Thats easy.. 1st, don't smoke ciggs. 2nd, go running and push ya diaphram. 3rd, notes holding and projection.. NOte the word 'projection'.. There's a difference between blasting and projection. |

kk.. spencer0 is right.. still gt other points.. before playing music can do abit of pt.. this will enable u to get in more air whilst playing music.. u must also use the proper breathing technique.. this is too prevent using too much energy to just breathe in than to use the energy to play music.. also, u haf to learn to use the air properly.. got some ppl play instrument then got a faint psssst sound.. tts e air tt comes out but is not being used.. its just being wasted.. imagine a whole flute section doesn't use the air properly.. then all e flautist got that psst sound.. it would sound irritating!.. just like a vacuum cleaner.. =x.. no offense.. but its true.. so if can do all this properly, it will most probably increase your stamina in music playing and it would also help u get a better sound out of the instrument.. good luck! |

i learn that there is one practices that may help in improving stamina for brass players only =/ try doing this everyday, breath out all the air... then breath in as much air as possible till your lungs are full for about 8 seconds, then breath out all the air for 8 seconds. do it 3 times, then breath in for 8 second, breath out on 5 seconds, then start breathing in for 5 sec and breath for 5 sec, breath in for 5 sec and breath out for 3 sec, breath in for 3 sec and breath out for 3 sec, breath in 3 sec and breath out 1 sec, and finally breath in for 1 sec and breath out for 1 sec, so on and so for. then try buzzing into your mouthpieces doing the same things. quite troublesome but that's why all my masterclass teacher taught me. Sorry, if you don't understand what i mean because it's better to use speech to explain. |

use more air lor.. but rmb don blast.. must expand the sound instead.. push the sound forward towards the audience.. the key to the loudness of the sound is projection..
another point to ponder.. its all in the mind bah.. think abt the note and how loud u want it to be.. then keep thinking bout it and let it remain in your head.. then just play as usual.. my fren has this problem of using his inner lip to play the trumpet.. resulting all the notes played to be VERY accented.. like as if he is punching every note he plays.. so my conductor asked him to think as if the sound was coming from 10 meters behind him.. it was quite ridiculous to believe it would work at first.. but it worked(miraculously).. haha.. so yeah.. it's all in the mind.. i suggest this to be used by the more advanced players to make the tone, pitch and projection of the sound better.. good luck! (p.s. this may be alienic to most ppl.. lol.. but it took me a long time to understand this too..) |

Adolphe studied clarinet and flute at college and was a very fine player. The desire to invent however drew Adolphe back to the family tradition of instrument making. He had already come up with his family of saxhorns (from which are born todays brass band instruments) and redesigned the bass clarinet to a greatly improved standard, but he also wanted to produce an instrument that played in octaves rather than twelfths. Tt's WHY~ so...tt sound ish correct?... |
