Just got this book in the mail today, it's an exhibition catalog from a show at a German museum. Basically, it's Mycenaean to (mostly) Geometric Greece, with arms, armor, cooking materials, etc. relevant to the Trojan War up through the time of Homer. It's in German, and it pretty much uses the old chronology, but it's a sweet book and it's cheap, I got my copy on Abebooks for a big 20 scoots plus shipping. A great addition to my collection of Aegean Bronze age to Iron Age art books. There's a whole section about the meaning of heroes and all that, but lots on the function and position of the hero in "Dark Age" Greece. Go buy it now.

Thanks for the information! Sound great. I'll look into getting a copy of that :)
