There is a shell plaque showing a Mari shield made of four bundles of reeds. It is curved backwards at the top and the bearer is using it to protect an archer. I'm trying to find a pic of this plaque so I can see if a reconstruction can be made of the shield.

Hello Dan,

By the way, I have made a full study of this kind of shields for my ongoing Ph. Diss., with evolution, comparisons, structures, materials, an so on and so on...

Interested ?

Just posing a query : if I provide the whole data, would you have me a model done ?

All the best

Fabrice

I'm not the one to ask for shield reconstructions. Maybe Matt has room for something else on his plate?

But I'd still need to see the original plague with the illustration. Otherwise any reconstruction would be pure speculation.
