Ens. Ibram Gaunt "Just a minute ago you were refusing my help, walking on your own, big tough guy and now you're too weak to go on?" Ibram laughed, picking up his duffel bag and his book from off of the ground. "Get yourself patched up, tough guy, we'll talk when you're not being so pissy." Ibram gave the nurse helping him a friendly wink and then the young pilot turned off towards the ship. He used the directions Karl gave him to head in the direction of the quartermaster. It had been a long trip and Gaunt was starting to feel it. He needed a place to put up his feet, maybe get some food. He also wanted to see the mobile suit they had assigned to him. It would take a while to fine tune the machine to his preferences. It was the kind of work he wanted to get started on sooner rather than later. |

(O’Reagan, Ying not David sex buddy, David is not an Amuro or Kamile, hahahaha) Ying Jie look at Bill, she know it him due to the description that was given by David. Ying Jie listen to Bill weird remark about getting a mechanic and all, and Ying Jie just smile and say “If you a MS, then you go find a mechanic, if you feel yourself is a human, then I think I’ll be able to help you.” Ying Jie walks toward a tray of medical equipment, she take a pliers like equipment and a bottle of iodine. Ying Jie walk toward Bill and take off Bill cloth, put them aside and look at Bill wound, “I would love to give you some painkiller pill, but I think you strong enough to resist the pain, plus we not that high in supply for painkiller pill too, so just bare with me here.” Ying Jie apply some iodine which would probably sting a lot, or if the pain gone any worse, maybe Bill will be in too much pain until he wont feel it anymore. After the applying the iodine on the wound, Ying Jie use the pliers like equipment and took out the bullet from Bill body, and place it on a dish nearby, “Anyway, if you want the bullet as a souvenir, you can have it.” Ying Jie then take a roll of bandage, apply some more iodine on the part of the bandage which going to come in contact with Bill wound, and she instantly rap Bill wound with the bandage. “I think you better take a rest in your room or on one of the bed on the medic room till you feel you get any better or at least till the doctor come and say you can leave. Ying Jie then walk away Bill and go attend some other part of her job. (Anyway, sorry if there some wrong detail in the whole taking bullet out process, cause I never taken any medical course so I not sure what to do first and last, but atleast Bill don’t get kill right? Hahahaha) |

"You're not certified to do anything jackass" Bill uttered before the nurse started to get ready to work. ---------- As Ying pulled out the bullet, Bill remarked "That's too big to be a bulllet" before gasping for air and dying a painful death. Instead of a bullet, his heart was taken out. :P Kidding ----------- 'How are we out of painkillers?' Bill thought. 'The Captain must be taking them again.' as the tweezers dug into him, he clenched his fists trying hard not to punch the nurse in the face. 'Why couldn't this have happened to Zane instead?' After the bullet was out, Ying made a comment about keeping the bullet to remember this moment by. 'Yeah, I really wanna remember how much this fucking hurt, even though I have clips of magazines in my room. That makes sense.' After he was stiched back together and bandaged he put his shirt on. "Fuck the doctor, I have a war to fight." He said as he stood up and started to leave for the mess hall. Lunch time. |

Yuri frowned nearly to the point that his brow took in his nose, "I was here to be given a tour of the Ship, my company was one of the ones who helped fund this line of ships and my investors want to know that their money was well spent, though from what I can see of you Mr. Tirpitz, their money may have been badly wasted." Karl laughed, "You think i care one iota about your investors, I did it to try and use that bastard Ennis as a bargaining chip to get two of my pilots back." Karl turned to the Captain, "Ma'am, I apologize for having disturbed you, I'll leave you and fat ass here to your tour." Karl saluted Kimi as well as shoving Yuri a little as he walked out. |

"I'll leave you and fat ass here to your tour..." "Wait... WHAT?!?" Kimi snapped her attention from some random thoughts and back into reality. Apparently there has to be some miscommunication. "Dammit Karl... and to think you were gonna be an improvement from Shithead Steiner..." she thought to herself as she straightened herself out and brought out her usual angelic smile. "Well... uhh... Mr. Guh-rah-veck? I'll have one of my pilots come along and give you a tour of the ship, since I don't really know the specific locations around the ship myself..." she said with a soft giggle, feigning shyness and cluelessness. She quickly pressed the intercom. "Ensign... Downing. Come to the Captain's office and take the visitor on a nice long tour around the ship..." |

Ens. Ibram Gaunt Gaunt's duffel bag hit the bed in his new quarters with a whumpf while he stared longingly at the mattress. Ibram wanted to pass out for a few hours but he had a lot of work to do if he was going to fine tune his new mobile suit to his very strict specifications by the time it was zero hour for the next operation. Being the "Fuckin' New Guy" meant that he would have a lot to prove. He couldn't afford to make any rookie mistakes when it was time to take the fight to the Titans. He'd never actually flown in combat before but Gaunt knew the hectic energy of a battlefield well from the One Year War and the Delaz Conflict, as well as a handful of other minor engagements when he was working as a mobile suit mechanic on Federation ships. A battle wasn't a time where he could learn by trial and error. One slip-up and he'd be dead. At least they'd given him an MSA-003 Nemo instead of one of the old, patch-job GM II's that was the mainstay of the fleet. The Nemos were fresh out of Anaheim Electronics and from what he'd read about them, Gaunt knew that they could outperform the older GMs in almost every way. It was going to be reassuring to have those few extra fractions of a G in acceleration and better thrust to weight ratio when he was making combat maneuvers. Ibram rolled up the sleeves on his EFSF uniform and clipped the AEUG pins and lapels to it. His former officers would have had his head for rolling up his sleeves or leaving a few button undone on his collar like he had, but this wasn't the Federation anymore. Ibram caught a glimpse of himself in the small bathroom mirror they'd given him and ran a hand through his blonde hair, sweeping it away from his glasses. Then he grabbed his yellow normal suit and stepped into it, tying it off at his waist. His Federation issue helmet matched the rest of the normal suit, and he kept that slung over his shoulder. Animal Farm found its way back into his hand for the journey to the mobile suit hangar. Once there, Gaunt managed to find his mobile suit via the bay roster. A couple of techs were just finishing the green paint right above the cockpit that declared "γ - II", or Gamma 2. He'd been assigned the second seat in Gamma Team under Ensign Anderson, who he had met in passing earlier. Apparently it was a new team as the rosters had just recently undergone some changes. Gaunt was looking forward to meeting the rest of the team properly later. For now he only had eyes for his new best friend, the machine that would be his sword arm and his life support for the days to come. Gaunt boarded the lift which brought him swiftly to the cockpit and he opened it up so he could take a seat. "Just feeling her up today guys, don't worry." he said to the alarmed painters. The Nemo woke up with a base thrumming as its power core, computer, and main systems were brought online one by one by Gaunt from his acceleration chair in the darkened cockpit. He checked and double-checked for green lights on all major systems, then ran through the itemized checklist while the Nemo's "eye" visor flashed green for a moment and the panoramic monitor brightened up and showed him the hangar outside. He pulled down another monitor from above himself and set the Nemo to maintenance mode, getting down to code while he installed a few of his own specially designed programs and little tinkerings he always found worked better and faster for him than the operating system that came installed as the default in these things. He didn't change it much, but it would be a noticeable difference to those used to the default settings. He also began tinkering with the fuel lines, the targeting systems, the AMBAC, and the sensitivity of nearly everything. Gaunt liked a light touch with his mobile suits, giving him the ability to control the thrust, targeting, and maneuvering with the slightest of adjustments. Gaunt left the hatch open to get a little fresh air as he went behind the pilot's seat to open up a piece of the panoramic monitor near the back of the cockpit and get access to the hardwiring. ((I'll just leave this here for now. Anyone who wants to come have a chat is welcome to.)) |

Jim started by heading for his quarters until his PDA buzzed. New flight roster... he thought as he saw he'd been assigned as lead of a three man team. Both rookies, but I know how to train my people. Now, about the fact that I'm still an Ensign... Jim tried to think how he'd convince Karl to get at least one more pin, if not two to go with the single pin and stripe he currently wore on his collar. Eddy's a fine pilot, but he's been out of the game six years longer than I have, and he was only a pilot in the One Year War, not a leader. he mused as he tried to mull over an argument to Karl that would have him replacing Eddy as DCAG. Might as well meet the new guy; I already talked with Chelsea... must see her again too. Good thing they aren't too big on protocol here, else I wouldn't be allowed to pursue that beautiful gal... he smiled as he tried to figure out a way to get to know her in a much more casual setting. First he stopped by his Rick Dias, the maintenance teams swarming over it as they replaced about half its systems. The guy was right; and I owe him an apology Jim knew, manning up as he apologized to his crew chief. The chief took it OK, but was still visibly peeved at the state Jim had brought his bird home in. Jim wanted to tell him about Ambrose, but Karl had been specific about that; and the guy didn't need to know. Jim spotted his new pilot over on his Nemo, getting to know the bird. Jim smiled, happy the new guy was already working on his suit. Nice attitude and initiative, kid. Now let's get your story he thought as he clambored to the Nemo's cockpit and asked Ibram "Getting acquainted with the new gal, Ibram?" |

Ens. Ibram Gaunt Gaunt had his hands full of circuit boards and wires and was reaching in past his elbows to tinker with something beneath the panoramic motor. His book lay open and face-down on the seat with a technical manual open on top of it. A couple of tools lay on the ground next to him and he clutched a spanner between his teeth. At the sound of Jim's voice he startled, smacking the back of his head on the seat behind him and dropping the spanner with a clatter and a curse. When he peered around the seat at Jim, though, he was all smiles. "Oh, hi Ensign Anderson. Yeah, we're getting pretty close. She's beautiful, isn't she?" he chuckled, laying down his tools and coming out from the back of the cockpit. Ibram ducked out from around the seat and wiped his hands on a dirty rag before extending his right one to shake Jim's hand. "Sorry if the techs are going to get annoyed at me for this, but I've been a mechanic since before I could remember. Being a pilot is the new thing. I like to get these gals running to my extremely nit-picky standards before I fly them." he explained, his grin becoming almost an embarrassed one. |

Jim couldn't help but be reminded of Ambrose when the young pilot crawled out of the mess of wires. He chuckled as he replied "The techs don't know exactly how you want your baby to handle. You do. A pilot who does his own maintenance is a good thing, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Best pilot I ever flew with started as a mechanic" Jim replied to the new guy. "Whaddya think of her, anyway?" he asked. |

Ens. Ibram Gaunt Gaunt was glad that his team leader was a people person, unlike Mr. Tough Guy back outside with the medics. He liked being able to trust and rely on whoever was leading the outfit rather than having to look over his shoulder every ten seconds. Ibram didn't know Jim's combat record, but he seemed like the good leader type, just from first impressions. He actually took the time to meet his pilots, gave them leave to have their little odd habits, and genuinely showed some interest in how they were doing. A lot of officers just figured the rookie was probably going to die anyway, so why get to know him? "Well," Gaunt tilted his head back, as if looking up at the Nemo from inside the cockpit, "she's no Gundam, but she's got those old GMs beat in just about every department. In fact, with the right pilot, I'd put her up against a Rick Dias or one of those new Titan units any day of the week. Heh, and the Hizack is absolutely no competition. I wouldn't even put them in the same league with Nemo, here." he grinned, running a hand across the panoramic monitor. Gaunt seemed to sober up a little. "Speaking of which, I hear we're getting set for some new operation. Any idea when us FNGs are going to get a briefing and a timetable for that? I'd hate to still be working on my mobile suit when we're given the green light." |

Bill stopped in the middle of his walk to the mess hall and thought about his situation. He has a gun wound in his shoulder, meaning no one was going to expect him to do anything for a little bit. His favorite Pizza place won't be closing for another 7 hours. Pizza time...again! Making an about face Bill headed back to the hangar and jumped into a buggy. Starting it up he drove passed a Nemo and saw Jim. "Hey Jim, I'm heading back into town for some grub, want me to bring you back anything?" *pause and wait for Jim's answer.* "New guy, what about you?" |

"Well, I'll vouch that one of these can't hold with a Rick Dias anyways - Karl got me when I was still flying a Nemo in a sim, so don't get cocky and think you've got the best suit out there. As for Descending Sword, that was briefed a few days ago. Karl's still chewing on the details for that one, but barring anything new cropping up that should be a go in a few days. We hard-drop onto a smaller base, then sweep and clear. Pretty basic op, really. There will be a more comprehensive brief 24 before its a go; that I will assure you. I'll make sure you know when the brief is, Ensign." Jim said as Bill walked up and asked about pizza again. What is it with this guy and pizza? he wondered before he felt his stomach champing at the bit to get some chow into it. He replied "Yeah, sure thing Bill. Let's hit it. Ibram, you in?" |

Ens. Ibram Gaunt Gaunt felt his stomach clench and growl audibly at the mention of food. "Oh man, am I ever. I feel like I haven't eaten since leaving Side 1. Just give me a second to close this down." Gaunt reattached a few cables, slid a few circuit boards back in, reconnected a power line, then closed up the hole he'd made in the back of the cockpit. He worked fast, but efficiently, displaying a talent with machinery and a thorough knowledge of the mechanisms. He shifted around to the pilot's chair, pulled out a keyboard from one side of it, and entered a few commands. Fingertips flying over the keys, Gaunt set the Nemo to sleep mode and locked out its command systems to anyone but himself. Then, picking up Animal Farm, Gaunt slid out of the cockpit and sealed the hatch. "How's the shoulder?" Gaunt shouted down to Bill as he hit the control for the lift that would take both Jim and himself back to the floor. |

"Hurts like a bitch, just like 10 minutes ago when that nurse patched me up." Bill said as he put on a pair of sunglasses. It was bright out 20 minutes ago, but the car chase impaired his ability to remember to put them on. Due to the car chase earlier, putting on the sunglasses would not have provided any disguise as he was wearing the same clothes. |

Ens. Ibram Gaunt "Well, the food should help. Here, I've still got a lot of work to do on my mobile suit, so just bring me back a large pizza with lots of cheese. I'm a purist." he grinned, pressing a few bills into Bill's good hand. "You don't want me along annoying you anyway. I appreciate it, man." |
