Its complete except for the leather edging. It does have the ties in so I can wear it. But I don't think I'll get the edging done before I leave for Calgary :( Doing the leather edging is a new process, and I'll have to find a day or so to get well started on it.

I didn't get the leather edging added before I left for Calgary. The biggest problems I have to figure out are how to drive the lacing threads through 4 layers of heavy cloth at the edges, and how to bend the leather at the corners. Does anyone with leatherworking experience or armouring experience have advice?

Hi Sean,
I think you need an awl and a willingness to stab your fingers now and again!

To bend the leather at the corners, cut small triangles out of the leather, one on each side of the edging. Almost like making a wood molding around a door. Or, you could just fold it and matter it gently to flatten the protruding edges a little. I would be more of the mind to cut it, though.
