I recently finished this axe. The blade was forged from bronze plate with the help of local smith Scott Shaddock. The size and shape of the blade are patterned after several originals, but I did change the design of the metal tangs that insert into the handle for a more secure binding. The haft is ash. The head is secured with wooden pins, horse-hoof glue, and copper wire. |

Um, I can't see a photo here? Assuming it's the same axe you sent me a photo of, looks pretty good! How big is it? And have you tried chopping anything with it? Matthew |
