3. Report a member First, thanks for your interest in trying to keep Godly Good at its best! Please have a look through this topic before posting or replying a report. 3.1 When To Post The Report a Member forum is for members and staff to file reports against any member they see breaking Godly Good rules. Please do not post in this forum unless you are: a) Godly Good staff reporting a Godly Good member c) adding evidence to a report d) responding to a report against you. If you post in this forum and do not fit one of the criteria above you will be warned and you may lose your posting rights. First offence is a 3-day suspension, second is a 7-day suspension and if it continues may result in a ban from Godly Good. That may sound harsh - but this forum doesn't require any commentary that isn't directly related to the report made. (This includes commending or criticising someone for having reported a rule breaker, even if the report is against you. It will not work in your favour if you attack the person who has reported you.) 3.2 What To Post If you see a member breaking Godly Good rules, we encourage you to report it. However we cannot take any action against a member unless we can see evidence that a rule has been broken. Rule broken ~ Please use the Godly Good Rules and be specific about what rules you are reporting the member for breaking. While it might have been obvious to you at the time, Staff have to look at reports out of context and it isn't always obvious just what it is we are meant to be looking for evidence of. Evidence ~ You must provide a screenshot, video or log of the offence. The evidence has to clearly show that a rule is being broken - and for some rules this may require more evidence than others. For instance, a member saying 'I am selling my RS and HU accounts' is pretty clear. But a member who is splash training at PC will require more evidence so we can be confident that they haven't mis-clicked and cast the wrong spell or equipped the wrong item - so we require 3 screenshots taken from different games (include the portal health in the screenshot) or a video long enough to make it seem unlikely that it was an accident or a lag issue.) If you provide screenshot or video evidence you will need to upload/host it somewhere. Imageshack is a decent free host for screenshots, Photobucket is a decent free host that requires registration but also allows hosting of videos.[/url] (If using these sites to post images, use the url labelled 'Hotlink for Forums' and it will provide you with the code to paste into your post or 'Direct Link' which will give a link to the evidence.) Member or not? ~ Godly Good can only take action against Godly Good members. We ask that you check to see if they are actually Godly Good members before you make a report. Please use the Members List and copy the link to their profile into your report to make it easier for Staff to find the right member. If this regards Pest Control and you have evidence of someone being disruptive to games - leaking, idling, splash training, etc - it can be reported (with clear evidence) but it needs to be with the understanding that staff may inform that person's team - but each team is governed independently and their rules (and punishments) may be different to ours. 3.3 Follow Up After you have made a report, a staff member will look at the report and will deal with it. In some cases, we will need more information, and may PM the person making the report. In other cases, we may be unable to take further action against the member - please understand it isn't because we don't believe you or don't want to punish the person you reported. We need to be certain that we are treating our members fairly - and sometimes that means we have to put ourselves in their shoes and consider how situations could be misinterpreted and give them the benefit of the doubt... It doesn't mean we haven't taken any notice - but until we are confident rule breaking is happening we can't do anything more than monitor that member and watch for other reports. |
