Introduction For the first time, World Music Projects, together with its Official Partner, WASBE (Singapore) are joining hands to initiate and organize the first annual National Band Competition open for all concert bands in Singapore. Regardless whether you have a school band, community band, alumni band or combined bands, you are eligible to take up this challenge! The competition aims to raise awareness and standards in the field of wind band music through direction steered by our Advisory Council which comprises of music professionals from the local music colleges and professional bands. Participating bands will be exposed to standards equivalent to international standings. We have taken into considerations different standards and diversities of bands in Singapore; therefore, instead of all bands competing on par, the Advisory Council has 5 divisions for bands to participate in. In addition, there will be free choice of required pieces for the various divisions to suit your requirements. This is to allow showcase of your band’s maximum potential and strength in areas of performance. -Got this from the application form itself- ^^> |
