Hi guys, I recently discovered that A Concise Dictionary of Akkadian by Jeremy Black, Andrew George, and Nicholas Postgate is online. It is designed to be the sort of short dictionary which anyone can flip through and spot interesting words which might be worth entering into a library database. Unfortunately, things like words for craft techniques or specific materials are the sort of things which a concise dictionary may leave out! But if I stumble over anything in that area I will let you know. The PDF is here. |

Super! Nothing gets you into the ancient mind like the structure and peculiarities of dead languages. BTW, I am really enjoying your blog! Nice work

Thanks Todd. I do not have much time for Bronze Age things right now, but I am posting things as I come across them, especially things other than arms and armour. |
