appendage to smithereens and dropping the machine enough so that the Commander's second shot seared through its cockpit. The Karaba suit, it's pilot vaporized, kept moving for a bit from inertia before slamming to the pavement in a shower of sparks and debris. Meanwhile, Franke did a short leap towards the hangar entrance so that she could support Berta, leveling her Custom's weapon and launching a deadly beam at another suit from the Azura. Ennis swallowed down a smirk at the ongoing turkey shoot as his responsibilities as an officer and a human being overtook the ace pilot's desire to rack up the kills. It looked like the Azura was determined to get out of the hangar if it had to ram the Titan suits, but perhaps other Karaba members could be persuaded to save their own lives. They didn't stand much of a chance otherwise; hell, he could see a Nemo just deploying now that was already missing a limb. "Members of AEUG and Karaba, lay down your arms and surrender!" he yelled over an open channel. "You will be treated with the full respect of Federation law, but only if you cease fighting! We've already won, don't make this more costly than it has to be!" (1/8 of the Azura suits destroyed, a particle beam for a second. Call for surrender to all remaining units, that includes Orrick!) (Calling 48 hour rule and following ace’s lead and killing npcs because O’Regan is too popular for us now.) One karaba pilot tried to shout a warning but his body evaporated before he could articulate the words. His suit exploded into a ball of flame as another suit next to him lost its left arm. Jurik grinned. Even with shit aim, if he laid enough on ‘em, he’d get a hit. The Karaba suit that Alexander targeted took it in the cockpit and the pilot died instantly. |

Orrick As the Nemo blazed through the wreckage of what was once a hangar for ships, the message came over the free circuit from Ennis. With a smug grin Orrick continued his acceleration towards the Titans units. Thank you for presenting yourself James, my number one person on my growing hit list." As the Nemo continued and got full view of the battlefield, it became obvious that this was not the most opportune moment to exact his revenge. Orrick continued to charge specifically at Ennis, and then slowly came to a stop near Ennis' suit. On the same open channel that Ennis had made his broadcast on, Orrick made his opening statement. With a glaring smile and piercing eyes, Hello, James. Nothing like a voice from the grave right?" |

Ennis' eyes widened when he heard the voice from the Nemo. Blinking rapidly for a moment, he finally let out a bark of laughter. "Ha! Well, that wasn't too long a seperation after all, I guess," he said, shaking his head as his mind raced but keeping one eye on the scopes. The possibly unstable Orrick aside this was still a battlefield. "I'd agree, but I doubt you really qualify. You'd only be a voice from the grave if you were supposed to be dead, which you weren't, so you aren't," Ennis said with a shrug. He considered for a moment part of the reason he'd sent the younger man with Jim in the first place. "Find anything of interest on your little infiltration mission? Tch, nevermind, we can talk later. Area's too hot to be standing around talking for very long." Ennis spent a moment to flag Orrick's Nemo as a friendly, insuring he wouldn't be shot at by Titans, and then gestured towards the Garuda. "You can stay here and help mop up if you want, or head back to the ship and wait for me there. I'll get you an escort if you need one. Either way, our chat is going to wait for a bit." |

*The azura doesn't have any Nemos, although the AEUG/Karaba GM II's are also green. If we had nemos, I wouldn't be using GM II's :P* Azura The Azura was at the mouth of the cave and increasing speed, firing it's laser cannons as it went. *random suppressive shots* Karaba MS With three GM's down, the remaining 5 shot off a shit load of missiles at everyone. Also, one of the GM's responded to Ennis' request for their surrender with a simple "Why don't you go home and cry to your boyfriend?" *missiles for everyone currently attacking, including Franke, Ennis, Jurik, Alexander, Erol, etc. If you're reading this and have a Titan character, there's at least two missiles for you to avoid.* Sean & Zane Sean and Zane both quickly boosted away from the front of the cave's entrance, as beams kept pouring out, with five GM's who fired them popping out soon after. A few missiles were aimed at Sean, but Zane took them down with his Phlanex System. On the open channel Zane spoke to. "Consider that a favor. If you're really in a unit with a bomb, then I'll still fight to get you out, but if you have become a Titan, I will make sure to end your life as quickly as Michiko and Medea went down." Zane spoke coldly, knowing full well that he may have to kill Sean out of necessity one day if it meant his life would be spared. Although Sean was one of his few friends, he was also pointing a gun at him, and Zane would have to fight back regardless of Sean's circumstances. Sean couldn't respond as Zane started to boost away in the direction the Small Platter went in. It's then that Orrick and Ennis started to talk. "So you're back now? Did you get to have a fun time with Karl?" he said jokingly, although he knew full well what Karl was capable if you got on his bad side and were a prisoner. Without a moment passing afterwards, a new video window thing on the cockpit opened up. THe transmission was being sent on all channels, and was also being received by Karaba forces as well as Zane. The person in the transmission was sitting in an office chair in a crisp AEUG uniform while scratching his beard. When he started to speak, he placed his hanfds on his lap and crossed his legs. "I am Lt. Jacob Montagory if the AEUG. I'll be quick and to the point. We know our Ensign 'Bill Johnson,' known better to the EFF by his real name of Sean O'Regan, is piloting a mobile suit for Titan forces. Regardless of reason, we want him in our custody for punishment of betraying our noble cause of destroying corruption and tyranny of the Earth Sphere and fighting alongside the scum of the galaxy. If not returned to us, we will have no choice but to use our hostages against you." Another screen popped up, showing what looked like a woman and a little girl....dun dun dun |

"Tsk...Like I'll help out, especially under your orders." Orrick set his machine to walk slowly. He scanned the Titans in the area and saw that one had had its engines blown out. Opening the loudspeaker function of the Nemo he spoke to the pilot of the damaged hizack. "You there, we're going back to the Garuda. Your machine doesn't look like it can move under its own power so come over to my cockpit and we'll get back up there." "Who the hell is this guy? What gives him the right to talk to a Commander on a first name basis?" She shook her head since that's not what she needed to think about right now. "Fine, get on and I'll be right over." The nemo slowly walked over and onto the sled that Summer had arrived on. He opened the cockpit and moved his suits hand out to get her on it. The sled started up and Summer jumped onto the Nemo's hand. Orrick moved the hand over to the cockpit and Summer joined him in there behind him. The sled took off, and started to head towards the Titan's Garuda. Now that she had the time to look at the the person in this AEUG mobile suit, it was a man wearing a Titan's uniform, his face had been scared from what looked like fire, but if could have been from anything. She decided to keep up her nice girl routine in front of this new person who was wearing Lieutenant Commander rank insignias. "I'm Ensign Summer Hearst, it's nice to meet you. Since you're here I bet you'll be with this unit from now on right. I look forward to working with you if that's the case." Orrick continued to just looked forward not making any motion at the woman's comments. "Fine stay quiet, I was just trying to make some pleasant conversation." "It's about time you showed a little bit of your spunk. You may have fooled James, but that's easy. You can't fool someone who actually knows you." "I think I'd know you if I'd seen you before. At the very least I'd recognize your voice." Orrick laughed only slightly, "How petty. I didn't always have these scars and I was in the same class as you in the academy, never spoke much, but I finished just fine... Although someone like you Miss Popular wouldn't have bothered to get to know me." The few remaining moments that the two shared that cockpit, it was silent. In fact you could cut the tension in the air with a butter knife. Then the sled came to a stop aboard the Garuda. Orrick jumped out of the cockpit as soon as the Nemo was secured and headed for what was his room before Ennis' treason. Summer remained in the hangar in an attempt to help wherever she could. However, her thoughts were elsewhere as she tried to recall that Lieutenant Commander from her days in the academy. |

Franke yawned and slumped her head back against the headrest of her pilots chair and closed her eyes as she cycled down the generator on her beam launcher as she turned her Hi-Zack around and advanced back towards the Titans aircarrier with a loud yawn, as the AEUG broadcasted their threat she grinned, before broadcasting lazily back on a open channel, "I call irony on you calling the Titan boys the scum of the Earth and then using hostages," she poked her tongue out at the camera and cut the transmission as she yawned and cycled back onto the Titan secure channels, "They don't have the balls...call their bluff." Her Hi-Zack regrouped on Ennis' machine before turning to regard the retreating form of Orricks Mobile Suit, "You sure Musharif's ghost isn't riding around in his head? Seems like far to much of the nasty little man's personality has rubbed off on the boy." Edited by British, Sep 23 2009, 05:59 AM.

"Everybody's a critic," Ennis muttered to himself as Orrick headed back to the ship. Yet another variable to deal with. things never got any simpler. Of course, the moment he thought that is when Montagory appeared on his screen, along with the two hostages. It didn't take long for Ennis to recognize them, he'd looked at a picture of them often enough as he tried to track them down. Enraged, he ripped the helmet off of his head and hurled it to the bottom of the cockpit. "What the fuck is this!?" he yelled, even as he shot down the missiles coming for him and Franke (the Azura's shots were wide, focused on clearing the center of the hangar, and thus off to his right). Franke spoke up, practically taking the words from his mouth, except for perhaps the bluffing part. This base had its collective backs to the wall, they just might be desperate enough. "Yeah, something about Sharan got to him," Ennis said to Franke privately. "But we'll deal with that later. Watch my back while I deal with these assholes." Ennis opened up a line to Montagory, making sure the transmission was being recorded. He wanted this . . . farce on the record. "This is Commander James Ennis of the Titans Helios Squadron," he began, glaring at the AEUG Lieutenant. "Prisoner O'Regan is working for us under threat of death. He goes to you, we atomize him." To get the point across he went so far as to hold up the detonator switch to Sean's mobile suit. "But in this the AEUG has shown its true colors. Release the hostages, immediately. I don't care what anyone else thinks, the harming of unarmed civilians is not acceptable. How dare you call us scum and then threaten a mother and her child?!" |

Jurik held a yolk’s trigger down, his Marasai’s vulcan cannons spitting a stream of lead at the two oncoming missiles. One was hit and exploded, sending shrapnel into the second. The damaged missile twirled out of control and smashed into the side of the cave entrance, overshooting Jurik. The Marasai’s head turned, tracers following the two missiles heading towards Alexander. The Zeon mercenary fired shot after shot from his beam launcher in a vain attempt to hit the missiles. Jurik managed to land a single hit on one of the rocket bound warheads, striking one of its stabilizers. It blew a gash into the cave wall next to Alexander, but its brother continued undeterred. Alexander saw his whole life flash before his eyes. The missile struck his suit… And nothing happened. There was a fiery explosion as the missile’s body disintegrated on impact with the armor of the HiZack custom, exposing its fuel cells to open flame, but its warhead failed to detonate. Then a video was broadcasted to all suits… Jurik began laughing when the AEUG commander threatened them. “The Titans do not negotiate with terrorists,” he spoke cruelly over the open channel, “We kill them.” With that he targeted one of the remaining Karaba GMs and opened fire with his beam rifle. Alexander, having recovered his senses after nearly being killed, targeted another GM and opened fire. (Two shots from Jurik at Karaba GM, one shot from Alexander at Karaba GM) |
