I see that our newest member is Jeffrey Hildebrandt, the maker of this helmet! I'm particularly honored by his presence here and look forward to an opportunity to work with him on a private commission in the not so distant future!

His Etsy page has also been discontinued as he has progressed with his personal web page, but it seems it's down right now. You can access it at royaloakarmoury.com when it returns. Soon, hopefully.

Thanks for the warm welcome Gregory! You can still peruse my products on Etsy while my hosting problems get sorted out.

This is a great forum, focused and scholarly. When my research leads me into the bronze age from time to time I will be sure to share my findings and the finished pieces they lead to. Actually, what I have read here so far has me itching to make something from that phosphor bronze languishing in my workshop!

Kudos to the excellent craftmen who already post here, it is an honour to join you.

Gregory I too look forward to work from Jeffrey in the future! Now if they would just make larger sheets of bronze...

I just received a quote for a 2'x4' sheet of .040 phosphor bronze in LA for $4700. I contacted the salesman to ask if the decimal was up to no good, and he indignantly responded that it would cost that amount because they intended to charge for a much thicker sheet, and the cost of milling it to my required thickness! So, anyone here can have that sheet if they want it - I am going to keep looking around!

Check out this thread Todd's been chatting about onlinemetals.com in. Seems like he's gettin' a deal compared to your quote! Very much so... Ha!

Hi Gregory
Jeffrey checked into that but that webform is a fantasy
You can ask for anything you'd like but they just have the same old stock.
Curses!
