Hey folks, Ran across this on another board. Very neat stuff. A supposed 13th century clay tablet from Ugarit contains evidence that has been interpreted as what may be considered the world's oldest song - lyrics, rhythm and tune included! Check out the site. The music will play automatically on a loop. It is rather soft, so have your speakers tuned up. http://128.97.6.202/urkeshpublic/music.htm Cheers! -Gregory |

Absolutely riveting. The OLDEST musical score in the world! It's as though we have been given a little glimpse into these people's lives. Potentially common people, or important scribes have now been immortalized and made part of our lives. It just comes to show the insignificance of the passage of time. That's why I always liked Greensleeves. One generation, one thousand generations. Very little actually changes during this period. We are not so different from these people who wrote, or sang. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for posting. |
